tshile
Just spin it as a problem and that he needs help, and wants help, and then it’s actually worse to fire him. Better to let him keep his job and do rehab and community work.

China
Dumbass. On top of his previous comment that got blown over, he deserves to lose his job.
ixcuincle
We were talking about him as a potential basketball HOFer he made WVU relevant but this year has been flat out awful for him. can't say he didn't deserve this. it was all on him.
The Evil Genius
Mountaineer Nation: Today, I have submitted a letter to President Gordon Gee and Vice President and Director of Athletics Wren Baker informing them of my resignation and intention to retire as head men’s basketball coach at West Virginia University effective immediately. My recent actions do not represent the values of the University or the leadership expected in this role. While I have always tried to represent our University with honor, I have let all of you – and myself – down. I am solely responsible for my conduct and sincerely apologize to the University community – particularly to the student-athletes, coaches and staff in our program. I must do better, and I plan to spend the next few months focused on my health and my family so that I can be the person they deserve. It has been the honor of my professional career to lead the men’s basketball program at my alma mater and I take great pride in our accomplishments. But I am most proud of the tremendous young men who chose to spend their formative years with us, and who have gone on to do great things with their lives. I was born in Morgantown, graduated from West Virginia University and had the pleasure of coaching here for seventeen seasons as an assistant or head coach. It will always be my home, and I will always be a Mountaineer. Thank you to everyone who has supported our program over the years. It has meant more to me and my family than you could ever know. Sincerely, Bob Huggins
PleaseBlitz
What an incredibly sad end to one of the best coaching careers ever. Huggs had his issues, but that made him even more real and loveable. I’m very sad today.
The Evil Genius
Think WVU goes outside the box with someone like Ben McCollum as HC. He has a history with the new AD and has consistently won at D2 level. He'd probably be a good fit moving forward.

Cooked Crack
Quote Bob Huggins says he never resigned as West Virginia’s basketball coach following a drunken-driving arrest and wants his job back, according to a letter from his attorney to the university. Huggins’ Cleveland-based attorney, David A. Campbell, wrote to the university Friday that Huggins “never signed a resignation letter and never communicated a resignation to anyone at WVU,” according to the letter, which was obtained by The Associated Press on Saturday. The letter threatens a lawsuit if Huggins isn’t reinstated. Huggins’ demands were first reported by West Virginia network MetroNews. https://apnews.com/article/bob-huggins-west-virginia-resignation-dispute-1ebbb0566c1713a771da5b975bf521db

Long n Left
Bob Huggins is a very good basketball coach. Bob Huggins is also a pos human being. WVU would be much better off without him.
PleaseBlitz
Sounds like Huggs figured out he’d be out a few million bucks if he resigned vs. being fired. I’m pretty sure this’ll get settled.

In response, the university, which announced the hiring of longtime assistant Josh Eilert as interim coach last month, said it will not reinstate Huggins and will defend itself against any "spurious allegations." Ball Security
I was watching the local news (which I rarely do) after the SNF game. A former area basketball player was killed at a nightclub in Northeast. I believe he was the son of Todd Bozeman, Jason Kid’d’s coach at Cal.
