  1. Orton and Sheamus just had NO CHANCE with that crowd last night. We all turned on it about a minute in, yet they still put on a 12 minute match. Smiling babyfaces just was not going to work in that building. We all give Cena **** all the time, but he played along with the crowd. (Even more when the show went off the air). Orton and Sheamus just did not know how to handle a crowd that was not cheering their RKO's and Brouge Kicks
  2. Amazing atmosphere last night. Most fun I've had at a wrestling show in ages......
  3. So who's going Sunday? I am pretty sure just about everybody I am rooting for is going to lose, and I still don't care. It's Wrestlemania, I'm going to have a blast. Lets see if I'm right. Rock/Cena- rooting for Rock Punk/Taker- Rooting for Punk Brock/HHH- Brock Hell No/Ziggler & Big E- Hell no ADR/Swagger- ADR Henry/Ryback- Henry The 8 person mixed tag- Rhodes Shcolars and the Bellas Shield/ Show Orton Sheamus- Shield Jerich0/Fandango- FAN DAN GO Barret/Miz- Barret I think I hit two of them. ADR and the Shield.
  4. Even in its entertainment heydey when I was a child, Gorilla Monsoon still acted like it was a sport. Winners purse, rankings, etc. Today it's a disaster. Instead of "We all know its fake, enjoy the show" its "we all know its fake, lets make it even faker" Yet I still watch like an idiot.....
  5. Jesse Ventura and the Brain beg to differ. The heel v face announcing dynamic is excellent. These current announcers just arent any good
  6. Ha Ha. Oh man, thats the worst. I've fallen for the same kind of trick myself. Nobody would ever pay it up front, thats why they dont tell us!
  7. $250 for tickets? Good seats? I didnt pay that much for the trifecta of loser that weekend. HOF, WM, & Raw!
  8. Swagger is death. They are devoting so much time to it too, but its going to be a nightmare. Nice little match between Bryan and Ziggler last night......
  9. Definitely to PC these days. On the Macho Man DVD, there's a match vs Flair in there. Heenan busts out this gem. "Hey Monsoon, there's two women in the front row wearing the same shirt! Oh wait, it's just one real fat broad"
  10. Because the WWE only cares about one thing, money. And who brings in the money? The hero to the children, John Cena. Until there's someone else to take the mantle of the #1 face, he aint turning......
  11. The UT/Flair match was great. That is where the streak started to be something since that put him at 10-0 at Wrestlemania. When arn Anderson snuck out and hit the spinebuster I thought Flair had it.
  12. Undertaker is 20-0 now. I follow all this stuff on the internet. All the "smarks" complaining about part time this, part time that. I, myself, complained about how crappy the card was shaping up just a couple of weeks ago. But I'm over it. It's Wrestlemania. It's the only time I'm going to get to go to one, screw it. I'm going to mark out. Rock/Cena? Sure. HHH/Lesnar? You go it. Punk/Taker? Lets go 20-1! IF all my guys lose so be it. Unless Jack Swagger wins. If that happens I'm going to be pissed.......
  13. I'm no Cena fan myself but he put on a hell of a show last night. That match with Punk was excellent and one of the reasons I still watch this crap all the time.....
  14. Del Rio is on fire right now. His face character has taken off. I would shoehorn Henry or (gasp) Orton into the WM Main event to do the job to ADR. A quick rematch at the April PPV as well. Use this time for Ziggler to complain about not being given his opportunity, strap a rocket to him, have him win some high profile matches, then announce that he's going to cash in his MITB at the May or June PPV. Then go out and win it. Cashing in and not winning is a terrible idea, and I hope they don't do it to Ziggler. But if ADR is going to lose at WM, then yes, lose it to Ziggler. I never thought Swagger was anything other than a bump in the road for ADR.
  15. Well there goes the Swagger push..... http://www.tmz.com/2013/02/20/wwe-star-jack-swagger-arrested-wwe-tv-taping-traffic-violations/#ixzz2LTT2UCFy WWE star Jack Swagger was arrested last night in Mississippi, TMZ has learned -- after allegedly driving under the influence ... with pot in his car. Sources close to the situation tell TMZ, Swagger -- real name Jacob Hager -- was leaving a "Smackdown" taping at Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi when he was pulled over for speeding. According to law enforcement, the officer who pulled him over determined Swagger was driving under the influence -- and a search revealed Swagger was in possession of marijuana. We're told Swagger -- a former WWE World Heavyweight champ -- was taken in by local sheriff's deputies ... and later released on his own recognizance. He has been charged with DUI, marijuana possession, and speeding -- all misdemeanors. We reached out to WWE, who tells TMZ, "Mr. Swagger is responsible for his own personal actions." 16. I agree. I'm not pumped about Rock/Cena II either, but I dont really want a triple threat.
  17. They were always the World Wrestling Federation Champion. OR WWF champion, They never call them the World Wrestling Entertainment champion. Mainly because it sounds stupid.... You can love the NWA all you want, but the "Wrestling boom of the 1980's", the Rock n Wrestling Era, came to pass after Wrestlemania. It's just a factual statement. If I was a little older, and had I grown up watching the NWA instead of the WWF perhapd I would feel different. So I understand that, but the WWF was THE show after Wrestlemania in 1985. If you want to argue the dates exactly, I can agree with that, but there's a reason why the NWA ended up running with WCW in 1988. It was the only chance to keep up with the WWF juggernaut. It is sad that when WCW dumped them in 1992, it pretty much was the death blow of a belt that had been around forever..... ---------- Post added February-19th-2013 at 02:55 PM ---------- While all this belt talk is all well and good, is anyone actually excited for Wrestlemania? I was actually more pumped for it before I knew who was fighitng. I'm sure I'll have a hell of a time, and I always wanted to go to a Wrestlemania, but the card itself doesn't really have me going crazy yet. At least there's still six weeks of build to go. But it's looking like Confimred: WWE title- Rock/Cena II (Punk isn't winning Monday night, we all know that) World TItle- ADR v Swagger Rumored: HHH/Lesnar II CM Punk v Undertaker Kane v Daniel Bryan (I assume this one is set in stone) Plus you figure Ziggler, Miz, Cesaro, the dancing clowns, a divas match, etc.
  18. Exactly. By the early nineties, the NWA title was a joke. There was WWF and WCW. The NWA title was the one thrown on the ground by Shane Douglas when the ECW title was born. You pretty much have to go back prior to the Wrestlemania era for when the NWA belt was THE belt.
  19. Its a solid business decision. Taking MSG out of the equation. Let's say you're the Hartford Civic Center. The WWF comes to town twice a year for a house show, and periodically a TV taping. If you're really lucky, they'll bring you a PPV. The WWE is an established brand, and can guarantee you the following gates: House show- 10,000 tickets sold TV taping- 15,000 tickets sold PPV- sold out A good gate for the Arena. All of a sudden the arena is going to run a TNA show that if they're lucky will sell 2000 tickets? THey wont take that chance if they know that the WWE won't be coming back if they do. It's not illegal, it's just good business.
  20. Mark Henry just has good theme music "Somebodys gonna get their ass kicked" etc, etc Sometimes that's all it takes. I think Mark Henry is going to be Cena's first opponent after Wrestlemania. They are kind of backed into a corner with the WHT since Ziggler has the Money in the Bank. They won't do heel/heel Is anybody going to Wrestlemania?
  21. This. Back in the day, the intercontinental champion was the "#1 contender" to the title. He didn't get shots very often, but he was a threat. Today? One belt matters. The WWE title. The WHC is a joke, as Cena proved when he trashed it last week. The intercontinental champion has lost 5 matches in a row, and the opponents don't even want the title on the line! That's the worst part. Hell, Monday night, Orton beat Cesaro and Ryback beat Barret. Neither title was on the line, because Orton and Ryback don't care about them. The only people that do are Santino Marella and the Miz? No wonder the fans don't care about them either......
  22. Four? I think it's more like seven. The thing is, the kids like Cena. We are not the target demo anymore. Until the children turn on Cena, he's not turning heel. SImple as that. Obviously I agree, theres a lot of things they can do to make the product better, but I for one am enjoying the 3 hour raws. Watch them on DVR so I can FF through the crap. But there was a nice little Bryan/Mysterio match Monday night. And a hell of a Punk/Jericho one as well. As long as the wrestling is good, I can suffer or FF through the crap.
  23. A pretty good HOF class so far. Foley, Backlund, Stratus, and now Bruno. My boy and I Have been rooting for Demolition to be inducted this year too, but those four already make the ticket worth while. Cesaro and Barret both lost again last night. Not sure why they even have belts anymore.....
  24. The winners purse! Those were the good ole days, for sure.
  25. Champions lose all the time these days. Its very aggrivating. And yeah, the IC champ has lost his last two matches. Every time you hear "non-title" you can guarantee that the champ is going to lose.
