Being stubborn and sticking to your guns is ok sometimes...especially if you actually have a leg to stand on (as opposed to this thread starter). But sometimes you just have to admit you were wrong when faced with factual evidence to the contrary.

This reminds me of that Dave Chappelle skit "When keeping it real goes wrong"

I would have rather this been a PM rather than a public post, but it seems as though I don't have that ability anymore.

First off, even in this thread, I mentioned "sucks" being too strong a word for what I was getting at. It was intended to get as many people involved in the discussion as possible. Looking at it now, I think it would have been more prudent to select a title like "Andre Carter is Weak in the Run Game."

Secondly, I'm no troll. My track record speaks for itself. I'm an ardent supporter of everyone on the team, regardless of whether or not I feel they are producing as they should.

Furthermore, I did not attack Andre Carter on a personal level. Saying someone is weak at a particular aspect of his profession isn't exactly the same thing as saying his mom is a whore. I like the guy, and I've said as much in this thread.

Finally, everyone has the right to critique my posts on this board, but quite frankly, that's not what's going on. You may not feel as though Carter has underperformed at times, but I have, and there were a few others that did, too. To say the debate is one-sided is inaccurate. The vast majority side with Carter right now, and that may change after a few poor games. I know that I felt Carter had an awesome game, which I've also stated. That doesn't mean that my perceived deficiencies of his game have disappeared.

When you edit a post I made to "D'Pablo Sucks," you're not inviting debate over my post. It's not even taking part in a good natured ribbing. As Art has made mention, this is now about making an example of me in a public flogging. That's personal. It's no longer about a team that we all love. Knowing that extremeskins.com is a part of the Redskins organization, I can't help but feel that some of this love is lost.

Honestly, you wouldn't take so much flack for this if you hadn't set the bar so high for what you expect out of a DE. Andre is a pass-rushing specialist who is not altogether terrible in the run game and doesn't need to be fantastic because of the guys behind him. Incidentally, he has been great at what we brought him here to do (even if it took him half a season to re-adjust to the position and get comfortable in this defense).

You're like a lot of the ESers who expect Carlos Rogers to be a true shutdown corner. He's great in run support, he can hold his own in coverage, and he's a solid tackler... but he is not perfect. Hell, the only player in the league who comes close to being a shutdown corner is Champ Bailey and I have a hard time believing that you think Carter would be an easy player to replace skills-wise.

I'm amazed after the beatdown you've received, you still won't say you were wrong...

And you did attack Carter on a personal level. Was the title of your original post something other than "Andre Carter Sucks"? Well, you're talking about him in his profession, his career...which is personal. Better believe if someone tells me I suck at my job, I'll be taking that personally....would you not do the same?

And yes, you backtracked on the use of the word "sucks" only after not one person agreed with you after your initial post. The fact that you claim that you used the word to get more people to participate smells like a huge steaming load of BS. It's an inflammatory word but I'm willing to bet that if more people piled onto your bandwagon you wouldn't be retracting the use of that word.

Lastly, ES is part of the Skins organization, but it didn't start out that way. ES was started by some people who were big fans and then the Redskins bought the site under the terms that nothing about the site would change (except the Babe Thread, R.I.P.). That included the way it was run and who the mods were.

So if you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen. If you're willing to say that Andre Carter sucks, you shouldn't be crying when someone turns around and throws the same insult back at you.

Art and I have a passive/aggressive relationship. He is a big koala bear.......and I dont always agree with him. I would think he would not want people to agree with him all the time just because he is a mod. He might SAY he likes it......but I think ART likes a challenge.

Carter has underperformed at times. Peppers has. Every player in the league has. The only way Carter has failed to live up to your expectations of him the last 10 games or so is if YOU played unrealistic expectations on him, thus, making an invalid evaluation.

Carter is not great against the run. He's not bad against it either. It is doubtless he will have a spell where he's not very productive a he's been the last 10 weeks or so. All players do. This is not surprising. Teams will adjust to him and force us to beat them differently than we are now. This is how it works.

Yes, had you suggested Carter was weak against the run, while still incorrect, you'd have lacked the troll feel to your post. Had you additionally followed it up with any shared observation anyone else would recognize as you paying attention, it would have gone further. You chose, as you've said, to get attention. You got it.

THAT is what you OWE an apology for.

And if you think that means the Redskins organization doesn't love you any more, I recommend you put your blankie down stop looking for mommy. You did exactly what people here said you did.

And you're too much of a jerk to say, "You know what guys, that was bad form on my part. Let's move on." Once you do that, everyone forgets about you and starts picking on targets who need it. Sadly for you, that still is you.

In response to your comments you encourage me to read your posts on other ES'ers who feel the same way I do, and in these posts, people say that he is entitled to his opinion as long as he has some sort of viable evidence to back his beliefs up.

In one of the posts, you tell stevenaa that no one is entitled to be wrong and to say something that is absolutely untrue...But what D'Pablo argues is not exactly untrue. As he keeps providing valid arguements to back his statements, the only thing that the ES team plans on doing is to keep Tar and Feathering this poor guy.

Even one of the more popular posters, Monkart, has voiced his opinion on this disturbing issue, and states that this has gone to far ...but you still attempt to humiliate this guy over ES Messaging Board, just because you think his opinions are wrong.

In the next posting it reads then, how you tell everyone that if we dont like how you feel then we are not needed here and encouraged to leave. Your exact wording is...

Go post elsewhere. Don't stay. We don't want you. We don't need you. We don't like you.

Who exactly is we? We including just you and your friends in the Moderation staff? Im pretty sure that if we ran a poll on how many people like D'Pablo, a large majority would'nt favor you. Just because he simply wants to state an arguement doesnt make him a bad person. But you and members of the Mod team still press on personal attacks to him...which by the way, is even against the rules that you guys are supposed to be enforcing...

But what you dont realize is you guys have alot of power on these boards, and im sure since you dont have a profession in moderating boards, its clearly not that important to you especially when you have posted over 26,000 threads in a 7 year time period that you guys are just to be looked upon as average fans when questioned for your actions. So it gives you the right to do whatever you please since you clearly have alot of power over the thousands of members in this board... Thats a big deal.

So after reading and going through all the posts that you requested I read over again...I've still come to the conclusion that you would expect alot more especially from the leaders from these Message Boards. Whether you guys like it or not, what you guys say and post has a larger effect on people then people who've only been around for a couple of weeks. As D'Pablo tries to fightback, with the limited amount of priveleges hes problably has now, at least is taking responsiblity for his actions to either stand or fall by his words. Now its your guys turn. Except no ones making you go back to 5th grade by making you ask for apologys, just shut down these kinds of threads and lets forget that this stuff ever happend for our sake. Its very embarrassing for the ES Staff especially noticing that the average staff member ages around late 30's early 40's.

It just shows that maturity cant be based upon how old you are...

I hate to go into this much analysis about a certain topic but I cant let actions like this go by unharmed, especially when there flat our wrong. Hopefully if you do feel the same way express yourself because word doesnt get around here without numbers.
