Springfield
Well a Caps goal would be nice before the period. Game still isn’t over though.
Kilmer17
Yes on Backstrom now.
NoVaSkins21
The turning point in this game was the missed clear before the 1st goal. If they do, TB probably doesn't score and the Caps probably dictate the pace of this game. Instead, it's the opposite tonight

Another near post goal, I don't get why he doesn't cut off the angles and protect the near post. It's much more difficult to score far post than near when you're shooting from an angle. Kilmer17
Caps are getting slapped around all zones tonight. Plus Vasy is a brick wall. Holtby is crap. And Caps keep acting dumb. Probably lucky this isnt 8-
SkinsFanRob
I guess we can pump the brakes on all the Stanley cup finals talk lol
BurgundyMalaise
Not our night. This is a complete team loss thus far. Nobody has done anyone else any favors. These things happen. Perhaps the franchise and fans got too far ahead of ourselves. This is a damn good collection of hockey players on the other side

mammajamma
Puck handling has been absolutely atrocious. Not sure if theyre not used to the ice's speed, or what, but theyve been whiffing and off on passes all night. The crispness of games 1 and 2 are long gone
Kilmer17
Intermission guys are destroying the Caps. Rightfully so.

Kilmer17
I’d like to see actual effort in the 3rd even if it’s fruitless. But im expecting a yawner. Ive seen nothing. Save a minute or two that showed me the Caps are interested in a W
Zazzaro703
These guys are good and we weren't going to sweep them. What we need is the spilt for these homes games. It's also time for Backstrom to be reinserted into the lineup. I hope the extra days off has helped. Still a 3rd period anything can happen but this Caps team just wasn't ready to play tonight and isn't focused like they have been the last 3 games. Really need to see a strong period here even if we come up short.
mammajamma
what also sucks is that this is the first game back home since we escaped pittsburgh and became a dominant team. the crowd wanted so bad to cheer at the beginning, but have been completely let down. game 4 becomes vital now
SkinsFanRob
Barry lights a fire during intermission. Caps win 5-4. You heard it hear first.

I think it's one of those injuries where he won't be 100% the rest of the way and would have played tonight if it was 1-1. Just trying to steal as many days to heal as possible and it seems the clock has run out.
