Dan T.
That's a shame. He seemed like a good dude, and a unique ambassador for DC. His sons played football at Virginia Tech, and always went to the games.
G.A.C.O.L.B.
Man, that sucks... I saw they finally figured out he had pneumonia last week. I was hoping they'd be able to treat him. RIP
skinsfan07
Man RIP Chuck Brown, one of the greats. Lot of music legends and icons passing away recently.
Chew
I heard he was really sick a few weeks ago and his condition was getting worse. Growing up in the 90s, I was kinda the newer generation gogo fan, but I've seen Chuck Brown live about 5 or 6 times. Had a blast every time. Such good music. Sizzla3000
RIP Chuck Brown. Easily one of the best Redskins half times shows in Fed-ex history. All the white people went to get hot dogs. The black folks stayed behind jamming. LOL

Chew
If and when they plan a tribute concert, I might have to fly home for it. That thing is gonna CRANK. I was at the "Put ya Hands up" tribute to Chuck Brown show back in like 2003 @ the 930 club...and that was a party!!!

Mr. Sinister
I was always a fan of the old school go-go bands like Rare Essence, and I loved Chuck Brown's stuff. RIP to a DC Legend.
Boss_Hogg
Chuck Brown performed at halftime last year during the Redskins/Texans game. It was a great show. RIP Kind Sir.
Chew
Wow, 231 views and only 13 replies in a thread on the passing of a DC icon/ legend who is one of the most influential persons in DC history? I'm sure a lot of people acknowledge what he did for the city, but probably not a whole lot of gogo fans on this particular forum...there are some good gogo forums out there though...i'd give u some links but i'm not sure if that's against the rules here or not. PM me if u want. byb @ the blackhole probably means nothing to a lot of folks here lol.
Kosher Ham
Chuck was a really good man. He will be missed. RIP Godfather. More crossover appeal than most people even realize.
DCranon21
RIP Chuck, you will be missed. A pioneer in the city, and lots of bands in the area should show tribute to him.
Stadium-Armory
So uniquely DC. Reminds me of High School in Arlington. Hot-Cold-Sweat, a lesser known go-go band played at our high school homecoming. Everyone loves go-go!
cyfar
It was a shame to hear that he passed but then I thought about how awesome the drive home commute would be because Chuck was played non stop on most area stations. I'm going to miss him but his music and influence on music will live on. Rest in Peace and wind em' up CHUCK!
The Sisko
I never was a big gogo fan but I really did like his music. He was definitely an icon and will be sorely missed.
Dub70s
I looked for this thread all day yesterday....dang man. At least I can say that I got to meet the man one more than one occasion and hear him play multiple times. RIP Chuck
