Which also means Eberflus probably keeps his job, so less competition for us

Nah, they’re starting over either way and have the Panthers #1 pick either way. Fields is just bolstering his trade value for the next staff, basically

This is why we have to finish ahead of them in the draft. Trade back right in front of them for someone who wants Daniels and isn’t afraid to do something stupid to get him. Las Vegas, I am looking in your direction

Yes we either IMO want to take Daniels or make a trade to keep him out of this division.

The Giants are limited because of their QB, I am no way bailing them out of what has plagued them

That's an easy problem to solve:  get the QB you truly believe is going to be the guy you have for the next decade +, and if you don't believe you can protect him right away, sit him.  Boom.  End of story.

That would have worked in the old NFL. Gibbs 1.0 always had his young QB's holding the clipboard. In today's NFL, if you draft a QB in the 1st round, the expectation is that he starts right away. Just imagine the outcry from fans and the media if you have your 1st round QB sitting.

The Bears would be smart to get a haul for that #1 pick. They already have a very good QB that will do nothing but improve.

No clue what we're going to do at this point.

Nah. His rookie contract has already mostly been wasted, they’ll be smart to start over with Caleb Williams on 4+ cheap years and a new staff. Fields will draw decent trade return though from someone more desperate and not in position for a rookie QB prospect. If you’re the Bears you can’t pass on a #1 QB with those tools (unless his personality totally sucks) and then be wrong on Fields, that’s throwing away the next decade of the franchise. They’ll do the smart thing imo even though Fields could still be a good QB.

I could see Fields going to the NYG if they get left out in the QB  draft sweepstakes.

That Justin Fields is a belting player, the Bears would be a fool to move on from him, or is that just wishful thinking 😅

There’s a good chance that if they don’t move on from him, they stay at number one and pick Harrison and then pick the best tackle available with their next pick.

Packers.  49ers.  Chiefs.

All of them did it with minimum problem from the fans.

When you have good ownership and management all on the same page AND at the beginning of a true rebuild, then it's a non-issue.  You can't let fans pressure management into doing things they know are not the right thing.  That's how you get disaster.

There's way too much assumption these days that you can't sit a QB his rookie year.  You can.  It's just the impatient owners who refuse to when the situation (like ours might be) dictates it.

Jets D is gonna pound us into paste.

I'm so unconcerned about potentially winning that game

They look like they are still trying to win games so that will give them a huge advantage over us.

edit: of course, Zach Wilson gotta fumble it away and now Houston will score with momentum

if they want to make a trade they'll probably use their own pick

Those teams aren't ours and don't have our history

If you were going to use that logic, then we shouldn’t do anything because typically, everything we do has been wrong.

If Bears win does that help the Commanders in the draft?

Sort of but we want the bears to win, yes.
