Dont Taze Me Bro
I just feel like a RAW is just one big commercial Sponsors are more important than the product It's definitely gotten more towards that way. If they are going to spam $9.99 for the network a million times per Raw episode, they need to make the PPVs better.
Gallen5862
It was great during the NWA days when Jim Crockett promotions came to town. The Belts meant something in the mid Atlantic wrestling etc. LKB was right about the challenges for the belts. The Championship Belts would get challenges. For example either an up and coming wrestler or a former champion looking to reclimb the ladder would challenge for the Mid Atlantic Championship belt. The Mid Atlantic Chamionship meant something because he was the number one contender for the United States Championship. The Untied Sttes Champion was the number one contender for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. You also had the TV champion and the tag team championships. So on one show you had a challenge for the TV championship. The Champion on champion match with the Mid Atlantic Champion fighting for the United States Championship. The next time they came to town we had the TV Championship match and a match for the Mid Atlantic Championship and The United States Champion fighting the NWA Heavyweight champion for the NWA Championship. We would get a tag match for the tag team championships . We would get some other gimmick matchs like a challenge to the crowd for anyone who could last so much time in the ring against a wrestler. We would also get no dq matches etc. It was like a TV show or pay per view show when they came to town. The audience would be teenage Girls plus Teenage Boys plus families and then alot of middle age men. It was a good mix for the buisness They would get a few small kids but for the most part an adult crowd. The matches seemed less scripted and the wrestlers were able to adlib and give their own promos. The Wrestlers would talk trash to each other and the crowd. BRAVEONTHEWARPATH93
That's another thing. I hate how every promo is so scripted. It makes everyone sound the same

samy316
Apparently Del Rio was let go from WWE because of an incident that took place between him and a Social Media Specialist: http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/early-lead/wp/2014/08/09/wwe-fires-superstar-alberto-del-rio-for-reportedly-slapping-employee-who-allegedly-told-a-racist-joke/ If that did in fact happen, then I don't blame Del Rio one bit, and I wonder how he didn't stomp this prick's face to the ground. What's even more puzzling and troubling for WWE is that they (Triple H) tried to justify the release on twitter by stating that he was not professional in handling the situation. As of this post, the Social Media Specialist who insulted Del Rio has not been fired or even reprimanded by WWE. I think this makes the WWE look really bad, and this fits in with the racism & stereotyping that has plagued the company since the beginning. BRAVEONTHEWARPATH93
Where those tweets from WWE real?? Smh So it's no big deal when Big Show fights Khali or Batista and Booker nearly kill each other fighting over nothing right ?

Smh So it's no big deal when Big Show fights Khali or Batista and Booker nearly kill each other fighting over nothing right ? It must be true, I believe it happened. This is just another case of WWE hypocrisy. You know that they're going to make fun of this situation in some fashion tonight. That's just how they roll. RVAbrendan
Part of me is saying, "WWE never comments like that publically... This is a work" I hope so...that would actually give Del Rio something to do now. I feel bad for the guy...creative had totally given up on him. Get him with a Diva valet and have him play up the aristocrat role...something! His contract was supposed to be up at the end of the year anyway, so I doubt it's a work
spjunkies
Well this is the "reality" era so they know the internet would be all over this story. The work idea might just be legit.

KDawg
Anyone who realizes that they need Lesnar to be the most dominant force the WWE has seen so that Reigns can challenge him and eventually defeat him at Mania.

Forehead
I actually watched this last night, at least my WWE Network subscription paid for itself for the next six months, right? It was kind of interesting going in fresh. Since I don't watch wrestling on a regular basis and use the network to watch old stuff from the 80's, I didn't know what the matches or storylines were, I was able to just enjoy the show without wondering what loose ends were being tied up or what storylines they were working towards down the line. Enjoyable overall. It's hard to capture my interest nowadays without some gimmick like the Royal Rumble, but I found the show entertaining. And I was shocked to see Stephanie McMahon in the ring again, that took my back several years.
CrypticVillain
If anybody thought Stephanie McMahon wasn't going to put on a wrestling clinic last night, you're crazy. First of all, she's been in the business pretty much her whole life. I'm pretty sure she learned a thing or two. Secondly, she's married to Paul Levesque. If you think that he wouldn't help Stephanie going into this match, you're crazy... Again. lol But more importantly, Stephanie McMahon is a fitness freak. I didn't know that until like a year or two ago when somebody posted that article in this thread of her exercising. She looked to be a unbelievable shape. I think last night's PPV was great. Ten times better than Battlegorund last month.
Lombardi's_kid_brother
If this was 1988, Reigns would definitely be your next champion. Unfortunately, in 2014, they expect the champ to be able to put on a credible 20 minute match at the PPV (or special Network event or whatever). And Reigns simply can't do that right now. At least, he can't with Orton. I hope they move Reigns to someone else who is a little more dynamic to see if he is better than that. But I have a feeling his push is about to collapse. I'm also not entirely sure where they go with Lesnar now. Having him squash Cena was cool, but they are getting into Vader in WCW territory here where it seems inconceivable for anyone to beat Lesnar. I guess that works if your champ is not going to be on tv much. It is set up pretty well if Bryan is coming back. That could be the best underdog storyline ever. But I'm not sure Bryan is coming back anytime soon.
RVAbrendan
Loved that PPV...even the women's, er, Diva's matchups! Cesaro v RVD - Oh, Cesaro. We hardly knew ye. Still one of my favorite performers, I can't believe he jobbed to RVD via a frog splash. I do have a feeling that he'll get a creative push soon...the talent is too great a few months ago, he was one of the most over superstars on the roster. Stars don't fade that quickly (although maybe StarDust does...) Ziggler v Miz - Yes!! Props to Miz for making yourself so easy to hate. Ziggler excels in the underdog role, so we'll see what happens in the coming weeks. Dude reminds me of Shawn Michaels in the ring. Paige v AJ Lee - Meh, althought I am glad tos ee Paige with the belt. Keep the mean streak alive. Rusev v Jack Swagger - If I were a betting man, I would have lost money on this match. I figured there was no way they would have Swagger lose... mega props to Rusev for selling the ankle injury during the ENTIRETY of the match (something that seems to be a forgotten art). Not sure if this feud is over, but I'm excited to see who will be the next victim of the Accolade. Rollins v Ambrose - Such a great match...I was expecting no less. A little disappointed with the final outcome, but Ambrose losing doesn't really do anything to damage his character. I did enjoy the subtle drama with Ambrose feeling some 'guilt' over feuding with his former 'brother'. These two ought to do a strap match... Jericho v Wyatt - a little boring. I figured Wyatt would go over. Brie v Steph McMahon - Steph was on point! Why Nikki, why?!? (PS loved the slide dropkick to HHH outside of the ring. Great moment!) Orton v Reigns - Lackluster start, but great finishes. Loved the reversals and false finishes. Wonder what will become of Reigns next? His Shield gimmick seems a little dated...or at least his outfit does. Cena v Lesnar - Wow. Just wow. I legit thought the first f5 would pick up the victory in a mega-quash match (a la Diesel v. Mabel). Can't believe they had Lesnar squash SUPERCENALOL. As others have said, I think they may be setting up Reigns vs. Lesnar at Royal Rumble or Mania...and maybe Rollins cashing in at the very end? Loved this PPV. This is going to sound nuts, but I think he needs to go to Japan for six months to a year. Every big guy that goes to Japan comes back knowing how to work as a big guy. Reigns doesn't have enough offense to be a heel, and doesn't sell well enough to be a face....and there is an art to "big guy" selling (that is the one thing that Hogan did exceptionally well in his prime) that I just don't think you can learn in the WWE. A year of being dropped on his head in Japan will either cripple him or make him a superstar. This would be easy enough to do. Have him wrestle Brock and have Brock "break his neck." Do a year's apprenticeship overseas. Come back for the 2016 Royal Rumble ready to take the reigns from Cena. He's only been wrestling for 4 years and that has all been in the WWE system.
