I wonder if this is a "loan" like the rest of us have to get or if this "loan" is interest free. I imagine Harris would have access to funds where he is not paying interest back on 86 large. 4 hours ago, Riggo#44 said: Shouldn't it be Ex-FedEx now? The dump "formerly known as Fed Ex field". Conn
Are NBA owners just much less visible than NFL owners? Harris seems to be quickly getting more comfortable in front of a microphone as his media appearances rack up (or I’m just getting used to his speech patterns and focusing more on the message than the delivery—that’s possible).

88Comrade2000
If we are waiting for the RFK site, think it will take a while. The quicker route maybe wherever in Maryland they’re looking at. Despite what he says, I really doubt Virginia is in the hunt. My guess they are patiently waiting for the RFK site to play out before reaching a deal. It would be nice if they can make a deal by end of year but I have a feeling it will go well into 2025 before reaching a deal.

88Comrade2000
Kansas City rejected a funding plan to refurbish stadiums for Royals and Chiefs. Why mention that. At some point, when Josh reaches a deal for a site; he will want public funding. If the voters get a say, they might just reject it.

Harris owns the land for the old FedEx stadium and the RFK land is already "free". Public funding will be needed for the surrounding infrastructure and financing of the construction of the stadium. If DC can figure out a way to get a positive return on its infrastructure and financing investment, then it can make sense to have the stadium in DC. Unfortunately, rogue politicians can derail everything as we saw with Monumental in Virginia. As a fan, I want the stadium in DC. But, Harris may get a larger return if he redevelops the current stadium site with assistance from Maryland.
