Going Commando
Didn't realize Sinnott was so low on the consensus boards. I had him at 58 on my board, so for me we got him at about his natural slot. I don't understand why he was outside the top 100 for so many sources. What am I missing? I didn't see any weaknesses and he popped on film like LaPorta did last year. 1

He made my guys list, too But I noticed PFF, Brugler among others weren't that high on him. He can do it all, agree. And he has both good production and a good RAS score. Only thing about him that I can see some hesitate on his seperation skills don't jump out at me watching him in the same way like for example Laporta did last year. Some in the media have claimed he is an "average" route runner and struggles to consistently make clean breaks. And that he is an average blocker, but he has put weight on his frame, which should help. I think he is pretty versatile. You can line him up in the slot or the backfield and seems to exploit soft spots in coverage, which Kelce with Kansas City does a lot.
Skinsinparadise
PFf blocking grades. Barner best, Sinnott 2nd best, feels right to me, PFF is weird about Sinnott like they were with Quan Martin last year. They both scored well on their individual metrics but they felt the sum of their parts is less than the whole. I disagreed with them about Martin. And I disagree with them about Sinnott 3
Skinsinparadise
Sidebar. Hearing about Peters working around the clock nonstop and barely even saw his familly since he got here. Quinn I heard has been coming in 5 amish in the off season and has gone at it nonstop, I appreciate Ron being a nice guy working for a douche owner and an organization desperate for class. But aside from that with the benefit of hindsight he was a poor man's Bruce Allen (but way classier than Bruce). Like Bruce, he treated mediocrity like success and with an odd swagger and complacency about their off seasons. Bruce in retrospect was better with personnel. Both both below average at their job. I'll grant Dan made them along everyone worse at their jobs. Both were obsessed with winning off the field. Bruce lost off the field big time though claimed victory. Ron actually did win off the field but seemed to want to be celebrated for it as if that alone changed the culture. To me changing the culture isn't just about not being a douche -- its also about building a winning culture. Building a winning culture isn't about being a nice guy alone. Sheehan rebroadcasted this off season Ron's farewell press conference in Carolina and the dude came off a bit angry and defiant. And he came here with the swagger of there was nothing to learn from his mediocre run in Carolina. Quinn is 180 from that. He's so obsessed with being a better HC he hired a firm to interview people he's worked with to scope out how to do it better. He comes off manical in his desire to kill it this time It's tough to build Rome in a day. But my gut is that this defense is already going to be top 10. They will need another off season to build the O line. I think Jayden has a good shot to be the answer at QB. The sky is brighter to me. Its nit picky though and ultimately I think we got a good football player.

skinny21
Obviously there’s personal preference in terms of rating our draft - how we rate guys, did they give Daniels enough help, did they address OL adequately, etc. However, landing arguably a top 2 QB, a top 2 DT, a top 2 slot corner, and a top 2 TE… that’s promising to say the least. I’ll add that I’m a fan of McGee and Hampton getting a chance to learn behind Wagner and Chinn. One other note - this defensive staff has a lot of really interesting toys to play with.

Suamataia was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs at No. 63. I wish Standig would specify what the concerns were. It's too vague to judge whether or not we were justified in passing over him based on them without knowing the nature of the concerns. I heard a rumor that he was homesick at Oregon and that's why things didn't work out there, but if that's the concern, that would not have kept me from picking him. With that said, between the draft and FA, we did give him 2 TEs, 2 OTs*, 2 IOL, a quality 3rd down back, and a (slot) receiver of the future. * I know Lucas was here last year, and there’s a legitimate question about him manning the LT spot, but 1) he was still a FA they signed, and 2) he’s at the least a quality swing tackle. Very similar builds and testing: Laporta ran a better 40, but Sinnott's jumps were better. Feels like the main difference between them is Laporta's hands are bigger, but Sinnott is a little bigger overall. I think they're really similar players, both F / H-Back TEs in the Chris Cooley vein, both soft-handed pluckers with exceptional contested catch skills. Unlike Cooley and Laporta, Sinnott is a true dog as a blocker. It's water under the bridge now, but when I was watching Sinnott, it occurred to me that Will Howard is the guy that Drake Maye's critics thought he was. I feel like that kind of summed up the lack of perspective that they had. But now that Howard is going to get tutored by a guru in Ryan Day and play with all of that blue chip talent, I can see him becoming a high quality NFL prospect next year. He would be my early pick for QB1.

According to Tony Pauline, Kingsley’s Coaches badmouthed him to potential teams. Supposedly he faked an injury before their last game of the season because he didn’t want to play. Believe BYU still needed the win for competitive reasons.

FootballZombie
Huh... It just hit me how little tragedy porn there was in the draft this year. Usually they are all up in your face about if a guy so much as stubbed his toe once. I guess the NFL got the memo on that front. Greatly appreciated.

CommDownMan
1 minute ago, Riggo#44 said: Or, you know, give the players time to actually take a snap before making any judgements I think you can do both. I think Peters did well with the draft. But judging the draft should include all the 2025 picks that Roseman got. His ability to move about is really impressive (which sucks). That being said, part of that ability is having done it over several years, his team has a stronger base to work with. As a result, there is less need to build the roster and allows for more gambles. Trading out of 3 picks for future picks means you have a team that is well built now (generally), and Peters didn't inherit that luxury. We had one successful trade down and at least 2 mentions of failed trade ups (end of first and end of second I think). Whether it was first draft nerves, sticking to the board or simply working through being the top guy with all it entails, there were times it appears we weren't able to get our guy. I do wonder if Coleman was the target and 49ers did Peters a solid saying that wasn't who KC wanted (but we'll never know). I think grrading the ability to move around can be judge now, as it has nothing to do with players suscess of the field. Peters did well from a handling the responsibility point of view. Any of us doing something for the first time there is going be room for improvement.. Comparing him to Roseman at this point is a high bar. There are pkenty of GMs that did far worse with more experience. However, the goal should be the best and to do that we need to beat the best. For Peters that is as a GM and his target should be beating GMs for Eagles, Ravens, Steelers. It was a solid start, but I believe there will be some lessons learned and there is room for improvement.
Chump Bailey
Easy A for me. So glad Peter's is here. The difference between this draft and our prior ones is night and day for me right off the bat.

Snap judgments are the only judgments that matter. Who cares what a player does in 3, 5, 7 years? Where they were supposed to go in the draft is what matters. Conn
3 hours ago, Ball Security said: It’s fun to get excited about this year’s picks under a new regime, but it’ll take time to see how they pan out. We can put a bow on Rivera’s four drafts: 2020 Young - fifth year option not picked up. Gibson - signed 2nd contract in FA ($5.3M guaranteed) Charles - signed 2nd contract in FA (1 year $250k guaranteed) Gandy-Golden - retired early Ismael - cut within four years, bounced around, currently guaranteed $25k in AZ Hudson - signed 2nd contract ($491,500 guaranteed) Curl - signed 2nd contract ($6M guaranteed) Smith-Williams - signed 2nd contract ($167k guaranteed) 2021 Davis - no fifth year option Cosmi - starting guard, potential building block St-Juste - 37 games played in 3 seasons Dyami Brown - 2024 bubble player/roster casualty John Bates - blocking TE, 508 yards in 3 years Darrick Forrest - still in the mix at S Cheeseman - LS couldn’t last 3 seasons. Bradley-King - on and off the roster now in NE with no guarantee money Toney - took a bet on himself, but is no longer on the team. Milne - on and off the roster. Currently outside the top 6 WR under contract. 2022* Dotson - needs a bounce back year 3 to get a fifth year option. Mathis - injury riddled two years, DT3 was drafted early in 2024. Cut candidate Robinson Jr. - starting RB Sam Howell - 1 year starter, traded away. Cole Turner - roster bubble Chris Paul - roster bubble Holmes - roster bubble * traded back to get extra picks, but passed on Chris Olave and Kyle Hamilton 2023 Forbes - couldn’t play at all in last year’s scheme. Maybe new coaches can salvage. Martin - chess piece for Whitt Jr Stromberg - team signed two centers and a guard this offseason Daniels - roster bubble Henry - roster bubble Rodriguez - back of the roster RB Jones - roster bubble. 33 selections for the Rivera era. I would expect only 9 to definitely make the 2024 roster, with an additional 9 maybes. This post should qualify as hate speech it offends me so much 1
Veretax
I'd say A or A- the - depends on the OL from TCU they took and the last pick in the 7th. the rest of the picks I think are sure fire fits.
