J.J. Watt Not Exactly Roughing It

Dan T.

Recommended Posts

Remember all those stories about J.J. Watt buying this remote, spartan log cabin way up in the woods in order to get away from civilization and train, Rocky IV style?  He himself described it as "really minimalistic."

Well, he's not exactly roughing it.   The "minimalistic" log cabin, just outside Milwaukee, cost $800,000 and includes 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, and an elevator, all on 35 acres with a barn that he will reportedly turn into a home gym.

What happened to the dude on here who kept bringing this up when blasting Robert lol

Probably banned lol. But I remember that. Dude was talking about how Watt doesn't tweet and just works hard in the offseason. Saw a few Watt tweets the other day haha.

The fact that this is supposed to be noteworthy, is laughable

That guy was one motivation for me posting this.

Nothing necessarily against JJ Watt, just mild amusement at him nudging the narrative that he's undergoing self-deprivation at some barebones shack in the wilderness to train.

Don't really blame him with the contract he got.

He did actually rough it on a college buddies living room floor one summer in the past though. Did pretty much nothing but work out and barely even saw his family who lived in the same town. Kind of interesting.

We're Skins fans. We're expecting Riggo wearing camo, drinking a beer at 10AM somewhere in Kansas.

That's a good point. However JJ Watt's contract averages around 16 million a year. In 1985, Riggo's last year in the NFL, teams spent an average of 15 million total for their entire rosters.

If Riggo had Watt's money he'd still have been in camo drinkin beer, but he'd be doing it on a bigger plot of land in front of a bigger house... and not even coach Gibbs would have been able to tell him ****. :)
