I'm trying not to be a homer, but I am absolutely bullish on the Redskins' pass-catchers in fantasy football...and in real-life. I believe in this offensive system and Cousins' ability to make it click. Pryor is a physical freak on the verge of truly breaking out as WR1. Doctson is finally healthy and producing early in camp so far, Crowder is pegged by almost EVERY media outlet to become the next STAR at the WR position from the slot. Reed will be his dynamic self as long as he is healthy and on the field. Mo Harris just seems to catch everything thrown his way. Grant is a route specialist and will always provide decent depth, especially if forced into a pressure situation. I don't know about Brian Quick, but he made a nice grab in camp from what I saw. And now we are talking about the, what, 7th WR (not including Reed). That is some serious depth at one position, IMO.
Burgundy Yoda
Watching Doctson in his camp videos, I must say I'm pretty impressed. He does everything really good from the looks of it. He sells routes, has amazing hands, has a very good stride, I'm not trying to gush or be a homer but I have a better feeling about him than Pryor. Which isn't a bad thing because I think Pryor is going to be awesome.
Koolblue13
When Reed is healthy, Kirk can pretty much throw it near him on every play. It makes it much harder for us when he's out. I'm hoping the Pryor can be that guy instead, since he's faster and healthy. Great having two guys in Pryor and Doctson that can make up for some of Kirks accuracy issues. SWFLSkins
Trying not to get to hyped with Camp always favoring the WR against a single DB, no safety over the top or pressure on QB. That said it is really exciting to think about the possible production from this unit. Roberts supposedly doing well, and the guy from ODU Pascal.....this is a great problem to have. RandyHolt
Some fans seemed to give others grief for wanting tall WRs over the years. Decades. But I don't think anyone can deny the benefits of having a WR with big enough hands to catch TDs with one hand.

zCommander
But according to this: NFL.com: Jay Gruden likes his big WRs in red zone: I love the fade. Coach I can warm up to the fade. I know the fade didn't work for us last year. But hello Pryor and Doctson (as noted). Gruden: "I do like to have bigger receivers in the red zone here and there to be able to throw some fades, too. What the heck, you know, I love the fade," Gruden said, via The Washington Post. "You can throw the back-shoulder fade. You can throw it over the top. They can go up and get seam-balls." Here is a telling stat from the article: Tight end Jordan Reed was by far the most successful red-zone threat last season. Leading Washington's receivers in catch rate was 5-8 Jamison Crowder(56.25 percent). Garcon and Jackson posted red-zone catch rates of 38.46 and 36.36 percent, respectively, last season. Last year with Cleveland, Pryor earned a 69.23 red-zone catch rate. I know we lost 2 1000+ yards receivers but I can't wait for that TD in the end zone while Pryor just reaches up and catches the ball with one hand as his toes are inside the lines, barely. Chills. CTskin
"Losing two 1000 yard WRs" is such overhyped clickbait. If we replaced them with no one then I could see the issue, but that's just not the case. The truth is that those two WRs lost a great system with a very good QB passing them the ball. Barring injury, Pryor/Doctson is an improvement. I'll miss Garcon's vice grips on the 3rd and 4 slants and I'll miss DJax tracking down a 40-yarder once a game, but the talent we have now is much better all around. Give me the big freakys all dayyy. I hate that hearing good things about Grant feels like a negative. I want to root for him, but it's just not possible until he does something in a game. They came in a bunch early in the season so impression stayed. Rich TandlerVerified account @Rich_TandlerCSN The #Redskins will continue to throw the fade in the red zone and they may have better results this year. Seems Rich thinks with the increase in size, they will again attempt to use the fade in the RZ.

crabbypatty
I feel very optimistic about the wr group as a whole. I think Pryor develops into a legit #1 this year, if doctson is healthy then I think by season's end we'll be saying Pierre and desean who? Can elite athletic ability and imposing size make up for burner speed and gritty toughness? I think they can replace those two quite well and do so at a high level. At first I would have been pissed that you grabbed some guys ahead of me, but once I realized what you were doing I would have commented: HTTR. My big concern with ranking the Redskins skill position players is how evenly the targets will be distributed. On the surface (given good health), I could see Pryor, Crowder, Doctson and Reed getting 1000 yards. Obviously, they will not all do that together, but a case could be made that each of them individually could produce at that level. The trick is figuring out which ones will, given thier ADP. But all Redskin pass catchers in total only had 20 whereas Pryor alone had 17 last season. And that's what should translate into the redzone. Docston excelled at that in college, too, so Kirk definitely has guys he can feel comfortable taking risks with. Sounds obvious and we knew that's the difference with those guys, of course, but that actually put it in numbers there. Pretty cool. Thanks for posting this. AlvinWaltonIsMyBoy
I'm gonna enjoy Pryor this season, but I'm not gonna get too attached. Bruce will offer him a grilled cheese and some ho-ho's after he has a monster year here and it'll be back to the AFC for him. Stoked about Doctson. He's a frisbee catching dog and even cheap ass Bruce can't screw up a deal with him for the next few years. Fingers crossed.

It might be unfair to think about Docston since it was one of his first outings but they tried like crazy to throw it to him in the red zone 1 game and came up empty. Just his first time or so then he got injured but it was underwhelming. Hopefully, he will stay healthy this season and blossom.
Riggo'sRangers
We never saw the "real" Doctson last year, trust me on that. I lived in Mansfield, Texas for the last 20ish years & saw him play at Mansfield Legacy and TCU. He was not himself last year. Watch this year and THEN rejudge him. Pryor has an unbelievable story. With what he has been though he must be STARVING. I get him more now, after watching tat video. It's not even about the football part to me, but his mental fortitude and work ethic. We will be "must see TV" on the offensive side of the ball. We could blow up and be ridiculously good there. If our defense is just a smidgen better, the sky is the limit, and I am serious. I am more excited about our Redskins than I have been in a long time. One of the big keys is depth as well. Hell, our back ups can actually come in and we shouldn't miss a beat and COULD be better in certain aspects. Just think, if Doctson is truly healthy & Junior is back to form (or better per him), add in the draft & FA; well you get the picture. Could be a "wow" year. IF we could have somehow gotten Richardson we could be SB contenders. Who knows what will happen but I am stoked for this year.....REALLY stoked. Hail.
