It's because we're society chock full of hypocrites. Executives at Purdue Pharma should be serving lengthy prison sentences, but our society, in its infinite wisdom, chooses to continue arresting people for non-violent minor marijuana possession. The same wisdom applies to those groups of people who are perfectly fine with the trillions of dollars paid in the form of corporate socialism but scoff at the notion of having universal healthcare and not saddling our young people with nondischargeable post-secondary education debt.

Not sure what this has to do with the issue at hand and politics are disallowed in this forum.

I’d venture a guess it’s the whole “team scheduled him appointments and he skipped them” as that was rather damning and obviously leaked to make him look bad.

That should all be stuff that's documented, shouldn't it? If so, an investigation would include that documentation (or lack thereof if the Skins are lying...or the leaks are lies). I know our FO is incompetent overall and Allen specifically is a worthless douche but this is purely about the facts and documentation. I don't trust the FO but I'm also not sure I completely trust Trent here either, though he's certainly earned more goodwill than the FO and Bruce. The whole "Trent just wants this to be put behind him and move on" thing sounds a bit like a guy who doesn't want what a full investigation might turn up.

I didn’t speculate on the validity of the  leak, just that it was indeed a leak put out there to save face, and most likely what they are referring to.  I think it’s safe to say that if the team was liable in any way, Trent would have already taken it there.  For the near 6 months he’s purposely been away fro

the team, I’m certain he’s had folks combing over every possible option to fight back and nothing transpired.  Part of that could be that the team docs aren’t responsible for diagnosing cancer.  I don’t really know, but have always thought this was more about a fractured relationship than anything else.

Did anyone hear the “misinformation” to which these tweets are referring?

From what I understand (I didn't see it), Casserly said on the NFL Network that Trent Williams was told three years ago by Redskins team doctors that he should go have a biopsy done on the growth on his head, and he never did it.

This team is not a dumbster fire it's a uncontrollable forest fire. The sad part is Dan is the only one that can put it out and there is no reason to believe he will. It starts with Dan firing Bruce. This will allow the fire to start being contained.Based on what we heard from Trent he clearly likes Dan.I believe Dan can salvage the relationship with Trent if Bruce is gone.If not we can still unload him.

Once any player abandons his teammates and fans for more money when their already rolling around in millions then only thing left is the Rocks he needs to Kick!

Need to move the team to CA and change the name to the CA Wildfires.

He's not talking politics, he's making a reference to social issues.  Big difference.

I sympathize with health problems but I don’t expect my employer to get them fixed. I seek my own medical treatment through experts. I’m a grown man, I take care of myself. So is Trent (but you wouldn’t know by his actions). He is also someone who signed a contract to play football. A HUGE contract. He needs to be a man of his word and fulfill his contract. He doesn’t have to like Bruce. He doesn’t have to like Dan. But he signed a contract to produce. Needs to suck it up and produce.

Sound advise but how many times have we heard about guys signing contracts and after a few years want to renegotiate if someone else makes more than them. If TW did not like Bruce or the team then why didn't he pick up his chips and find a new game instead of signing?

Woof. Feels like like the NFLPA is trying to say they support Trent but something about his comments aren't right.

I took the whole “Trent wants to put this in the past” deal as “Yeah... something he’s saying is fishy and he knows it, which is why he doesn’t want to go down that rabbit hole, but we have to stand by him publicly.”

Maybe I have a longer memory than most or I’m particularly vindictive, but I go for the proverbial kill when someone intentionally does me wrong and don’t care about “reliving” the experience or whatever.

They may not be required to diagnose his issue.  He’s had six months to figure out a plan of attack if in the event they actually do have responsibility on that front.  Seems pretty clear that it’s a personal issue with what transpired after the fact.

just an odd thought, if the Skins don't get the kind of draft picks they want in off season they'll shift gears and try to go player for player

it doesn’t matter. He can say whatever he wants publicly without consequence and the Redskins can’t do likewise because of HIPAA laws. The only thing they can do is protect themselves.

i don’t buy for a second that if he had something, he’d keep it in his pocket. Not after his “woe is me” presser the other day.

Good point about the Hippa Law either the Redskins are putting out disinformation as the NFLPA says or they committed a crime by putting out Trent's private medical info.

Mike Florio from PFT summed it quite well in fact...

By doing his comments Casserley didn't help the Redskins' cause and really put it up against them. Now it's either:

- They leaked info to him (directly or indirectly, doesn't matter much I think). Which is forbidden.

- Or is purely lying which doesn't help the team either...

- Or he's saying the truth and you wonder why the team doctor's did let it go for 3 years as Trent is not your casual NFL player but rather the face of the franchise and have been for many years, they should have the very least be more pressing about that than they did... Which doesn't look good for the skins too...

This should be fun, thankfully we didn't trade the dude.  🙄    You got numerous players who said preach to Trent when he talked last week.   So I don't see this whether Trent is right or wrong as a fun exercise for team chemistry.

Right or wrong this looks to be getting messy.  :(

1. The Trent Williams saga has no end in sight. The NFLPA released this scathing statement, directed at the Redskins, and on behalf of former All-Pro tackle Trent Williams, on Sunday morning: “In our multiple conversations with Trent and his agent, we have considered various options based on the facts, but we also understand that Trent wants to put this all behind him, not relive a painful experience when his life was in danger and move on with his career. We are also aware of misinformation being repeated on the NFL's own network that is not sourced and is only designed to tarnish Trent's reputation. Our union supports Trent, is protecting his rights and continues to consider potential action if a campaign against him continues.”

Two things: One, it’ll take a while for the league’s work on this, being done jointly with the union, to be completed. And two, it seems pretty certain now that Williams has taken his last snap in Washington.

Bruce is a joke but didn't he say a long time ago that he knew the truth. Maybe the truth is they told Trent to get it checked out years ago and even lined up appointments for him but he never did. If that is the case it would make sense that the team would be eager to have an independent review by the league and NFLPA.

It would also make sense why Trent would not want to cooperate in a review and just "move one".

I'm starting to think Trent and his agent just assumed by holding out Bruce would have no choice but to trade him and none of this would have seen the light of day until he was long gone. They obviously didn't factor in a big enough of Bruce Allen Stupidity Coefficient into their calculus and now they are stuck answering questions.

The whole thing is just a complete cluster#$@*.
