Yes, I suspect the author is correct, that an economic collapse can become a feedback loop. (And yes, I do believe that there is a strong force in our country that's been pushing the country in that direction. And will fully intend to exploit what they see as an opportunity to move it further. As support of this notion, I will point at the fact that the previous collapse was exploited in exactly that way. Mr. Sinister
@Monk4thaHALL That article you posted hurt bad. I hope we can bounce back, but every day, I become less and less convinced. I believe many of us will have no choice but to leave this place. Edited May 16, 2020 by Mr. Sinister
88Comrade2000
The future of concerts?? Florida to Host First Drive-In Music Festival >>With large-scale indoor group gatherings effectively prohibited for the foreseeable future, drive-in-style outdoor events have emerged as a popular alternative. Everyone from Live Nation to Donald Trump is planning such events, which would allow attendees to watch live entertainment while practicing social distancing from the safety of their vehicle. In fact, a few drive-in concerts have already been announced: EDM producer Marc Rebillet has set a seven-date drive-in tour, while the Texas Rangers are hosting a series of country music shows in their stadium’s parking lot. Now comes word of the “first-ever” drive-in music festival.....<<< Could this be the immediate future for concerts or any large non-sports gatherings? Elessar78
I don't know how to personally feel about this stage. So in Western PA we only got mildly hit, unlike the eastern part of the state. So we've managed to avoid the crush of cases (not to say we couldn't get hit). The area is good about masks and social distancing. We're in the yellow phase-so gatherings of up to 25 people are allowed, etc. I, myself, don't crave to be back out. I'm happy working from home. But my wife and kids need the social contact. The isolation was meant to flatten the curve. We weren't waiting it out until a cure is available. We were buying time. Locally, as long as we keep masking up and distancing I think we will limit the spike and can handle it medically.

While we're only doing to-go orders, my boss made sure we all have face shields, disposable aprons, and gloves galore. We had a private conversation yesterday. He told me we're not going to reopen the dining room until all precautionary measures are no longer necessary, which means it's gonna be a while. I won't get my first check since coming back until Tuesday, but I was told that our pay has been majorly boosted & that my eyes will bug out when I see it. 😎 6

China
Well we drove to our property in Orange County, VA again today. There were a lot more cars on the road. On the way back I noticed that a couple of the restaurants on 29 north of Warrenton had full parking lots and no outdoor seating, so I'm guessing social distancing was not happening. Let's be careful about throwing around the "paid Russian agent" label. There's lots of stupid, too.

As someone else in that comment thread noted, the scrubs still had creases indicating they were fresh from the box. 50 minutes ago, Larry said: Let's be careful about throwing around the "paid Russian agent" label. There's lots of stupid, too. Why be careful about it? Any harm in accusing a malevolent jackass of being a russian agent rather than "just" being a stupid malevolent jackass? Impersonating an authority figure to push your harmful agenda is low.
