Corker savaged Trump!

I guess he’s just bitter that Hillary didn’t win.

Corker is a PERFECT example of what Republicans all over should be doing! This is proof yet again that rank-in-file Republicans CAN oppose Trump!!

Get off your asses cowards!

No, this is just more proof that the politicians in Washington put their careers and party before country. When they have nothing to lose, like in Corker's case, then they'll pretend to have a spine and say what's really on their mind.

I just want to take this moment to illustrate how ****ing childish our government is. These men are supposed to lead us but instead they are bickering over twitter and posting pictures of themselves getting popcorn for the big fight between the President and the people he needs to pass Tax reform THAT NO ONE ****ING WANTS ANYWAY.

God damn these people.

And I know its not the biggest deal ever but think about for a second where we are heading here. We are just one drunk night before we get a senator posting a picture of his junk and dropping a mix tape. **** is really good here people?

At least it’s being said. Corker has nothing to gain by what he’s saying. The opposition was supposed to be all from the Left, it’s obvious now that isn’t true. There is also Evan McMullin who proves this all the time.

Republicans need to get off their asses and start getting very vocal, stop being afraid of the crazies in your party.

You'll know we're in real trouble when Trump leaves ice cream on Mattis's desk.

I keep wondering if we are repeating Roman history.  When I think about it though, I can't figure out whether we are dealing with Nero or Caligula.

Caligula is famous for sexual debauchery and thought to have been insane.  "he is described as a noble and moderate ruler during the first six months of his reign. After this, the sources focus upon his cruelty, sadism, extravagance, and sexual perversion, presenting him as an insane tyrant. While the reliability of these sources is questionable, it is known that during his brief reign, Caligula worked to increase the unconstrained personal power of the emperor, as opposed to countervailing powers within the principate. He directed much of his attention to ambitious construction projects and luxurious dwellings for himself"

"

Philo of Alexandria and Seneca the Younger describe Caligula as an insane emperor who was self-absorbed, angry, killed on a whim, and indulged in too much spending and sex.[102] He is accused of sleeping with other men's wives and bragging about it,[103] killing for mere amusement,[104] deliberately wasting money on his bridge, causing starvation,[105] and wanting a statue of himself erected in the Temple of Jerusalem for his worship.[98] Once, at some games at which he was presiding, he ordered his guards to throw an entire section of the audience into the arena during the intermission to be eaten by the wild beasts because there were no prisoners to be used and he was bored.[106][clarification needed]

While repeating the earlier stories, the later sources of Suetonius and Cassius Dio provide additional tales of insanity. They accuse Caligula of incest with his sisters, Agrippina the Younger, Drusilla, and Livilla, and say he prostituted them to other men.[107] They state he sent troops on illogical military exercises,[72][108] turned the palace into a brothel,[47] and, most famously, planned or promised to make his horse, Incitatus, a consul,[109][110] and actually appointed him a priest

-----------------------------------------------------------

"In the eyes of traditionalists, Nero undermined the dignity and authority of his person, status and office. His extravagant, empire-wide program of public and private works was funded by a rise in taxes that was much resented by the middle and upper classes. Various plots against his life were revealed; the ringleaders, most of them Nero's own courtiers, were executed....Nero's rule is usually associated with tyranny and extravagance.

the Roman people thought him compulsive and corrupt. Many Romans believed that the Great Fire of Rome was instigated by Nero to clear the way for his planned palatial complex, the Domus Aurea.[5] He was said to have seized Christians as scapegoats for the fire and burned them alive, seemingly motivated not by public justice but by personal cruelty.[6] Some modern historians question the reliability of the ancient sources on Nero's tyrannical acts.[7] A few sources paint Nero in a more favourable light. There is evidence of his popularity among the Roman commoners, especially in the eastern provinces of the Empire, where a popular legend arose that Nero had not died and would return. At least three leaders of short-lived, failed rebellions presented themselves as "Nero reborn", to enlist popular support."

----------------------------------------------------------

I honestly don't know which historical picture best encapsulates what we have seen for the past year.  Both seem fitting.  Note, both emperors were popular with the base and built some of what we still consider great construction from the Roman empire.
