Last 20 games they finished 10-4-6 and look the exact same right now. Really hope someone in that locker room steps up and gets these guys back on track. They have all the talent in the world so anything can happen once they reach the playoffs no matter how they go into them but it sure would be nice if they were firing on all cylinders. West coast trips always suck. They can still pull it together plenty of time left but man you cannot tell me this looks EXACTLY like the last 20 games of last season heading into the post season. Not trying to doom and gloom, it is a west coast trip against 3 solid teams trying to make the playoffs or solidify their spot. Looks like adding a "superstar" puck mover (that we didn't need) has upset the apple-cart! Carlson must be butt hurt, Alzner and Orpik reported to be battling injury? No way they'll bench 22. I'd really like to switch up the D lines. Split up Carlson/Alzner and move Shattenkirk up, somehow. No point in sticking with something that is obviously failing. The advances numbers still tilt HEAVILY in our favor. LA is in a dog fight and the ice was weighted to help them (7 PP to 3 for the Caps - one of which was 18 seconds). The KUZY slash went uncalled all game when it was Kopitar and Doughty doing it. Ovie got slashed worse on the last play in the corner (why the players were barking at refs). Pitiful officiating. We'll see if they get it back. Last year the mediocre play carried into the playoffs and lets be honest had Neuvirth started that whole Flyers series we might have lost in round 1.
