!!!!0mgz!!!! Trent Williams finally showed up

If the bolded is true, trent and his dumbass agent have made him basically untradeable. Nobody is going to want to take on that headache with a lying player and agent via trade unless it was a low risk move, and then turn around and extend his dumb ass with a megabucks deal. I think the hopes of a 2nd have sailed a long time ago. Probably the best we can hope for is a swap for another malcontent somewhere. Absolute worst case we're stuck with the guy for next year, and if that is the case I'd nickel and dime him for every tiny infraction just for being a giant dickwad and causing this situation in the first place.
  2. Another 4.3 guy opposite of Mclaurin plus whoever they pick up in the draft? yes please. He had some drops/fumble issues iirc, but he's a legit weapon. Dude hurt us pretty bad until that big fumble last year.

Christian would be an absolute disaster at OT. The guy has shown zero in the years he's been here, except getting beat every which way possible. I don't see him making a miraculous turn around year 3.

So Trent and his team are butthurt that Ron came in and didn't accord him special treatment because Ron had the AUDACITY to tell him he wanted him to prove himself?? LOLOL That's part of the problem with the last regime, special treatment and 2 sets of rules, nobody was held accountable. Ron comes in and says prove yourself and all of the sudden "Trent realized there was no relationship".. no **** sherlock. At least the big dummy was able to figure out one thing without ****ing it up.

maybe they traded Dunbar cheap as a giant middle finger to Trent.. and if that's the case I wholeheartedly agree with the tactic.
  6. FA has been a ****ing disaster by any account. What a cluster**** of a mess, we've got everyone's scrap heap projects.. yay. But they're on cheap contracts!!! Who gives a ****?? They're guys who will not be starters in this league, and barely will be able to make most rosters, even ones as ****ty as ours. But we traded a 5th for a 3rd string qb! So there!! I am failing to see the long term plan and am souring on this new FO reaaaaallllllllyy quickly. I hate to sound like jogginggod, because that dude has some serious issues, but Jesus Christ.. this has been an unholy cluster**** of a disaster. DH is gonna get murdered this year, and it's looking possible that we could be WORSE than last year. The roster is certainly worse for sure.
  7. Really? because I don't recall any of those names in my post. I said a 5th rounder is expensive for HIM, the guy ranked dead last as a starter, and you give up pick for a guy who was dead last out of 32 passers with over 250 attempts. Giving a 5th for a BACKUP in this draft is ridiculous, based on his play last year and statistical rankings.
  8. A 5 is steep for a guy ranked 32 of 32. That's pretty bad. Overall the new FO gets a D- from me. Nothing they have done screams "we want to win" I understand not going after every Bruce Smith and Deion out there, But ffs, there are many mid tier FA's that can help this team improve right now. Why we have refused to go after any save Fuller is a mystery to me. We have no starting LT, presumably have a replacement at LG with Martin, but zero depth of note on the OL, except for a $3 million dollar guard. That ain't gonna fly when the season starts. Having only 3 corners worth much playing time ain't gonna fly either. I just don't understand not wanting to upgrade the team at necessary positions. You don't have to sign guys to Josh Norman sized contracts, but there are affordable Fuller type deals out there for guys who are starters in this league, not fringe roster bubble guys. Every move so far this offseason has been baffling to me. Hopefully they don't play the draft as badly as they've done in FA.
  9. What makes having options better for 2021 any different than 2020? We had plenty of options this year and decided to go dumpster diving. Who's to say we won't do the same next year? We do need better players. Signing fringe roster types ain't gonna make this team better and translate to more wins. I'll be real interested to see if coaching makes that big of a difference with the roster built as is.
  10. Fa had been a dud so far, and seems to have fizzled out for the most part. After having a few days to digest the signings and and general skill level of the guys signed (as far as NFL production) I'm still as underwhelmed as I was when these current fa's were signed. I'd be surprised if half of these guys were still on the roster come Sept. Such is life I suppose. Much remains to be seen, but it's been an underwhelming start for the new regime so far. Hopefully it'll all pan out in a few years.
  11. Martinez was not the answer, he makes a lot of tackles but they're 5+ yards down the field. He reminds me of a slightly faster Will Compton. Just not good enough for the $$ he would command. Bostic was better than Foster, but I agree, he was not the answer either. Serviceable yes, but answer? No.

How much of a stupid asshole do you have to be to not realize that nobody wants any part of your ridiculous demands, and then double down by continuing to insist on it? I would have thought that Trent can't possibly be that dumb.. but apparently he is. If he really wanted out he'd do a deal someplace. He's just trying to get as much $$ out of the Redskins as possible, probably because he feels they "owe" him millions.

I think he's broke and wants as much money as he can get. No facts to back that up, but I get the sense he didn't manage his money very well.
  14. I wonder if the OBJ on the trade block rumors are true. Trent for OBJ straight up.. would you do it? I would in a second, even though I can't stand the guy. His last 3 years on his contract are for around $13.5 million apy. He's had 1000 yard seasons every year except the one when he broke his leg. Even for the browns last year he still had 1000 and they sucked as bad as we did.
  15. That would be a devastating combo. Both guys legit warrant double teams.. Obviously OBJ more than Mclaurin, but still.. both of them together would be amazeballz. It would be up to Haskins..
  16. Upgrading depth is debatable. Adding depth, ok, but I don't view the guys they signed off the scrap heap as upgrades. Maybe they are a fit schematically, that remains to be seen. I get that the staff thinks they are. I am in wait and see mode, and I don't expect the team to go 12-4 just because Rivera is here in one offseason. I do however expect improvement, and don't see how that will be accomplished by the guys they've added. I agree coaching will be a big thing and that is probably where the most improvement will come from, but you still need NFL quality bodies/starters at multiple positions. If you want to go bpa in the draft, wouldn't it make sense to try and fill holes with guys who can start on decent contracts, not bargain basement guys who could not eke out starting gigs elsewhere? I'm not saying they need to sign the biggest high dollar names, but they do need to address positions with more than hopes and dreams that some $3 million guy is going to be the answer. We have no choice but to wait and see how things play out, but I'm concerned so far by the lack of starting quality depth obtained, as well as the lack of movement on the personnel front (trent, dunbar shipped out, Kerrigan restructure, etc.)
  17. I would have been looking for guys like Fuller. Guys who have started in this league and had success and proven they belong.. not wasting all my cap $$ on fringe practice squad guys.
  18. For years we complained about the high priced shiny toys. And than was justifiable because they mostly sucked. However this FA so far absolutely sucks. Fuller was a good signing. THOSE are the type I'm looking for, not fringe practice squad guys. Let's face it, we've got holes at S, CB, LB, TE, LT. we have needs at WR, C, OG. to justify dumpster diving at this point is ridiculous. Even the most rose colored homers can't expect all those needs and positions to be filled in the draft.. that is just ridiculous to expect rookies to step in at all those positions and play at a starter level. I'll reserve judgement, but have to admit I don't see the plan and am not thrilled with it this far.
  19. The trash heap signings continue. Low dollar guys on low dollar contracts.. Know what that typically gets you on the field? Low dollar results. I'm taking a wait and see attitude, but I'm seriously underwhelmed with who and what they're looking at and signing.

It seems like the writing is on the wall, and barring some kind of miracle trade with TB, we're gonna be stuck with trent this year. As I feared, teams targeted other FA's and many have spent a ton of money over the last few days. Not many have the cap space to add another albatross contract for someone who has quite obviously pissed a lot of people off and made other teams wary/look in another direction for LT help. You have to be one hell of a dickhead to be one of the best in the league at your position, yet NOBODY wants you bad enough to give up anything of value for you.
  21. yeah.. not buying that. He had a good season, but he is not the best ILB in the NFL. Hell he's not even the best ILB on his own team. *unless that was sarcasm.. in which case it flew right over my head lol*
