MisterPinstripe
The fact that Guardado said he considered kicking the ball out for a goal kick on that first PK tells you everything you need to know about that penalty call. The fact that CONCACAF continues to allow the Mexican fans to act like that is outrageous. They need to ban Mexican fans from the Final, maybe then they will stop acting like that. But of course CONCACAF doesnt want to give up that money.
Popeman38
Guardado and the Mexican coach both said the PK was a bad call. The coach said he didn't even need to see a replay. Destino
The way Mexican fans have been allowed to act on US soil isn't putting you guys in a favourable light for future WC bids. Player safety has been a glaring concern the last two games. Hail. Won't help Copa America 2016, which was supposed to be hosted in the US but is suddenly uncertain, either.
Gibbs Hog Heaven
Won't help Copa America 2016, which was supposed to be hosted in the US but is suddenly uncertain either. I've been REAL surprised to see that going on in two successive games with the stewards/ Police seemingly not wanting to get involved. Not what you'd expect in the US at all. But that aside, how Concacaf are not coming down hard on the Mexican Federation beggars belief. The US should make their own stand and force their hand. Hail. Popeman38
The Mexicans control CONCACAF. Everything is catered to Mexico. Their fans have been throwing piss and **** filled bottles at opposing players for generations. It is a source of pride. Playing at Azteca the opposing team fans needs police escorts into and out of the stadium.

Without getting too political in this thread, it's EXACTLY what I expect in the US these days. And don't count on US Soccer to do a thing. They are waist deep in the corruption both in CONCACAF and in FIFA. I don't think I've ever been this angry about a sports injustice that didn't involve my teams. I refuse to watch the 3rd place game, so I hope Panama spanks the US.

We allow Mexico to play the majority of their friendlies in the USA. Which makes US Soccer money. But it also gives American fans of Mexico more opportunity to follow their team and create that kind of atmosphere. And then you have the US announcers and studio hosts who refuse to say a single bad word about it. They blame CONCACAF for not having enough security. Thank God for Waldo who was the only one willing to call out the bogus calls and fan behavior and blamed the ref and Mexico. And what happened? Lalas et al shouted him down. And Im pretty sure Taylor Twellman hasn't removed his mouth from Guardado's package yet.

All of the fighting, trash being thrown at players, horrible reffing, etc. Yeah Lalas, this looks great for the game of soccer. I dont know how anyone that enjoys the sport, let alone played it, can say that was an enjoyable entertaining game. What a fool.
pjfootballer
Add to the fact that ESPN themselves show a lot of "Mexico" friendlies. WTF? I know we have a lot of Mexican people in this country, but the last time I checked, there is only "ONE" national team for us and that is Team USA. But ESPN wants to make that "Dinero" so they cater to another audience. Univision and the Hispanic Channels can carry them all they want.

MisterPinstripe
So far in this game Panama has superior touch and control with their passing. What happened to this team.
Elessar78
Over the course of Gold Cup, while we have been, correctly, critical of the American's first touch, I've also seen them take down some very difficult balls perfectly. Yedlin's assist was a perfect example. Zardes also had one for an assist.

Skin'emAlive
The team will only go as far as its attacking mid goes. Bradley has been that guy for a long time now, and there doesnt appear to be any possibility of another taking his place. So, this is just who we will be for the next 4 years probably. btfoom
Saw pretty good article a few days ago. Completely agree with the main point. Yes, USA talent pool is a deep as ever. Top quality players are far behind those of earlier years. We have lots of decent players, but not nearly enough real quality players.
Elessar78
Where were those that were high on the USMNT 2-3 pages ago? From Netherlands/Germany friendlies champs to 4th in CONCACAF.
Kilmer17
I blame jk for bringing in the wrong players. And playing the wrong players. Chandler, wondo, corona, Alvarado are all garbage. And they saw significant time. Add to that Guzan having a terrible tournament and it's not surprising we lost. Tim Howard has announced he is available for call up again, so that helps immediately. I would think besler gets his job back at cb. This was bad. Aweful. But not unfixable
skinsngibbs4life
Draw came out for the WC semifinal round of qualifying. U.S. Got lucky and is paired with Trinidad (as opposed to panama or Honduras), and then two of either Guatemala, Antigua, Aruba, and one other Caribbean nation.
