These Big 10 crowds look fun.  Nothing to do in these midwestern states except watch football.

I think you are forgetting something.

I don't care if they were missing 6 starters on D..that was a pitiful showing. They need the week off to prepare for what looks like a very good TCU team.

Haha, diciest 56-34 win ever. :)

Was out all night last night so woke up to see Penn State won good for them

Also regarding the "Everyone in Penn State is bad" mindset, I used to think that because of their cult worship of Joe Paterno but in the end from somebody who knows Penn State graduates it's not really as bad as everyone puts it. I think about 99% of them would not advocate what Sandusky did, although they may be more willing to excuse Paterno. And that was the main issue. Paterno was an icon of that town. But they tore the statue down (although when going around Bleacher Bums you still see signed memorabilia telling them to "put the statue back up" or something to that extent)

To be fair, I think the Paterno library got renamed, although I could be wrong on that. So they are starting to move on. I'm happy for Penn State. Too many people just associate bad things with that school man. It's time to turn a new chapter. What happened in the past has nothing to do with this new team. It's good to see State College rocking and enjoying football again. That isn't to say that we should bring back that mindset of "Football Uber Alles" (which was another point of criticism) but we should also recognize that Happy Valley indeed is a fantastic place to watch a game and Penn State deserves to enjoy football again.

A lot of people suggested PSU get the death penalty. It's not going to happen. I was in the casino the other day watching Pony Excess on mute at the bar. SMU basically had a football program removed. SMU football was pretty big. To see them just get crippled like that is just huge, there's too much money involved for that. Listen, we all agree bad things happened at PSU but the time really has come to move on and forge a new chapter. This is the Franklin era now.

I know you pulled that number out of your ass, but there's something wrong with anything less than 100% not advocating against Sandusky.

Yeah, I'd go full 100 myself.  I don't know any Penn State fan/graduate/etc., myself included, that doesn't want to see Sandusky hung by his balls.

Paterno is always going to be an argument with a lot of the fanbase.  I thought firing him was the correct move but was a bit hesitant to demonize him for "not doing enough" if he thought he had done the right thing by running it up his chain of command.  However, I thought I saw some blurb, maybe a month ago, that Paterno may have been aware of another allegation a decade prior.  I didn't see any follow up stories, and it didn't gain much traction, so maybe it was proven false, I don't know.  If it turns out to be true, then there isn't much more to say in his defense.

Anyway, back to football.  Last night's game was gut wrenching, and I find I prefer being on the winning end of blowouts, but I'll take it.  Penn State should, should, be set up to be 6-0 heading into their games against Michigan and Ohio State.  If they can get through those, they may very well looking at a perfect regular season.
