Idk how old you are but tuckers been around for a long, long time. He first came to my attention as a host of cross fire on cnn, when the Jon Stewart made fun of him  relentlessly. Including on Crossfire, to his face, when he was invited on (because he kept making fun of the show)

it got so much mileage out of it people quit. Got old.

I'm old enough to know that everything old becomes new again.  At the least there's some milage there with the younger folk who don't remember when he was the sort of laughingstock he oughta be.

Russia’s Medvedev floats idea of pushing back Poland’s borders

The only way for Russia to ensure lasting peace with Ukraine is to push back the borders of hostile states, even as far as the frontiers of NATO member Poland, said former President Dmitry Medvedev.

Medvedev, now deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council, made the comments in a message on his Telegram account on Friday, a year after Moscow sent tens of thousands of troops into Ukraine in what it called a “special military operation” to protect Russian speakers and ensure its own security.

“Victory will be achieved. We all want it to happen as soon as possible. And that day will come,” said Medvedev. He predicted that tough negotiations with Ukraine and the West would culminate in “some kind of agreement”.

But he said that deal would lack “fundamental agreements on real borders” and not amount to an overarching European security pact, making it vital for Russia to extend its borders now.

“That is why it is so important to achieve all the goals of the special military operation. To push back the borders that threaten our country as far as possible, even if they are the borders of Poland,” said Medvedev.

:rofl89:

Can't even hold territory in Ukraine, let alone beat them outright.  Sure, if you want to get annihilated, go ahead and attack Poland, a NATO ally.

Once this war is finished, Russia won't have enough fighting age men to go to war against anyone, and by the end of this decade, Poland will have the largest army on the continent. South Korea will replace Russia as the alternative to expensive US military equipment. Russia's Siberian oilfields will likely be in disrepair without Haliburton or BP to maintain them, and China will be in too much of a debt crisis to finance any new pipelines to make up for lost western exports. Even if Russia hangs on to some parts of Ukraine, it has already lost its future. Putin/Dugin/Medvedev's nationalist hatred of all things western will leave Russia not as the great Eurasian land power as Dugin prophesied, but as a poor, broken, backward failed pariah with a dwindling population.

Sorry.  I think that if the West maintains sanctions on Russia (not exactly given), then China will be perfectly happy to turn Russia into their strip mine.  (At a price in which China will be the only bidder.)

China will double in land area, and what I assume is the world's largest land border won't be a concern for China any more.  (Allowing them to point their military in a different direction.)

It's amazing how many of Putin's sycophants have a death wish.

If the Yellowstone supervolcano blows it won't just destroy the US, the ash plume would plunge the world into darkness and possibly the next ice age (assuming a large scale eruption, which isn't guaranteed).  Never mind the fact that once the Russian missile strike was detected, a devastating retaliatory strike would be launched.

I don’t think it would work anyway, but I’d watch the movie… “From The Producers That Brought You Sharknado, In a world where nukes are tossed about like blocks by a three year old, Nukeano!”

At this point Ima start making a drinking game out of stupid statements regarding what nukes can and cant do.  Almost as dumb as nuking a hurricane.

But can you drop a Nuke into a portal in the bottom of the pacific to stop the kiju from coming through?!?

Nuking the portal in the ocean is always an option, but be prepared for sand in the trenches.  Also you wanna excite that portal beforehand to help slide that nuke in easily.  Remember to wear ppe for the blast...otherwise a Kaiju might come out in 9 months or so.

Really, its just science.

Really, if you’re gonna take the time to do all this bring three maybe four nukes down there.  Then you can spend all day Sunday sipping beers and napping while the portal makes a big pot of chili for dinner.

Russia halts pipeline oil to Poland says refiner PKN Orlen

Russia has halted supplies of oil to Poland via the Druzhba pipeline, PKN Orlen's (PKN.WA) CEO said on Saturday, adding that the Polish refiner would tap other sources to plug the gap.

The halt in supplies via the pipeline - which has been exempted from European Union sanctions imposed on Russia following its full-scale invasion of Ukraine - came a day after Poland delivered its first Leopard tanks to Ukraine.

"Russia has halted supplies to Poland, for which we are prepared. Only 10% of crude oil has been coming from Russia and we will replace it with oil from other sources," PKN Orlen Chief Executive Daniel Obajtek wrote on Twitter.

Attack On Europe: Documenting Russian Equipment Losses During The 2022 Russian Invasion Of Ukraine

This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Small arms, ATGMs, MANPADS, mortars, loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles, trailers and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it is not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

Our list showing destroyed and captured Ukrainian vehicles and equipment can be found here. For a list of Russian equipment losses during the First Chechen War click here. For a list of Russian equipment losses during the the Second Chechen War click here. And for a list of Russian equipment losses during the 2008 Russo-Georgian War click here.
