WelshSkinsFan Posted March 20, 2020 Share Posted March 20, 2020 With the first pick overall in the ES 2020 Mock Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals select; Chase Young, Edge, Ohio State I don't know how much of a surprise this pick will be but fundamentally it comes down to the fact that when you have the first selection you take the guy that is the consensus best player in the draft and this year Chase Young is light years ahead of any other available selection. If the roster was complete in Cincinnati we could have taken a QB as the final piece of the puzzle but frankly we still have options here. With Andy Dalton not generating much trade buzz we can easily move forward with one more season from the reliable red rifle whilst we build a championship caliber team and whilst we can always look to take our QB of the future later or even in next years draft, we will never have another shot at a Chase Young. I won't go into too much detail on Young and his traits here because frankly you would have to have been living in a cave for the last 12 months to not have heard a ton of analysis about his talent, production and potential. Suffice to say he is considered to be the best Edge rusher to have entered the draft in many years with off the charts sack production and incredible athleticism and he has achieved all of this despite only having a fairly basic technique which any half decent coach should be able to build upon and unleash a monster capable of taking over games and giving Quarterbacks nightmares.
