Renegade7
First 5 weeks we have 3 teams with a losing record and a bye. Seems like a Griffin-friendly schedule coming off that knee injury, especially if Cousins has to play. You better believe one of those last three games is going to get flexed and we'll have something like 6 primetime games. It'll only get better, America loves Robert Griffin (even if they don't necessarily love us
Conn
Teams with good QB's, elite QB's, have the luxury of worrying less about the schedule. It's all about RG3's health for us.
big#44
Those 5 prime time games could easily turn to 1-2 more if they get flexed. Granted that depends on how the playoff race shakes out.
SkinsGuy
Not a bad travelling schedule, either. The Redskins only have to travel out West twice this season (to Oakland and Denver). In the case of the Raider game, they get a bye after that contest. Otherwise, they have just three trips to the Midwest/Northern Plains (Green Bay, Dallas, Minnesota). All the other games are on the East Coast.
redskns21
Oh yeah..... I really hope those last two weeks we eliminate Dallas and the Giants while winning the East.---------- Post added April-18th-2013 at 08:21 PM ---------- Im gonna try and get to the oakland game too. 4 hour drive from Lake Tahoe. Hoping to make that game as well! I've been to a few of the games @ Candlestick when the Redskins are there, but never Oakland. Different atmosphere at Oakland for sure. VeroViper
Teams with good QB's, elite QB's, have the luxury of worrying less about the schedule. It's all about RG3's health for us. Agreed. Screw the schedule. If you're a good football team you'll win games, period. You can go through the schedule and pick out games you think your team should win and lose. It never works out that way. NEVER. You'll lose some you thought were sure wins and vice versa. Our schedule last year serves as case in point. I don't pay much mind to the schedule anymore. redskins55
NFLN predicting for usThey have us going 8-8, 3-3 in the division. Losses to Green Bay, @ Dallas, @ Denver, @ Minnesota, @ Philly, vs San Fran, @ Atlanta, and @ NYG No that was Shaun O'Hara who first said we'd lose to the Falcons when he was covering go ur schedule... Then said we'd beat the Falcons when he was picking the falcons schedule.. .. SMH!!! Absolutely no clue what he was talking about.
Bacon
At home against San Fran on MNF. Awesome. RG3 handles prime time with aplomb so I can't wait.

SkinsGuy
This schedule really isn't that bad guys.I spy 11 games that are very easily winnable. Agreed. It is also laughable that everyone is picking us to automatically lose the supposed "tough" games (49ers, Broncos, Falcons). Since when? Those are the games the Redskins shine in. I worry more about facing teams like the Raiders than facing the 49ers.
NoVaSkins21
I like our chances I dont see any reason to worry over the schedule.. Last year at the end of the year everyone was saying the end stretch would be too tough and it wasn't. This year I expect the same plus a better start! Also I think some people are over estimating the Eagles, should at least wait until they take the field lol I agree with a lot of your points. Right now in April, any stretch of games look tough based on last year's results. This team has a ton of potential and really anything and I mean ANYTHING is possible with a healthy RG3. That being said, the Shanahans are going gameplan like crazy for life without RG3 and they did a great job last year eventhough it was only for 1 game. Cousins is more than serviceable and I believe can get the job done with whatever is thrown at him because of the Shanahans are coaching him up. As far as the schedule, I can see a floor of 8-8 to a ceiling of 11-5. I say this right now in April which is always is subject to change.
MikeK
Wish our bye wasn't so early. May be advantageous though with RG III situation.
MumboSauce
Because every NFL season, schedule is tough. Teams you count as a win you very well may lose to....teams that didn't make the playoffs last season will this season. You can't count W's or L's in April Could we win 11 games? sure...and just the same could only be 8. A healthy RG3 gives you a shot to win ANY game...and that's a feeling I haven't had about this team in years. So above the schedule, here's to hoping Robert, and his teammates, for the most part stay healthy. Hail!
redskins55
One thing that I have admired about the Shanahans is that they focus on the division. They have our division opponents number! Even before they had a franchise QB they played the giants, cowboys and eagles very close including sweeping the giants. So I think our schedule is fitting for the type of team we have. If we go 5-1 or 4-2 in the division we can easily get to 10 or 11 wins.
NoCalMike
I've seen the 'Skins in Oakland a few times, wore my jersey every time. Other then some trash talk during the tailgate, there was nothing hostile. It probably helps that my group was mostly Raiders fans, but still, for the most part if you don't go looking for trouble you'll be fine. To be honest, I had more bad experiences coming out of 49ers games. One time my grill was kicked over and the leg was broken off of it. Another time, was sitting in front of some dude was so drunk he puked on the ground the entire 1st quarter before being escorted out of the building. The Raiders are an organization rebuilding entirely, most of their fans know what they are in for for the next couple of seasons. Don't shy away from going to this game if you are in the surrounding area. One of the easier tickets in town to find.
redskins55
All our primetime opponents have tough games before they play us. Dallas plays Denver NY plays the Cowboys then comes to D.C The Vikings play the Packers then at the cowboys before hosting us San Fran plays at the saints then has to fly home then fly back over to the east coast for the Monday Night showdown.... NoCalMike
Last couple seasons, Harbaugh would keep his team on the east coast if they played there in consecutive weeks. Hmmm.
DogofWar1
I think the schedule is pretty good. I'd have liked the bye to be a little later, and week 17 at the Giants is kind of annoying, but beyond that it's pretty good. Opening at home, and we have a good chance of being 3-1 at the bye week, as our 2nd away game is in Oakland. There's only 2 away games that scare me beside Green Bay, and that's Denver and Atlanta. Having Chicago, San Diego, and San Francisco at home is nice. Also, I have to imagine opening on Monday night means that the FO has told the NFL that RGIII is way ahead of schedule and likely going to be ready to start the season. Obviously it's not definitive, but if we'd told the NFL he probably wasn't going to be ready week one, I doubt they'd put us Monday night. We, as a fanbase, love Captain Kirk, but he doesn't have nearly the national appeal RGIII does.
ejay183
I dont like all these Primetime games. I have to work out some drug deals with my coworkers to get out of work early since MNF games start at 4 pm in Alaska. I plan on going to the Vikings/Skins game since my buddy lives out there. I hope Griffin's primetime magic continues this season.

zCommander
Wish our bye wasn't so early. May be advantageous though with RG III situation. Normally I would say the same. Hate early bye. But let's say RG3 is not 100% when the season starts. Play Kirk for the first 4 games and then after the bye bring out RG3 against Cowboys on primetime. Love to see the cowturds get their asses handed to them on primetime by RG3 again this year.

Momma There Goes That Man
So where is all the Mara talk now that the Giants games don't pop up until late in the season? Is the spin now, "Mara wanted to wait until the end of the season so he could face us when we are beat up from a grueling season. He was too afraid to play us at full health." Ok, I'm on board. **** Mara!
