Downey has been an A-List celeb for decades. One of the if greatest actors of all time.

He's always been a great actor but far from an A-Lister even with an AA nomination. Marvel got him for cheap because of his substance abuse and arrests. He was huge risk at the time but Favreau took the chance and went to bad for his friend.

Luckily for them, he hit it out of the park and he now makes $50mil+ per movie since he delivered the goods. A-listers don't work for what he was paid to do Iron Man 1 though. He is absolutely an A-lister household name now and rightfully gets the recognition he deserves.

Unless you were being sarcastic in which case,

please ignore.

He was early in his career but then had a big down swing due to drugs, etc. He wasn't A-list when he did Ironman. That movie revived his career. If you look on IMDB, for a long time before Ironman he wasn't doing much of note and now he's been doing a flurry of stuff.

His contract with them came cheaper than his value though. Which was 100% due to his drug issues and rehab.

I realize that. My point was that, after Less than Zero, and Chaplin...the guy was a lock.

He has always been a relevant celebrity. Chaplin sealed the deal.

He was still a A-list star, studios wouldn't sign him because he was dealing with his addiction. He was unreliable financially. He would hold up production and miss events he was supposed to attend.

He took less money because he needed to prove that he was reliable again. I am pretty sure that the producers put those uncomfortable questions out there,  and to prove himself...he took what he could get to get his face out on a major opportunity.

Not DC Comics, but Comics related. The test footage for the as of yet unmade Ryan Reynolds Deadpool was leaked. Get at it before FOX gets it removed.

It seems to be pretty spot on. Hopefully positive feedback will help put a spotlight back on it and get it made.

Batman Vs Superman Gal Gadot Wonder Woman Training With Gina Carano And Jason Momoa! Henry Cavill Girlfriend Promises To 'Buff Up' The Amazon Warrior!

It seems like in Batman vs Superman, Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman is taking her training very seriously as she sets out to prove haters wrong who keeps calling her too slim to be Wonder Woman by training with Women's MMA legend Gina Carano and "Aquaman" himself, Jason Momoa.

Fighting For Fitness has reported that Gina Carano was spotted working out with Gal Gadot recently and the Women's MMA legend (and Henry Cavill's girlfriend) has allegedly confirmed that they have been working out together and that Gina Carano gave some tips to Gal Gadot to improve her physique.

Aside from working out with Gina Carano, Gal Gadot "Wonder Woman" was seen training in a wall climbing facility in Michigan with Jason Momoa. Gal Gadot and Jason Momoa chronicled their session by taking pictures and posting them online.

With Jason Momoa coincidentally being in the place where the Batman vs Superman production shoots and rock climbing with Gal Gadot, one can assume that he really is playing Aquaman in the Batman vs Superman movie.

Who really needs Aquaman? Is there some high demand from fans to put Aquaman in a movie. I don't get it. It's kind of lame

Yeah he's like the lamest well known superhero ever. They could easily replace him with the Green Arrow or somebody. The only JL characters you absolutely have to have imo are Batman/Superman, WonderWoman, The Flash, Green Lantern, and Martian Manhunter. Literally anyone else but Aquaman could take the other spot(s).

Edit, damn, I just realized that Green Arrow has already been rumored lol.

Captain Marvel? Seriously, anybody but Aquaman

Didn't know whether to put this in this thread, or start another one.

Forbes: Why Iron Man Vs. Captain America Trumps 'Batman v Superman'

It turns out that all of the hullabaloo about Robert Downey Jr. and Iron Man 4 wasn’t quite as simple as we thought. As of last night, Variety broke the story that Robert Downey Jr. would be signed for another major Marvel picture. It’s not Iron Man 4. It is in-fact Captain America 3, but that’s not the real kicker. The word around the campfire is that the third Captain America film, due to be released on May 6th, 2016 by Walt Disney and Marvel, will be a loose adaptation of the ”Civil War” comic book arc that pitted masked hero against masked hero after the government demanded that all superheroes register their identities. If you read said story from 2006-2007, you’ll know that the “ evil” government anti-mask forces are led by Tony Stark while Steve Rogers leads the would-be resistance. Assuming the third Captain America film follows the story, the villain of Captain America 3 will be Tony Stark. So while DC and Warner Bros.’ (Time Warner Inc.) is dropping Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (Gah… that title!) on March 25th, 2016, Walt Disney just raised them what amounts to “Captain America vs. Iron Man.”  We now have a very real scenario where Captain America 3 might actually out-gross Batman v Superman domestically and worldwide.

Lots more at the link, including links to other articles which the author claims will contain lots of details.  (And lots of possible spoilers.)
