I liked Toohill

As did I. Here's to hoping we've definitively upgraded at that spot and our draft picks from last year at least demonstrate they've elevated their game to "reliable backup" level.

Lucas salary may indicate he's not the preferred starter at either tackle, but the way Wylie played last year I think in an honest competition he would lose the RT spot to Lucas or even Scott

Think they are going to start the season with Corn Lucas at LT while grooming a 2nd round tackle like Patrick Paul - Lucas plays better over on the left side anyway.

Andrew Wylie is on the right side until further notice, given his contract - likely until next offseason. They may be thinking he can have a better year in a new blocking system and with better coaching (who was the OLine coach again last year? Wharton?)

I would still like to see them sign Josh Jones, who can play both sides, and let everyone fight it out in camp. Also, injuries happen....

Ah yes, the multiverse. In an alternate universe, Young, Jamin Davis, and Emmanuel Forbes form a trio backbone of a dominant defense that has carried this team to multiple playoff births.

Saints didnt make him take a physical before signing him?

He's a better option at RT than Wylie. Or fresh air at LT. But he should be the swing tackle.

Fresh Air and Wylie are roughly equivalent.

there's plenty of starter level RTs that should fall to the second from what I've seen

I liked 2Hill2... but now theorize he would come in fresh legs and get a pressure vs an OL expecting the exact same predictable front, or were gassed.  We all wanted more Toohill after seeing those flashes.

Well, he got his chance once we traded about our bookends and... crickets. Likely not his fault as I am sure Ron's checked out game plan was basically rush in lanes contain.  Hopefully our crap coaches didn't ruin him but they did get him to Boof on the cheap.

So we can possibly get alternate version of Herbert at #2 when we could have had the original at #2 instead of Chase. Maye was meant to be 4 years later at the same drafting spot instead, hopefully better than the original. :)
