deejaydana
There was a national poll recently (I forget which one) that claimed only 20% of respondants self-identified as Republicans. That really surprised me. I suspect it is either a really bad sampling or that there are a lot of traditional Repubs who feel they don't have a home right now. I recall a recent post, I forget which, that stated that Obama has the lowest approval rating of a President in his first year in office dating all the way back to 1953. That really surprised me as he came in with such fanfare. I wonder if Dems have buyer's remorse at this point.

I caught on to his tricks when I sent him a letter demanding to inspect his genitals because I heard a rumor that, as an alien from the planet Zutaff, he appears human but doesn't have any genitals. He didn't even respond to my letter, proving that he's hiding the truth. Why else wouldn't he respond to my serious inquiry?

That really surprised me as he came in with such fanfare. I wonder if Dems have buyer's remorse at this point. It wasn't hard to find. It was a Wash Post/ABC Poll done on Oct 20. Here's a blurb from Huff that also links to the Post and one from ABC's George Stephanopoulos. Oughtn't imply I'm being dishonest. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/10/20/fewer-people-identify-as_n_326971.html Reporting on the new ABC/Washington Post poll has mostly focused on support for a public health care option. But the poll also shows that, while Republicans have succeeded in stonewalling Democratic initiatives in Congress, they have not managed to rebuild their party. Only 20 percent of respondents identified themselves as Republicans -- the lowest number since 1983. "These numbers, coming roughly one year before the 2010 midterm elections, show that any celebration on the GOP's behalf is premature as the party has yet to convince most voters that it can be a viable alternative to Democratic control in Washington today," wrote Chris Cillizza. http://voices.washingtonpost.com/thefix/morning-fix/morning-fix-beating-something.html#more http://blogs.abcnews.com/george/2009/10/new-poll-public-option-up-gop-down.html

Predicto
IMO of course there is & all this name calling & belittling comes right from Alinsky's playbook. I wonder why? I just want to see BO's LFBC and when & if we do I'd be satisfied. Sure you would. Absolutely. Uh huh. Completely satisfied. Yep. By the way, did you ever notice that the only people who ever reference "Alinsky" are the same people who believe in birther nonsense?I've never read anything by Alinsky. No one I know has ever read anything by Alinsky. Laughing at idiots and mocking their demands is not out of anyone's playbook. Maybe if you had one single teeny-tiny eensie-weensie shred of a legitimate reason to suspect that something was wrong with Obama's claim to be born in Hawaii, then you might have some basis to object to people making fun of your demand to see a different form of proof, a document that Obama doesn't even have and Hawaii hasn't given out since 2001. But you don't. You have nothing except paranoia, distrust and stubbornness. So we are pointing and laughing at your demands, as we are entitled to do, in the finest American tradition. :laythehur
Jumbo
OMG I remember this episode. Unbelievable the tripe Lost in Space used to pass off as sci fi. BTW< I know i quoted the image. It begs to be reviewed. Ban me if you must, you rusted out bucket of vacuum tubes!! ~Dr. Smith I may put that under my avatar, and I even have a "bucket" of vacuum tubes for some of my amps/pre-amps :laugh:LIS was surreal, weird, funny, beyond camp & corny and still cool. Think of that whole fascinating and odd cast--Guy Williams (50's adventure/lead movie icon, June Lockhart (Lassie?), Billy Mumy who went on as an adult to play Lennier on Babylon5, and Angela Cartwright who was the little duaghter on The Dammy Thomas Show or something like that and then Doc Smith and the throwaway young buck and babe? But Dont' pretend that Obama's Personal habits don't effect his Public Policy--I'm not pretending anything, glandular-font/reactionary boy Signed: True Partisan P.S......Can I still try to sit at your table if I am just ignorant? You can sit at my table anytime, "true partisan". We'd work anything out that required it. IMO of course there is & all this name calling & belittling comes right from Alinsky's playbook. O please, aR. For a guy who just yesterday castigated Burghold for his posting history being dripping with hypocrisy (and I disagree--we all display hypocrisy, and as political as Burg is, he is one of those who works harder at being fair than most, bias included), you offer enough of your own pop-flys over time, belittling groups/posters of the left-leaning factions. Don't get too holier than thou. You're hardly one of the "bad" ones in that behavior, and I have more respect for your intellect and judgment (usually) than to classify you as any kind of wingnut. And I bet you're a good poker player. I wonder why? I just want to see BO's LFBC and when & if we do I'd be satisfied. I believe you. But I still think you're tapping a little into an "out there" component to even "feel the need."
Larry
People have to face facts that yes an American President's policies will diminish the superpower status of the USA. Oh, c'mon. I'll bet that you will never admit that a President's policies are responsible for destroying America's position in the world. Instead, you'll spend the rest of your life blaming the guy who inherited the mess you created.
Destino
Um, Conservatives or Moderates crush Liberals and Conservative plus Moderates annihilate Liberals. To conservatives, moderates are liberals. Would you like to pretend otherwise? We both know that anyone that refuses to follow the conservative line is viewed as a liberal. I find it interesting that now you abandon the "with us or against us" line that defines the conservative movement for sake of argument.
Destino
People have to face facts that yes an American President's policies will diminish the superpower status of the USA. I completely agree. I'm just thankful we have a President that understands that superpowers aren't all the same. There is the cold war US and the cold war USSR. It's good to be acting like the US again as opposed to the "don't talk just threaten" policy of the last 8 years.
