I remember watching this video when I was around 12 and thinking "This is a pretty cool song". One of the first songs that got me into rock.

I bought a harmonica when this song came out.

edit: Also, Free Fallin' was the first song I learned how to play on the guitar.

One of my personal faves, and my dad's favorite musician of all-time.  So many of my fondest childhood memories involved Tom's music.  It was all Petty, all the time in the house I grew up in.  His music was about strength and positivity.

Rolled up a J in Tom's memory last night, one last dance with Mary Jane (and Tom).  Gimme that old Tom, that vintage Heartbreakers Tom.

I remember the first time I heard Tom Petty was back in 1980. Listening to Q107 while heading down Shirley Highway one evening and they played "Don't Do me like that".  RIP Tom. Thanks for all the great music.
