No Excuses Posted January 25, 2011 Share Posted January 25, 2011 I'm a big Flip hater...but if we actually hold on to win this game (last two games...beat two playoff teams) do we have to give Flip some credit? This team seems to be improving. If we win today, we'll be 6-4 in our last 10 games. Flip has been coaching a lot better and the team has been playing well for the most part. Some thoughts: It's only two games so I'm not going to make any strong declarations about him, but Shakur has really shown up so far. He plays his ass off but he's also under control. That's something that Wall struggles with. Question: Is Shakur instead of Hinrich a big loss? That first half was the best refereeing I've seen in a Wizard game since I can't remember when. I never see Flip getting in Blatche's grill (like he does McGee) after HORRIBLE play. There are plenty of instances where the dude should be benched, but he's left in the game. I know McGee isn't perfect, but I can tolerate his mistakes moreso than Blatche's because it at least looks like he cares. I am through with Blatche....actually, I've been done with the dude for a while. He's got zero commitment to improving his game. Wizards bus should have made a detour through Brooklyn and left his behind somewhere in East New York. *VERY imrpessed w. Shakur. Small sample size, but he's looked really good (and a nice change of pace PG) in the 2 games that he's been here. Dude REALLY gets at it defensively. I hope it warrants another 10 day contract. lovetoaster Posted January 25, 2011 Share Posted January 25, 2011 Blatche infuriates me. It makes it so hard to watch sometimes. As I told Wiz fans in Charlotte at the Bobcats game a few weeks ago, I don't know if there is a more talented terrible player in the league. He is just so soft most of the time and makes such bad decisions. Its like his basketball IQ has gone backwards over the last few years. He flips that switch once few games and has a good game, but even then he has a few plays where you wonder what exactly he was thinking. Those games have to be the only reason that he still get as many minutes as he does. I mean, he is a 6'11 forward that is shooting 42% from the field. He could be so much better, but I don't know if he cares. I keep trying to convince myself that we are trying to showcase him for a trade. But performances like last night do not help. That had to have been the most minutes Booker has gotten all season. And I think Flip gets in McGee's face because McGee isn't a lost cause like Blatche. To me, that's coaching.
