You playing the beta?

Yea. I'm surprised they put so much into it. I have played it for about 5 hours over the last 2 days and im not even close to finished with the content available. They have a lot to clean up before a full release, but for a beta its actually shows off a lot its core that's going to make it a really good game. I can give a bunch of personal anecdotal experience if you want or you can watch some of the steamers I like. Lemme know if interested

****, I was trying to access it this morning. No dice. Looks like it's no longer available in PSN

Gotta pre order for this week. I think either next week or the week after is free for everyone. They are smart and doing it in waves. Some of the issues people had this weekend probably would have been exasperated with higher server load and probably turned alot of people off.

Random though I just had.

Imagine how bad Halo Infinite is going to look on Xbox One if it looks as mediocre as it does on Xbox Series X.

you spend a lot of time thinking and talking about a game you have no interest in, that you think is garbage, and that you’re never going to play

But it should just be a XSX exclusive.

I watched a Digital Foundry video about why they think it looks like it does and then played Ghost of Tsushima and a buddy of mine said he's holding off on playing TLOU2, Ghost of Tsushima, and God of War until PS5 since he hasn't played them yet.

And then I was in an Xbox Series X thread on another forum and they were talking about exclusives for the console.

And my train of thought just made me think about it.

So it was about a total of 15 seconds "thinking about it" aside from the DF video, which I found very interesting to hear someone with knowledge actually talk about it.

So apparently humanoid terminators are the only ones built with metal that deflect or absorb bullets.  The others are made of styrofoam.  Got it.

Graphics look good, noticed some Brad Fiedel inspired music.  A few little moments in that video that are bothersome though.  I'll try it out as soon as I can.

Holy ****. Didn't watch towards the end to catch the bullets being fired. That's tough. It's $39.99 on PSN. Kind of a steep price from what I saw. But the love of the franchise and the lack of decent and modern titles make it hard to resist

Anyone have any experience/recommendation for VR?  I'm looking to pick one up for Star Wars Squadrons.  Looks like Oculus quest or rift is a good option?

@PokerPacker or @Xameil might be able to help. I was close to getting an Oculus back in '17. Didn't seem like there was enough out there in the way of strong titles back then tho

Its really a matter of how much you want to spend. The rift and vive are PC based and will have the better graphics and currently have the better controllers. The PSVR has a bigger base of players, less expensive, and is being expanded with Sony confirming it is expanding its VR capabilities. I believe those are the only platforms that Squadrons is coming out on. I've already pre-ordered it. I have a PSVR, and LOVE IT.

I have PSVR and love it as well, however I haven't played it in quite some time just because nothing new has come out.  I tried Iron Man and wasn't a big fan.

I will say though, the graphics on it are not that great especially on older games.  Now it still looks fantastic don't get me wrong, but you aren't going to get near the quality and resolution that you get on a PC set that cost more and requires a higher end PC.

From what I've heard too, logistically, setting it up on PC is a lot more complex and requires more stuff and more space.  PSVR is very simple in that you just have the camera and can stand in front of it and that is it.  No sensors needed anywhere or anything.  But, from what I've also heard, PSVR is not as great at tracking as the PC counterparts for said reason.

But PSVR also has some great exclusives.  Moss (on PC now though) was fantastic when it came out and is still one of my favorite games.  Astrobot is also another incredible game that is on PSVR only.  I don't know if RE7 is on PC or not but that is an incredible game too.  Oh and Farpoint with the Aim controller is another one of the coolest experiences I've ever had.  But, there are also many exclusives on PC too that aren't on PSVR, and I believe the library is larger on PC but I'm guessing there are a lot of crap games in there too.  Also PC has the ability to have mods and stuff, and one example that is much better on PC than PSVR is Beatsaber because there are so many user created tracks on PC whereas on PSVR that simply is not the case.  One cool thing too is the Beatsaber developers actually support the community driven songs which is a nice change of pace.

I am a bit disappointed that they opted to use the PS Move controllers which were PS3 controllers before PSVR was even a thing, for the PSVR main controllers if not using the DS4.  They really would benefit from having a new move controller that has analog sticks on it because any FPS you play with the PS Move controllers just controls kind of clunky because you have to use the teleport type of method or something similar.   Farpoint with the Aim controller was awesome though but again, it was a special gun shaped controller that the game was built for, and there really aren't any other games built around that controller.  You can use it for some other games like Arizona Sunshine but it wasn't built around it and I could tell.  But the Aim controller does have an analog stick on it to move with.

My 2 cents...

Thanks a lot for the information guys.  Guess I'll give PSVR a close look too.  Though, I wonder if Sony will release another VR hardware for PS5 and render PSVR obsolete soon.  Hmmm....

They've already stated that PSVR will work on PS5.  So I am not really sure what that means for the future of something like PSVR2.

I accepted awhile ago that GTA was kinda not my thing anymore. It's not unexpected that they, like other companies such as Bethesda/BioWare, have discovered the infinite well of $$ that is online play, and are willing to milk it for all it's worth (leaving people who prefer single play in the dark).

Guess I just didn't expect so many other companies to just wither and die, and not challenge them. The cupboard is so barren that sometimes I really wonder why I bother playing games still. Feels like yesterday when GTA had counterparts such as Driver, The Getaway, True Crime, etc.

I mean, the Mafia franchise is great, don't get me wrong. But despite its flawless story (especially in 3),  the world itself kinda leaves you wanting more. Payday was good, but its pretty much fps porn.

I deserve better.
