#98QBKiller Posted June 9, 2009 Share Posted June 9, 2009 TJ's article made me think of this...I have a Facebook and a Myspace account but only use the Facebook regularly. I haven't signed up for Twitter yet but it's probably inevitable....so which one do you use the most or do you not use one at all? I find Facebook great for keeping up with old friends from high school and college that have moved on to different cities and are living different lives. I even have a few friends on Facebook from elementary and middle school! I know it's more of a generational thing but some older people are signing up. My mom even has a Facebook account. I think Facebook is just easier to use and less annoying than MySpace. Twitter isn't bad for keeping up with some news stuff, but that's all I really use it for. PleaseBlitz Posted June 9, 2009 Share Posted June 9, 2009 Facebook is the only one i use. It's useful for keeping up with people that fall into the "acquaintance" category, but not quite "friends." It is kind of wierd to me that i have aunts and uncles in their 50's that use the site FAR more than i do. I only really check it when i get an email from the site. lovetoaster Posted June 9, 2009 Share Posted June 9, 2009 I used to use Myspace until I got annoyed with all of the layouts and garbage that people put on their pages that took too long to load. And all of the spam. My friends got me into Facebook, which is the only networking site that I use, but not tremendously often. It serves it purpose. I just think the premise of Twitter is dumb. I log in about once every two weeks. Seems to me to mostly be a method for the attention whores of the world to get their fixes. "Hey everyone, look at me, these are my 5 favorite comedy movies made in the years 1987-1989. " It does have some usefullness. Also use it to listen to local/small bands. Facebook - Great for keeping in touch with friends from middle/elementary/high school and college. Twitter - I have NO idea what is going on with that website and have NO idea what I'm doing. I check facebook regularly and myspace occasionally and too listen to small time artists. MissU28 Posted June 9, 2009 Share Posted June 9, 2009 I have all three- in college it was all myspace. Facebook didn't come out until I was in grad school, so I started it but never went on it. I was pretty much on Myspace solely until about a year and a half ago. Then I gravitated towards Facebook because more people have it and because I like status updates (replaces AIM, which was a staple in college). I have a Twitter, but I don't really "use" it. I honestly only set one up after getting my iPhone. I don't have time to sit in front of the computer and keep up with it. Its pretty cool from the phone though. I've found a lot of friends from high school on there. I agree with Burgold, Extremeskins is a social networking site as well. I've met a lot of great people on this site...! That said I still use FB a lot more. Although I'm seriously considering unsynching it from my phone. When I threw up the Six Flags pics, my phone started lighting up like a Christmas tree.:doh: But then again, unsynching it would have caused me missing out on Saturday evening's entertainment. I use Facebook, but I don't play Mafia wars or take the quizzes, and frankly, I don't care "which old school wrestler" you are or how many 80s sitcoms you know. Lots of that stuff.. basically, you can tell who is ****ing around all day by looking at how many quizzes they took. The Bang Cartoon Radio Hour does have a fan page on facebook. I don't run it, some fans set it up ,and it's pretty cool. Some of the names that have joined it are nice. I didn't even know about it til a few months ago, and here's a fun story. Two or three shows back ,, right after Brian Dawkins got cut from the Eagles we found a video of this Eagles fan all decked out in facepaint and shoulder pads crying like a baby on TV over Dawkins being released. We laughed like hell at him on the show and made fun of him pretty hard,, come to find out he's a member of our fan page. If you want to find it, just search bang cartoon radio hour, it comes right up. I use Twitter, but I'm new to it, and it's for my podcast. Since it's the offseason there isn't much activity on it now, but once the season approaches and we rev the show back up I'll be updating much more frequently. I've considered a blog. Yay? Nay?
