His racist alt-right base sees it as tacit approval that their man is with them. That the sitting US President is afraid of criticizing Neo-Nazi's and White Supremacists tells you everything about where we are today. This isn't a fringe. This is a dominant political bloc. They tried to move it as well. They are planned to deal with it. Last nights "march" was more quietly planned and today's junk was as well. Baltimore has a much larger police force to draw from (as well as military supplies) then Charlottesville.
