That sucks.

We can't find yeast, or cocoa powder, or bakers chocolate anywhere.  We have plenty of all-purpose,  and cake, flour, but no yeast...

Yeah, it does because we love pizza on the grill. People obviously hoarding all of these.

Here's a link to a yeast substitute (I've never tried it):

I'm in a group on Facebook about cooking in isolation, I've never seen so much from scratch bread, bagels, english muffins, pretzels, pizza dough, etc.  Which of course makes me want yeast to make my own pizza dough, but no - none available, anywhere.

It's SHOCKING. I thought I'd at least be able to find some yeast.

That's usually what I do, toss in anything that looks good.  I added more stuff, this time around because I have more time on my hands. That, and am trying to use up anything near the expiration dates.

The grits will be out of date soon, we don't eat much cheese, and rarely eat bacon, so we need to use those things up.

I mainly just cook grits is a saucepan with water, then eat them in a bowl, with butter & brown sugar, or maple syrup.   On the weekends, they're served on the plate, with butter, salt, pepper and a couple of fried eggs on top.

I'll have to try your weekend dish. I have to watch sweets so the brown sugar/maple syrup is out. I don't even have brown sugar in the house. I go through 2lbs of sugar in a year maybe. I usually buy sweets. Easier to control.

Update: tried the grits with a fried egg this morning, it was great! A new favorite. My daughter is bringing me some groceries this afternoon, really need some staples and other stuff.

Did my 3-2-1 smokes ribs.  I prefer St. Louis style ribs, meatier, cheaper and forgiving.

plated with garlic green beans.

They were so tender if you gave them an angry scowl the meat would fall off the bone.  My daughter picked one up and it just fell apart.

I like them that way.  Others like a little bite to their ribs, but it’s what I was going for.

PS: I can’t wait wit to see the Easter meals...

I was about to order 00 flour & yeast on Amazon but I decided to check online at Wegman's yesterday morning. I was able to order: AP flour, 00 flour & 5 packets of yeast. I wanted bread flour but the AP will do.

The 00 flour on Amazon was $19.99 for 2 2.2lb bags. What a ripoff!

Weis tricked me and said they had both 00 flour and yeast in stock.  I risked the rona only to see a ravaged baking aisle, with nothing but empty yeast boxes and no sign of 00 flour anywhere.  Make that any flour anywhere.

I broke in the new Grillgrates with jerk chicken thighs.  The first few cooks need to be fatty foods, to help season them

Easter tradition to fire up the grill...

Filets, mushrooms, onions, asparagus and corn.  Exploded potatoes in the house (from aka Friscos) and garlic and herb compound butter to top the steaks coming off.

Stores are completely barren around here. Picked clean. Thinking about a Sam's membership to see what they have

I’ve been to Sams in Frederick twice since all this started and been able to get an abundance of protein and veggies, pretty much everything.  The primary empty place in there is the frozen section.
