The Submitted ONES, 2015 Official PRE_SEASON/Camp Twitter Thread: The will to win on the field starts now. (NO RG3 POSTS!)

Jeron Johnson is still in the mix, I believe he is rotating with Duke with time with the No.1s and I think he will still like his chances,  these are the early days of camp, and it will not be until the live rounds start flying in preseason games and into the season we will find out what we have at S.

Duke is a hold over - even though a lot of the coaches have changed and the system has changed Duke is still the familiar face and so I would think he would have an edge at this point.

What is ironic is that he left a situation in Seattle where I think he was being held back because of Cam Chancelor and Earl Thomas and yet neither of those guys at on the field yet might have given him more opportunities... but then I am not sure given the money they are throwing at the stars I doubt he would have been 'affordable'

Keim says, "So far so good for Griffin." Which means he's finally starting to show developmental progress. Need this to keep up.

John or Robert ?

I tuned in to 106.7 this morning and ah, oh, Jason Reid found a new target -- Scot McCloughan.  He's doing his typical outlandish hyperbole to make a point i.e., acting like the first day of training camp is akin to to Scot's first day on the job.  The first day of training camp has some sort of big time symbolism to Jason.  So on Scot's first day of training camp with Reid emphasizing first day Scot breaks his promise about going high character.  They didn't talk to Payton (wild that he has an issue with that after Scot said  he talked to 20 people about Galette).  This is a disaster, on and on.

When it comes to character issues Reid needs to look at himself first.

My wife & I decided to go to the 3PM practice yesterday. She was one of the volunteers the past 2 years but decided not to do it this year. Anyway, a few observations:

The Crowd - way, way fewer people than in previous years. Even the buzz around the area seemed more subdued. We found a parking spot on Leigh Street about 1 1/2 blocks from camp.

Weather - started out hot, but the sun was blocked by clouds. That changed about 4:15PM when the sun came out in full. Good weather to get players conditioned to the grind.

Players - as noted, several vets were observers today. These are the ones I saw without pads: Hatcher, Kerrigan, TWilliams, Lichtensteiger, DJax, Goldson, Galette. Note on Galette: During the OL/DL matchups, he lined up to the outside, watching the snap to work on his start. He did this just about every play except for when the DE was lined up on his side.

Plays - We stood on the hill closest to the entrance. First 11-11 session, RG3 scrambled off to the right side after serious pressure applied and picked up about 15-20 yards. Passes while he was in were dump offs to the RB. Cousins first session he hit Grant on beautiful crossing pattern for a very sizable gain - I'd say 15 yard pass with 25+ YAC. RG3 second session were mostly runs & dump offs to the RB. Trey Williams had a huge gain on a run to the right which looked to be off-tackle or a sweep right. The guy has serious speed and easily picked up 25-30 yards before someone was near him. RG3 hit Grant on a beautiful corner route - he was double covered - for a gain of 30-40 yards. Grant was 2-3 steps behind the defenders & RG3 hit him in stride. A few passes were batted at the line - 1 per Cousins & RG3. From about the 10 yard line, RG3 had a great pass to Grant for a score - fade to the right side corner. Grant beat Jarret on the play. Well designed play & a great route by Grant crossing with the WR to his right. Jarret seemed to hesitate when they crossed & Grant beat him to the corner. Great pass.

OL & DL sessions - we had a great view of the 1-1 sessions. Actually, a good way to run this with the full OL lined-up and 1 DL player lined up in his spot. TCofield got into a little pushing & shoving match with Paea with Pot Roast yelling out "yeah, you ain't all that six-nine!" Paulsen with the take down of an LB #45 Bates prompted some jawing back & forth with Murphy charging in to separate people. Scherff had a really good block on a DE while he was in at RT. But, he was beaten badly by Jeffcoat a few plays later with a speed move to Scherff's inside. It was a real 'Ole' block & the QB would have been crushed. Looked like Jeffcoat started to the outside & then just burst back to his right, running right past Scherff. He was replaced & immediately walked over next to TWill who patted him on the head & talked directly to him for a minute or so. Actually, TWill was quick to talk to all of the OL as they came off of their sessions. The matchups #74 had - Kouandijo - he looked pretty good. Hard for me to see who he was going against.

Miscellaneous - KJarret was all over the field making plays. He was quick to the line on run plays making stops. I can't wait to see him in games. Most of the pass plays, I counted silently and saw RG3 & Cousins release the ball before a 3+ count. So, as reported, the ball was coming out quickly from both. McCoy only was in for a few plays. If I go again, I'll use a stopwatch to make it official. Ty Long has a big leg. None of the KOs I saw stayed in bounds - all were out of the EZ. But, the FG attempts I saw seemed to miss 2 of 4. That might be wrong as I didn't have a good angle to tell if they went over the net or beside the goal post. But, he had plenty of leg on everything I saw him kick. Kai was Kai. A few KOs out or deep in the EZ, but a few near the goal line. He hit all of his FGs booming a couple of them over the top of the net.

Edit: I forgot to mention: Sorry for your loss jflow. Peace & prayers to you & your family.

Don't overthink this. Big crowds were after NFC East title. Small crowd is after 7 wins in two years.

Just thought I'd drop by and let you guys know, my father passed away this morning. He was a Skins fan, but I think only because I was a Skins fan. He liked the Redskins, and chose the team because of their Native American symbolism, not in-spite of it, as he was 1/2 Cherokee and lived on and off the reservations.

Anyway, he passed in his sleep, was active until the day he died, was a Skins fan, a pox on bullies, and when he was pissed HOLY **** I was happy he was on my side (except for when he was pissed at me, then I thought I was going to die).

It's been quite a day, but we had a great relationship in the end and, as a doctor and a religious person, I don't believe, in any form, that life ends at death.

I am grateful for this Redskins family. I knew I'd be doing this someday, but you guys are more of a comfort than you know. Thanks for all the good times and all the **** we give each other.

My prayers to you and your family.

That does seem weird that you wouldn't talk to Payton. I mean, the guy that had to deal with him in the same realm. Do any of those 20 people know what Gallette's like to deal with on a football team?

Talking to 20 people not involved with the Saints sounds like Scot didn't wanna hear what he feared he would. Kinda like what the Bears did with Ray McDonald. You avoid certain people on purpose so they won't tell you what you don't wanna hear.

I think you misread it. Scot said he did talk to people with the Saints about Galette. He just didn't want to mention who he talked to. So did he talk to Payton? He may have. We'll never know, nor does it matter if we know or not

I read an article a few days ago with Payton stating that he did not talk with McGloughan. So either Payton is a liar, or Scot did not talk to him.

Don't know, don't care.its none of our business who he talked to. He said he talked to a bunch of people within the Saints and left it at that. He didnt want to implicate anyone. Thats good enough for me. If he did talk to Payton, you think he (Payton) would actually admit to it?

Yup, 100%...people need to get over the he's a RT/G and not worth a top 5 pick thing. Sick of hearing it.

Couldn't agree more..plug em into his natrual born position at guard..I could see there be a learning curve in pass protection.. But aaagain like I say theres a reason we went with Jones in the third :)..ground n pound baby!!
