he shouldn’t hit him whether he drops it or not. It’s dirty either way teeing off on somebody’s upper body while they are airborne and not looking and have no way to protect themselves.

How is he supposed to know hes going to catch it until he drops it?  Theres a way to keep that rule and not be such an after the fact, not in their shoes, second guessing type of call.

If it's on the line, I'm fine with letting it go in the playoffs.

Counterpoint: Receivers should never go airborne with no way to protect themselves to make a catch. Otherwise, some defender you don't see may try to break your ribs to separate you from the ball.

that’s not a counterpoint that’s just silly.

It should be called either way whether they catch the ball or not. You have to stop those hits from occurring on caught or incomplete balls. The point is protecting the player from a cheap shot

You cant call that if it's not a cheap shot, and theres no way to know until the ball is caught. The point was to stop people from getting free hits on folks, not stop players from being able to play defense.  The reality is NFL doesnt want defense, but what is football after that?

I'm enjoying this.

It would be boring and predictable if all the higher seeds won and cruised through the playoffs

Any given Sunday...dude.

Yeah, but if we’re stuck with a Seattle vs Titans SB, that would be some seriously boring ball.

You know Mahomes is coming back.

this game is FAR from over.

If you can score in bunches, like the Chiefs can, this could be a 10 point game in about 5 minutes of game time.

This type of game, is the whole reason we have the playoffs, as opposed to just having the teams with the 2 best records play in the SB, right after the regular season.

The playoffs is a brand new season, and you still gotta earn the right to the Super Bowl.

The teams with the best records in the regular season, may not have necessarily played enough really good teams.
