OxonHillSkinsFan89
Just another in a long line of great plays. Thoughts? Darrell Green's "Chasing Down Dorsett" on Monday Night Football. vs Cowboys Riggins "4th and 1" in Super Bowl XVII vs. Dolphins RGIII's "3rd and 6" vs. Vikings Darrell Green's "The Punt Return" vs. the Bears Brian Mitchell's 100 yard Kickoff Return vs. Bucs in Playoffs. LaVar Arrington's Interception for TD vs. Panthers (Almost went 0-6) Portis "Welcome to Washington" 68 yarder vs. Bucs.
FSUSkins24
Nothing will ever top the Riggins run. Edit: At this time, nothing tops the Riggins run. RG3 and the Butler will have opportunities to do such, but this wasn't the Super Bowl, it wasn't 4th down.

HOF44
Riggins #1 DG in the Bears game #2 Then RGIII #3 To top Riggins it needs to be done in a Super Bowl. Although I will say this run has a lot in common with DG catching Dorssett.
gortiz
not even close brother ... jesus H, let's not get to ahead of ourselves. #44's run will stand FOREVER as the greastest run in this teams history.
SWFLSkins
Riggins #1DG in the Bears game #2 Then RGIII #3 To top Riggins it needs to be done in a Super Bowl. Although I will say this run has a lot in common with DG catching Dorssett. Good luck to RG three running one in on SuperBowl Sunday, but until that day the order you stated will probably stand. DG's run was kickoff return with the team down by two scores and needing a spark, it certainly provided that and propelled the team to victory. RG's run was the most excited I have been since Sean's many great plays, so for modern era he has brought back that great feeling I thought was lost maybe forever. sempre_victrix
Riggins' run, followed by Green chasing Dorsett down on MNF. RG3's run was pretty epic, though. Sealed a must win game for us.
Skinz4Life12
riggins still gotta be number 1. man, watching b-mitch tear it up on youtube is awesome. i always forget how sick he was. RGIII's run was absolutely epic though. you never see QB's run for a TD of that distance

Sean Taylor fumble recovery to the house in Philly was better too. But, an amazing play, nonetheless.
Bang
Riggins run is the greatest play in team history. it set our dynasty in the 80s and established the most potent era of Redskins football, and our identity. ~Bang
repo_4
Riggins. Not even close. That play sealed our first SB win. I will never forget that play, can see the whole thing in my head as I type this. Im not saying that Robert Griffin Jr III will not ever top it, but it would take something special beyond words. For me anyway.
DM72
It's Riggins' run. Nothing tops a SB.
balki1867
Not even sure why this is a discussion. I was 2 when Riggo pulled off that run, so I have no memory of it, but you can't even put anything else in the same league given the context-- 41 years of frustration erased in <10 seconds. There is nothing like it.

greenspandan
70 chip and the return -- those were plays that turned the tide of superbowls and crucial playoff games. griffin's run was great, but not in the same league. the wonderful thing is, someday soon he will be making plays that are. Destructis
Riggins run. Let's not forget Eddie Browns return in the mud. That is one I will never forget also.
RawBBQSauce
I wasn't around for Riggo's run. I was sitting front row and watched that run yesterday. It was amazing. But I know Riggo's run is still #1. No questions asked.
Riggo-toni
For the love of heaven and earth, how is this even a question? 4th and 1 was the greatest PLAY in franchise history, and it's not even close.
Gibbs Hog Heaven
Riggo obviously, given the magnitude of the occasion, and the resulting dynasty the win set in motion. But in 30 years of watching this team, growing up through the glory years et all; no single one off run has electrified me to the extent of Robert's yesterday. If Riggins started the ball rolling on a dynasty, RGIII signaled to the rest of the NFL that he's already arguably the greatest 'athlete' to play the position and he's here to lead the next Redskins dynasty over the course of his career. Hail.
ouvan59
Let's not forget Eddie Browns return in the mud. That is one I will never forget also. I think that's the most unheralded play in Redskins' history. Simply awesome return.
Skinz4Life12
if RGIII pulled this exact play in a super bowl to seal the victory i would put it ahead of Riggo's run.
Henry
Riggins way out at #1 Then Green running down Dorsett. If Griffin continues to shine and has a long, glorious career here, that 67 yard run will be remembered just like Green's as one of the first signs of a player's greatness. drtdrums
The Riggins run would probably be #1 on a list of "greatest runs in NFL history", given the context. Fourth and 1, in the Super Bowl, to win the team's first championship ever. There is no topping it. It can only be tied.
