49ers weren’t 0-4 when we faced them. They were 0-5. They aren’t 0-5 now, they are 0-6.

You are right.  Still have the zero.  I will fix.  Thanks.  I tried to edit my old post - I wasn't allowed.

You edited it.

Board has been weird about editing ever since the last update. It’ll just sit and load forever at times, but it goes through pretty much immediately. Just refresh the page to make sure it went through a few seconds after you submit your edit. :)

Why did we let Zo leave, and why didn't he do well in our defense? Sure, he had transitioned to the 3-4 and had some growing pains, but it was easy to see for us fans from his special team work, that the guy was a beast.  I cannot recall ever seeing a more dominant former DL on teams.  Maybe even LB.  I see this week he is ranked above Kerrgan at ESPN. We labeled him a teamer.

It wasn't the money why he left, it was that we didn't know how to use him.

Zo was primarily a special teams player here and I'm pretty sure his departure was about the money.  I don't recall him getting that much tick on our defense.  Maybe my memory is just fuzzy but I thought he got a pretty good deal to leave that we just weren't willing to match.  I think Zo is the king of all 'try-hard's.

Maybe he was just coming into his own when he left here. But anyone ~275 pounds consistently crushing shifty returners should have a spot on a defense as pathetic as ours was. We probably simply rarely let him rush the passer.  It was Brian 'Bull Rush or Bust' Rak, or bust.

We also let Chris Clemons walk and he went on to a great career racking up sacks for mostly Seattle, with nary a mention of how we dropped the ball on him. He went on to have 69 sacks. Rak to compare only has 58.

GMing in the NFL isn't easy, but I wonder how often other teams let good pass rush specialists walk. It's a key component of all great defenses.

Even if Kelley is back, I think Perine showed enough to get a few snaps Monday night. I want to see pass targets to him, vs inside zone runs.  I think its fair to say Kelley is not quite 100% yet otherwise we'd see reports on full practices being logged.  We do have an extra day but if Kelley is not full go tomorrow, I don't expect him to get much work. Plus, he will be running into ****ing Fletcher Cox. Let's get our more handsy backs in there... CT and.... Perine.

More importantly, what does Kirk say right before every snap..... what's app??

im feeling perine having a big game this week. i no everyone says the egurls have a good run d but they havent been good against rookies this year. hunt gashed them and im pretty sure if perine would of played week one he could of done the same.

Kelley is back. And even if he wasn't, it's crazy to state the Eagles haven't done well against rookie RBs when the only sample size consists of Kareem Hunt...

We've had idiot GMs and idiot DCs for a LONG time.

Typically, if a player flashes good pass-rush ability, the team tries REALLY hard to develop that.  But Haz and Barry (and their staffs) were SO bad and SO incompetent that we couldn't recognize or develop talent.  That's what happens when you have incompetence for 7 years at the DC position.  Manusky is probably a middle of the pack DC, but he looks like freaking Buddy Ryan in comparison to those two dolts.

Im sure everyone knows that Philly has arguably the best run defense so far this year.  With that, what i dont want to see is guys taking a snap and running into walls. I think Jay needs to have a plan for that.

Doctson is going to get more snaps and Pryor needs to be getting more looks.  The Philly secondary is the soft spot. I believe tgey can win with a nice QB to WR showing in this 6th game. Its about that time.  Id note that Cooley broke down Pryor's routes and he pointed out hes improved and its now timing.  So KC to Pryor could be huge, with a slash of opportunity balls to Doctson. Im looking for a big passing attack.

Redskins 31-28

The new kid kicks a 61 yarder to beat the Eagles in a payback!

He was a pretty blah HC, but as a DC, he might have been the best ever.  If not THE best ever, then he's in the conversation with about 3 or 4 other guys.

I really believe his Eagles defense was thee greatest defense of all time.

We couldn't resign him because of the cap penalty. That's how it really hurt us. Depth and role players like Zo couldn't be retained.

I dunno, that 85 bears defense was all time.

the 70's Steel curtain defense and the 2001(?) defenses also would get votes.

I'd put em' behind da 85' Bears and 70's Steel Curtain...of course they didn't win a SB like Tampa and Ravens, though...and those 86-90 Giants too...so top Top 5 ain't too much of a stretch...
