He told a story in that presser where he said every time he played here he would go across the hall and poke his head in the bands locker room and thank them. He also said this place feels like home to him. Came across very genuine to me and hyped me up. If anyone missed the presser well worth the 8 minutes imo

With that said, what’s your breakdown of Nicholson’s play to date this season?

I'm no expert, it's just where my eyes go. Nicholas looks fairly lost pretty often and doesn't seem to be able to identify the breaking reciever quick enough to help.

listening to some GB reporters today especially the last one on Dukes show, one on Paulsen's show don't give you the warm and fuzzies about Clinton-Dix.  Keim is also posting some of the feedback he's getting from GB.  Hopefully, they are all wrong.  Still liking the trade.

I didn't get to hear any of that - was it specific instances or issues or just vague over all "things" they heard?

I agree though for a 4th rounder I don't even care if it is a total crash and burn its well worth that minimal risk to me.

Well obviously he was traded for a 4th for a reason, something didn't sit right with the Packers with him. Our gain, their loss, this is a big improvement over Nicholson. We all saw the kink that was beginning to show in our defenses armor when Stro and Nicholson were on the same side, it didn't look good and would have been exposed soon. The FO saw this and capitalized on an opportunity.

So pumped for our defense!

Our defense has the personnel to be dominant and their window of dominance opened this year now.  Like all windows, it will be limited.  We need to be collecting good players during the window to keep the machine running, not losing them.  Every great defense needs strong rotation players at every spot.  In this front, you need a minimum of three good stack linebackers because you need to have a worthy back up.  Preferably four if you've got a nickle specialist at the position like Harvey Clemons.  If you cut Foster and promote Hamilton, that means we'd have to find another ILB on a cheap contract.

Dont forget Vigil.  I think they like him too.  I think Foster is playing good but honestly I dont think we would notice much of a drop off if Vigil was starting.

Anyone know where you can watch the full presser?

I watched it on Facebook.

I bet Dix will give us a hometown discount based on how he seem to feel about playing here and his love for ST21. Also all his Bama boys are here. So I’m hoping he gives us a nice little discount.

We also have to think about Swearinger being resigned in a year or so. But that’s thinking too far ahead I know.

Hopefully they work well together and we kick the bird poop out of the Falcons this Sunday.

Hail!

He's been better than good.  He's been playing tough guy football and consistently winning at the point of attack.  Maybe he'll slow down, but at this rate, he's going to lead what could very well be the best run D in the NFL in tackles.

The run defense is perfectly tuned right now.  I wouldn't change anything about the front unless injury forced my hand.

Someone threw out that HHCD was looking for 7.5 per year, and I think we can come close enough to that, along with the ST factor and the bama boys like you mentioned, will help get a deal done.

I think the biggest factor in signability for not only our own, but veterans around the league to upgrade holes and add depth, is how they perform the rest of the way. If this defense continues to shut teams down, and starts getting respect, and players feel we are on the cusp of contending for a title, they will want to be a part of that and won't just be chasing top dollar, but will agree to a lower number as long as its in the ballpark due to not wanting to leave what we are building.  They will want to be a part of the glory.  The old Redskins had to outbid everyone, it will be nice to be an attractive destination besides ? for a change.

Eh, you don't get better by cutting good players like Mason Foster just to open up 2 million.  Pushing quality depth out of backup spots into starting roles means you thin the unit out too.  And good as the kid is, he gets hurt.

Better to draft an ILB in the top 3-4 rounds of the draft if a starting-quality one falls to us and hes at top of our board

Why would we want to get rid of Foster?...He's been playing really well so far this season.

yeah getting rid of Foster is "Goofy" talk. Dude had 13 tackles last week. 9 solo. He has been an asset not a liability.

You guys think in your honest opinions that the Skins could be a Super Bowl caliber team this year?

No chance in hell, this offense will be our Achilles heel. It's incredibly frustrating watching our defense play lights out and then having Alex Smith constantly throw short of the 1st down marker.
