June 9, 1972: @NHL grants Abe Pollin the right to bring an expansion franchise to D.C., beginning with '74-75 season. #TBT Although my first sporting event was technically a Caps game at the Capital Centre when I was 2 or 3 years old I did not know of or follow hockey until about 2001 or 2002. So again the voice of the Capitals was pretty much Steve Kolbe, not Ron Weber. Game 4 blew after Metallica did the national anthem. Last night's game was the old adage of a hot goalie stealing a playoff game. I expect insanity for game 6.
