  1. It's WAAAAAYYYYYY to obvious that Mr. Kennedy is going be the son. That's why I think it'll be someone else. Who? I have no idea. I would pick a mid-card guy that they want to groom to the top. He can be good or bad, it wouldn't matter. If it's someone like Matt Hardy, a quick heel turn & he's ready to go. You know that Steph & Vince are going to hate him. So they're the faces, Vince & his son are the heels. Vince then starts doing everything for his **** child until he gets to Cena. It could work. But it shouldnt be Kennedy. A mid carder like Hardy (or Shelton Benjamin, Santino Marella, CM Punk, etc) could use this so much more.....
  2. Wow, that card is pretty weak. WWE Champion John Cena vs. Randy Orton - Ugh. Lesser of 2 evils. I'm actually rooting for Cena. Nobody likes him, I know. But Orton can't carry the company on his shoulders. We know that. Triple H vs. King Booker - I'm rooting for Booker, no way HHH loses World Heavyweight Champion The Great Khali vs. Batista - Go Khali. His interviews alone make him worhtwhilt Rey Mysterio vs. Chavo Guerrero - I don't care. Match should be good. rey will win in his return ECW Champion John Morrison vs. CM Punk - I also don't care. I think Morrison will win, but Punk should Umaga vs. Carlito vs. Mr. Kennedy - Kennedy will win this Divas Battle Royal- Beth Phoenix will win, Mickie James should Kane vs Finlay- 2 of my favorites. I think Finlay wins this one Brock lesnar is rumored to be at UFC tomorrow night.... ormer WWE star Brock Lesnar either already has, or is close to, reaching a deal with UFC. He will attend the UFC show on Saturday night and it is believed that he and Dana White are both in on an angle to portray Brock has an "outsider" to capitalize on the resentment many MMA fans have towards pro-wrestlers. 3. I don't know how many of you guys ever had a Sega Saturn, but I can vouch that this was easily the greatest wrestling video game ever made. And it's coming out for the PS2. http://ps2.ign.com/articles/811/811300p1.html Buy it, I guarantee you won't be dissapointed....
  4. Vince won't help the ratings any. Now, if they brought these guys back.....
  5. I don't get all the Orton love either. I'm not a fan of his at all. Now that Edge is hurt, there really isn't anybody that I really root for. Except for Mickie, of course......
  6. Who Del said it a couple of weeks ago, and I'm here to agree. They should bring back the Nation of Domination. Greatest stable ever. http://youtube.com/watch?v=CUtoEgOHWKs I missed Raw tonight, sounds like I didn't miss much
  7. I don't really care for Batista either. But Matt Hardy doesn't deserve the title. The guy only got over because Edge banged his old lady behind his back. Let him have the tag belt, even the US or IC. But theres no way in hell he should be a world champion Mark Henry shouldn't be either. THere's just nobody on Smackdown anymore. They're all hurt or on RAW now.....
  8. Matt Hardy as a world champion would be damn close to the thing that finally made me stop watching wrestling. FINLAY~! Its that easy
  9. Benoit toxicology reports today at 2:30 http://www.wrestlingobserver.com/wo/news/headlines/default.asp?aID=20183 The toxicology report on Chris Benoit will be released at a press conference at 2:30 p.m. Eastern time tomorrow according to Georgia Bureau of Investigation spokesman John Bankhead. The report will determine if steroids and other chemicals, including alcohol were found in Benoit's body. The results of tests of Nancy and Daniel Benoit will also be released. It should be noted that in toxicology testing, for testosterone cypionate, the drug Dr. Phil Astin had prescribed for Benoit, to show up, a shot would likely have had to have been taken after the Friday morning before his death. While the report will create the so-called "final answer," for the media and general public, it really won't prove anything one way or the other. If Benoit had taken a shot in his last days, it doesn't prove steroids caused the murders. If he showed no steroids in his system, it doesn't mean he wasn't on steroids at the time (which also wouldn't mean for certain one way or another what level of factor, if any, they were in the murders).
  10. Not that I should be making light of this whole situation, but everyone's favorite public speaker is going to be on Hannity & Colmes tonight to talk about the Benoit situation. That's right, Warrior Warrior! And the hype machine is already pumping...... In a posting in his blog today Warrior says, "What I have to say has not been said by anyone else. Remember, I blow up bridges, I don’t just burn them. I’ve come too far in building up the principles and man I am to ever sell either out. It’s Always Believe, not Sometimes Believe."
  11. What are you talking about? Big, goofy, Dumb looking, & he read poetry!!! That's gold right there, pure gold. Great Khali anyone?
  12. And this is why you shouldn't gamble. That is just unreal. I can't even fathom this. The media is going to go nuts now, Pro Wrestling is going to be in the spotlight for a little bit longer, I think.....
  13. Excatly. But if the media waits until the reports come in, they can't write these stories. I side with the WWE here. As someone who was on the receiving end of roid rage (note to self, never make a roided up guy look stupid!), it's not a methodical act. You pretty much get the **** kicked out of you. I would buy the roid rage theory if Nancy was found a bloody mess, with obvious marks of physical confrontation. Tying her up & choking her & her son to death, makes me guess that it's more of a "mental" issue, that the guy had a couple of screws loose..... Damn, I must have missed that one......
  14. And now there's this.... http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,287194,00.html Web Time Stamps Indicate Benoit Death Reported About 14 Hours Before Police Found Bodies Thursday , June 28, 2007 By Blane Bachelor An anonymous user operating a computer traced to Stamford, Conn. — home to World Wrestling Entertainment — posted an entry to pro wrestler Chris Benoit's biography on Wikipedia.org announcing the death of his wife Nancy about 14 hours before police in suburban Atlanta said they found her body along with her husband's and that of their 7-year-old son, FOXNews.com has learned. Employees at Wikipedia.com said the posting went live on their site on Monday at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Standard Time. Police, however, said they found the bodies Monday at 2:30 p.m. EDT. Wikipedia.org's computers are set to record Standard and Universal Time, a spokesman told FOXNews.com. The posting reads: “Chris Benoit was replaced by [[Johnny Nitro]] for the ECW Championship match at Vengeance, as Benoit was not there due to personal issues, stemming from the death of his wife Nancy.” The posting was apparently made in reference to Benoit's scheduled appearance on Sunday night at an Extreme Championship Wrestling event in Texas, with the last phrase noted in red to indicate an edit made to the original entry. An employee from Wikipedia.org told FOXNews.com that he called and left a message with investigative authorities in Fayetteville, Ga., at around 11 a.m. EDT on Tuesday, after the posting was brought to the attention of the St. Petersburg, Fla.-based Web site. 15. We missed Vince on the TODAY show this morning! I found this update on wrestlingobserver.com http://www.wrestlingobserver.com/wo/news/headlines/default.asp?aID=20028 Well, at least Vince McMahon didn’t try to slap a list of questions out of Meredith Viera’s hands. That was one of the few positive developments for World Wrestling Entertainment after owner Vince McMahon appeared this morning on the Today show. Before McMahon appeared, a news piece raising the possibility of a link between steroids and the Benoit murder/suicide as well as the deaths of some other wrestlers. That set the tone for the appearance. Among the more pertinent exchanges between Viera and an even-keeled McMahon [Note: Viera never said NBC has a business relationship with WWE before conducting the interview]: X: Viera called WWE on the carpet for issuing a press release Tuesday claiming that steroids couldn’t have been part of the reason for Benoit’s actions when the results of toxicology tests won’t be known for several weeks. McMahon tried to explain the press release was a reaction to “hysteria of the media” trying to link “roid rage” to Benoit’s actions. “Obviously, this was not an act of rage,” McMahon said. “It was an act of deliberation … There were a number of prescription medications found in the house. Whether they contributed to this, who knows? Whether there was some other aspect for something to do with this behavior, hopefully we’ll find out in some way. “What we’re about [in WWE] is putting smiles on people’s faces. We’re entertainers. We entertain all over the world. That’s the job description. It’s not something to be tainted and smear with this. It’s no different than a postal worker [shooting] up a post office. There was no indication whatsoever that this person turned into a monster and do what he did. Steroids may or may not have something to do with this. There were other pressures in terms of his son and wife. I don’t know, We may never know. But hopefully, we can put this to bed as best we possibly can and determine what happened once we have the real evidence.” X: On WWE’s drug-testing policy: “Last February, we instituted a wellness policy to police for steroids or abuse of prescription drugs. We do urine and blood tests to determine as well as test the cardio aspect of things to test for heart disease and heart failure. It’s a comprehensive test. The last test he took of a random nature was in April and it was totally negative. That doesn’t mean he was not taking prescription medication or steroids when this happened. We don’t know.” X: On 60 wrestlers under the age of 45 dying and what responsibility Vince McMahon feels toward their families: “We’ve had five individuals since we’ve been in business under contract to that died … I can only speak to those five.” [Note: McMahon’s answer doesn’t take into account the long-term impact that steroid use could have had on performers before WWE instituted its wellness program. But in McMahon’s defense, some of those young deaths also feature performers that never worked for WWE or died of drug-related issues]. X: On what type of impact it would make if steroids were found in Benoit’s system: “I can only speak of our wellness program and how effective that is … All we can do is the best we can with anyone else and establish the wellness program the best we can … This is a horrific tragedy. There is a rush to judgment here as to what caused this. There’s almost a hysteria around us. I don’t know whether it’s justified or not. We won’t know until we get the toxicology reports back. Once we get those back, we’re dealing in real facts. There was no way to tell this man was a monster. He was a mild-mannered individual. “Everyone in our organization are well-adjusted, family people. They go to work like anybody else except the definition of their job is to put a smile on everybody’s face. It’s important our organization continue to do that for our fans and move on as best as we possibly can not withstanding this devastating situation.” Final comments: NBC did a better job than Nancy Grace and other CNN/FOX tabloid news shows have done in addressing this topic. But with a lack of knowledge about the wrestling business, Viera didn’t try to push McMahon on some of his answers like whether it was acceptable for wrestlers to take steroids if given a prescription or try to get much insight about what kind of person Benoit was. But I do give McMahon credit for appearing in this kind of forum to address the issue and handling himself professionally.
  16. I was thinking about this. Does the WWE go as far as to remove Benoit matches from PPV releases on DVD? That would render the Wrestlemania XX DVD quite moot. What about WWE 24/7? They rerun old PPV's & Monday night Raw/Nitro episodes. Do they cut him out of them as well? I would figure that they would have to leave them in. Watching those old shows from 97 is morbid enough anyway when you count how many of those people are gone. I'll end up fast forwarding the Benoit matches anyway.
  17. I checked out that chat, the one thing I noticed was that the son was suffering from dwarfism, and that was reported by the police. That's the first I heard of that, which is interesting because I've heard about how he was pumped with growth hormone at least 100 times since yesterday. I guess the media left that out while they were piling on the roid rage theory. I think the WWE is taking too much heat here. The story should be on Benoit, not about how Vince McMahon is the reason that X amount of people have died the past 10 years....... But, that doens't draw ratings
  18. I guarantee you he didn't watch a single second of that "travesty" The media likes to pile on pro wrestling, and this is all the fuel they need.
  19. A helpful, insightful post as always. And at 8pm last night, we all thought he was too. We all were devistated when we heard the news that he had died. They had three hours to fill, and one of their marquee stars, who everyone liked & respected had just passed away. Nobody could have possibly thought that things would have ended up the way they did. I saw this posted in the Bill Simmons chat today on ESPN.com, I think this sums things up pretty good...... Just one more thought on the Benoit situation for the non-wrestling fans. This was the equivalent of a Derek Fisher or Donovan Mcnabb or Derek Jeter committing the act, one of the most recognizable class acts of a sport. The man was known as classy individual and had the respect of everyone he worked with. If your kid was going to be a wrestler, you would have wanted him to be Chris Benoit. This is why it is so hard for the wrestling community to come to grip with this tragedy.
  20. The "Text message" PWTorch.com -- "PWTorch can now report the content of the text message sent by Chris Benoit to Chavo Guerrero on Sunday morning. The message, according to our sources, said that the sliding glass doors to his house were open and the dogs had been fed. No one was quite sure what to make of it, but he wasn't reachable afterward for clarification."
  21. 1wrestling now is reporting that Vince is going to apologize for running a Chris Benoit tribute show last night. He's going to do that tonight on ECW, in about a 1/2 hour....
  22. Got home from work & made my rounds again. I found this from 1wrestling.com http://www.1wrestling.com/news/newsline.asp?news=29059 WARNING SIGNS THAT SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH CHRIS BENOIT By: Bob Ryder 6/26/2007 5:08:55 PM In speaking with close friends and confidants of Chris Benoit contacted this afternoon, apparently there were some warning signs that something was wrong with Benoit. Some of the information learned by 1Wrestling.com by colleagues and friends that did not want to be quoted: "This wasn't roid rage, this was insanity. Roid rage doesn't last for 48 hours. There were signs that something was wrong. Stories have emerged that a year ago he became paranoid and believed he was being followed. He wouldn't let Nancy leave the house because he believed someone was out to get them." “Chris hated religion. He didn't believe in it. I cannot comprehend him putting bibles by the bodies. I am shocked.” In addition, 1Wrestling has learned that sources close to Nancy are reporting that she had a safety deposit box with evidence of past rages and that authorities should check the box if anything ever happened to her.
  23. I don't see how they could have known. It's not like the infamous text message read: I just killed my family, now I'm going to kill myself. I'm sure the message was vague, and it wasn't until after they were found dead that people started to piece things together. At 8 pm last night, there was no way that the WWE could have known what transpired. If they did, they would not have put on the tribute show that they did last night. My proof is how fast they rid themselves from everything Benoit today....
