What hyperpartisan pieces of **** they are.

Republicans seeking a 2023 majority say they're eager to grill Biden's Cabinet secretaries, investigate Hunter, and (maybe) impeach the president

Republicans can't wait to make Joe Biden's life miserable if they take back control of the US House in the upcoming midterm elections.

Odds are high that the GOP will wrest control of the House from Democrats in 2022. They've got a decent shot of winning back the Senate, too. And House Republicans are feeling so confident that they're already drafting their playbook for taking on the Biden administration once they've got more power on Capitol Hill.

Insider asked some of the very Republicans poised to take charge what they'd do if American voters decide to put them back in the majority in Congress. Their plans: theatrical oversight hearings, investigations into Hunter Biden's art sales, and maybe even one or more Biden impeachments.

"No government agency will want to receive a letter from us," said Rep. James Comer, a Kentucky Republican who is now the top Republican on the House Oversight and Reform Committee and is in position to become its next chairman if the GOP takes the majority.

So.  We already know that.  There will be at least 3 impeachments, got to top Trump's record.

I think that if the supremes overturn or downgrade Roe v. Wade, it's going to have the opposite effect that Republicans Death Cult are trying to take over the government. The Women's March after Trump's inaugural will look like a big gathering next to the protests that will come. I expect to see a lot of activity this next summer, because the supremes won't announce before the end of their term.

If they were smart, they would go ahead and kill it now, people are quick to forget, they might not be so angry when the mid terms come around.

Nothing anyone does is really going to matter if voting rights legislation isn’t passed.

the Dems are being redistricted out of power. No amount of messaging will overcome that. And it won’t matter what happens with roe v wade.

the Dems are focusing on “government can work for you” legislation when they should be trying to fight the gop effort to rig the game.

dems are always a day late and a buck short when it comes to the long game.

Ok. And that’s fair because I suppose one way to read my post would be that I’m just criticizing Dems for not caring about voting rights legislation.

I realize that’s not the case.

I don't know where this goes, but I saw Susan Sarandon was trending in the Twittersphere. Make me think, we are really in this God awful mess because of those ****ing Bernie Bros that couldn't stand losing to HRC. I wasn't sure where to post this, but **** all those people that just couldn't support HRC after their guy lost fair and ****ing square.

"The Patriots"  threatening to not support Trump is laughable. He's the GOP juggernaut and if they think they'll follow through supporting some other candidate, they're delusional or willing to LOSE.

Sen. Mike Lee planning to force a government shutdown to block Biden’s vaccine mandate

Utah Sen. Mike Lee has joined a group of Senate Republicans who are plotting to use the threat of a government shutdown to defund the Biden administration’s vaccine or testing mandate for some private businesses.

The federal government officially runs out of money on Friday at midnight.

Politico reported Democrats are hoping to quickly pass a stopgap measure to keep the government funded past that deadline, but Lee and several other Republicans plan to object and draw out the process unless Democrats agree to remove funding for enforcement of President Joe Biden’s vaccine mandate.

Why is the media reporting like there is a chance they will roll back the mandate?  They are just being pricks.  GOP shuts down government because they hate it when they don't control the government.

They want to shut down the government, because they firmly believe that it will hurt the country, and that they can convince people that Biden Did It.

They've done it before. (To Obama). And it didn't work, and they had to walk it back. But they absolutely believe that they'll get away with it the second time.

That's their big play. Vote against anything a democratic prez wants, no matter how much damage it causes the country. If the bill passes, they claim they pushed it through. If it doesn't and the country suffers without it, they blame the dem prez. It actually does "work" for them because their voters fall for it every time. Short memories are precious to them.

Congress averts shutdown after party leaders resolve GOP standoff over vaccine mandate

Congress averted a government shutdown Thursday evening when both chambers voted to pass a stopgap bill to extend funding through mid-February after party leaders brokered a deal to overcome GOP brinkmanship over vaccine mandates.

The final tally in the Senate was 69-28.

Passage of the stopgap bill ahead of a Friday at midnight deadline ended a standoff that had threatened to trigger a shutdown when a small number of Republican senators who object to President Joe Biden's vaccine requirements had held out the possibility of holding up a quick vote on the funding bill.

To resolve the impasse, the two parties agreed to hold votes on the stopgap bill as well as a GOP amendment to prohibit the use of federal funding for Covid-19 vaccine mandates, which ultimately failed.

Earlier on Thursday, the House passed a continuing resolution to fund the government through February 18.
