autoidiodyssey
Except for the fact that if this were true, the Eagles would be guilty of tampering... A team can't speak to a player who is under contract with another team about a move like this. They can if Seattle allows it. If Seattle is looking to move him they would allow his agent to talk to other teams since any team that trades for him will have to sign him to a new deal. No one is going to do that trade without knowing they can get him to agree to a contract.
Voice_of_Reason
Which is part of why i've been disappointed to this point. The play-calling has been erratic, with no identity to speak of, & no specialty to point to. Maybe because it's preseason and there isn't really a game plan? They're calling plays to see players in certain situations. Not to win games or implement a game plan.

Califan007 The Constipated
was that the Steinburg article? Voice_of_Reason
Yeah...and the reason it was the worst case scenario was because it would cause a lot of questions to be asked of Gruden lol...I have lifted my personal entire WP ban, but I still don't read Steinburg. I think he's reaching and trying to be provocative. Assuming Griffin plays: Best case: 2012 + pocket awareness. The savior has returned! Worst case: ineffective and injured and can't pass physical and costs 16M against 2016 cap. A self inflicted cap penalty. I'm pretty sure most reasonable folk would agree... EDIT: and I see this more as a post about Steinburg than Griffin. Let's not have a 3 page discussion here about best and worst care hypotheticals... Let's not have a 3 page discussion here about best and worst care hypotheticals... Yep, meant it as a commentary on the incredibly flawed logic being used in the article, not about Griffin. As expected, Reid thinks the article was spot on lol... Incredibly, Steinberg claims that not cutting Griffin due to not wanting him to go to the cowboys or eagles and see him help either team beat the Redskins was operating out of fear, but cutting Griffin due to not wanting questions about the decision to bench him to ever come up is NOT acting out of fear as well?...Not to mention that if Griffin is cut outright and goes on to excel with another team those same questions will be asked of Gruden and Scot anyway. There's so much flawed logic in that article being championed as common sense that it makes my eyeballs hurt lol...

Paul Cumberland
If that blurb about what the Eagles are offering Seattle is true....please seattle take the deal. I don't believe that article is recent. If you notice, it says those picks are being offered this year and this year has already passed. Was probably an article from before this year's draft. And as we've seen, no one is getting high value, as far as draft picks go, at this time of year when all the rosters are pretty much set. Except for the fact that if this were true, the Eagles would be guilty of tampering... A team can't speak to a player who is under contract with another team about a move like this. Absolutely. Teams need to get permission to speak with players under contract, but perhaps seattle did give permission back before the draft which is when I think that article was actually written. I don't know about that. The Eagles #1 pick might end up being a late first rounder. See above comment as to why I don't believe this is being offered right now. Was probably written pre-april, if it's even true. They can if Seattle allows it. If Seattle is looking to move him they would allow his agent to talk to other teams since any team that trades for him will have to sign him to a new deal. No one is going to do that trade without knowing they can get him to agree to a contract. Since Kam is holding out due to what he believes his worth is, yes, he'd need to get a new contract he and his agent feel is appropriate.

But the best part out of this, that depise all of these, some guys just act to put their short career in jeopardy... And on the same part, with 1 million guys at the start of HS, some guys still managed to whiff on a draft pick on a yearly basis.
Rexx1240
John Keim @john_keim 1m1 minute ago From Sunday: Redskins will start Trent Murphy at OLB -- but Preston Smith is pushing him http://es.pn/1M48D6T There were position battles during camp of course. But the best ones usually go into the season. Usually good for the team as players bring out the best in eachother and perform at high levels. This is one I'm looking forward to watching. I'll also be paying close attention to the o-line, particularly LG. Interested to see if Robinson and Johnson push for pt at their safety spots. I will be watching ILB because when Riley was hurt, Compton played like he didn't want to give that starting job up. Slot receiver should be interesting to watch as well. Also a position that's not getting much talk is RB. Very possible we see change there or even the RBBC approach. The main thing I want to see is who will step up and be this year's special teams demon.

Im definitely not excited about a guy who had two Achilles tendon injuries, missed two years of playing time, and costs us what seemed like a guy with potential. Hell Hamm seemed to have some ability.,why not retaim him on the roster? Maybe McCoy did some things in preseason.
