Not my problem what they do with them, but don't just throw them on the ground.  Like I said, it's weird that it is an acceptable form of littering.  It should not be.

Its not acceptable, I'm saying make it easier to deal with the problem and it will happen less naturally.

I never see someone finish a Coke and just throw the bottle on the ground.

I've seen people throw entire bags of fast food trash out their car in a parking lot in Portsmouth. That's nothing compared to what I have seen but heres my point: I hate that, its disrespectful, then I ask how much is biodegradable to account for it's not McDonalds job to make sure folks arent littering, but companies should and are starting to realize regardless of the intent that their products that's floating out in the middle of the ocean like a trash hurricane.

Didn't you go to WVU and light couches on fire and ****?  I'm sure you've seen someone finish a Coke or a Natty Light and throw the can on the ground.

#1, recollections are generally hazy of any such activities.

#2, are you really comparing drunken shenanigans to nearly all smoker's general practice, at all times, of throwing their litter on the ground without a second thought?

I agree with you, but two different issues.  If someone was walking down M street and just threw an entire bag of McDonalds trash on the ground, someone (hopefully) would say something and, if a cop was around, they'd get stopped.  Not so with cig butts.  McDonalds doesn't make **** biodegradable for litterers, they make it like that because it ends up in landfills or in the ocean even when it is thrown away properly.

Ah, using the "drunken shenanigans" and "alcoholic haze" defense.

Do "nearly all smokers" throw cigarette butts on the ground at all times?  Counselor, where's your evidence?  What percentage of smokers is "nearly all smokers"?  75%?  80%?  Higher?  At all times? Are you suggesting that every smoker, at all times, is throwing their butts on the ground, outside?

CDC says that in 2018, 15.1% of the USA population smoked every day.  If every cigarette pack holds 20 cigarettes, I'm assuming I should see at least a few hundred, maybe even a thousand or so cigarette butts on the ground while I go about my daily routine.  If this epidemic is as bad as you make it seem, there should be small piles of them in parking lots the way the state department of transportation piles snow after a snowstorm.

For the record, I agree with you and it's gross.  I just like giving you ****.

My evidence is watching people do it every day.  Yes, I am suggesting that higher than 80% of smokers throw their butts on the ground without giving it a second thought, because it is an accepted form of littering.

Only if every smoker smoked all of their cigarettes outside on public property where you conduct your daily routine. I'll go get video later this afternoon if i have time.

No, don't.  Then you're turning into a slightly classier Mickalino when he was running around Wal-Mart taking photos of women.  I'm assuming you're better dressed and perhaps slightly more educated.

Jesus Christ, what kind of lawyer are you?  First you throw out the "oh, I was drunk, so my memories are hazy" defense, followed up by the "Look at what you made me do!" defense.  Sheesh, public attorneys are really going downhill these days, and that's saying something.

The drunk and hazy comment was not a defense.  I did lots of dumb **** that I am very proud of, but that doesn't make it okay.  I also generally picked up after myself the next day.  Context is important.  It is entirely okay for someone to throw their cigarette butts on their own living room floor.  It is not okay for them to throw them on the floor on a public sidewalk.  When I go get this video, I'll be sure to confront the people and tell them I am [your IRL name here].

Or you could just say, "My name is Jumbo, I'm a moderator on Extremeskins" and see what kind of reaction you get.

Ya, I get where tou coming from. And again, not defending it, just talking about best way to address it or open minded ideas based on reality in the ground in relation to why it's happening. It's why I can walk around in Philly with people rolling up weed in the street with cops around the corner, the cops got bigger things to worry about and literally cant get everyone for breaking every rule.  How many people speed on the interstate versus breaking 80 regularly, which is automatic reckless in Virginia?

It's pretty clear in say Michigan you cant do litter cigarette butts, but the intent of their highway hotline was for truckers throwing stuff out their window and hitting other cars.  It needs to be more efficient and realistic how to deal with this, and not everything you get from McDonald's is biodegradable. They sell plastic bottles now, they are shooting for fully biodegradable packaging by 2025.

Nephew is moving back to Maryland today. My parents had him and I over on Tuesday night. My nephew left at 3 a.m. Wednesday, I left at 6:30 a.m.  Man, my fam can shoot the s*** with the best of them.

Going over there for the super bowl.  Going to arrive a few hours before the game so we can go through some old photos.  Got my Marcus Washington jersey out.

Just curious...who is left in BOC? I guess as long as Ronald Roeser aka Buck Dharma is still there it's ok. Never been that enamored with Eric Bloom's material.

Past week I went to see my youngest stepson graduate from BMTS. Several times over the course of 2 days I had the occasion to stand at attention,(being the old vet I am). Ya know,I don't remember standing attention being painful way back when. ;)

Hmmm...I used to work for a Korean company.  It was a small biotech company.  We used to have company dinners with karaoke in Annandale, or Christmas parties at our CEO's house.  Our CEO, an MD, had interned and WVU.  He had a karaoke machine at his house, and whether it was a dinner out, or at his house, always used to sing Country Roads, in a Korean accent.  Those were some of the only times I ever did karaoke, because I can't carry a tune.  But when you've been drinking soju at dinner, followed by Tequila a a karaoke bar, somehow it is not so difficult to convince you to sing.

I'd pay my own way to join you, just for the experience.  :)

I was in Beijing 1999-2000, and our "friendship house"   (the dorm where they stuck all the foreigners so they could spy on us) was next to a place that had karaoke every wednesday night.   Every other song was country roads.    EVERY time.

Dharma and Bloom are still fronting and are very well-kept.  Band is hot.
