And it begins...

Carson Wentz booed at Philly airport by Eagles fans seeking autographs

During an interview with 94.1 WIP’s Angelo Cataldi Friday morning, new Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz joked about not knowing what it was like to be booed by his own fans.

Now he does.

Fresh from being drafted by the Eagles with the number two pick in the NFL Draft, Wentz arrived at Philadelphia International Airport Friday afternoon to slew of fans eager to get his autograph.

Wentz, escorted by security through the crowd, apparently angered some of the fans in attendance by declining their repeated requests to stop for an autograph, even as security urged them to "get back."

“Come on, you won’t sign for a season ticket holder?” one fan exclaimed in the video captured by CBS 3 Sports Director Don Bell. “Come on Carson, you’re better than this,” another said.

That’s when one angry fan let the boo birds fly. “We’re going to boo you already!” he exclaimed.

Wentz has repeatedly noted his upbringing in the frigid winters of North Dakota has made him tough. To that, I say welcome to Philadelphia.

I'm actually a little confused why so many people on ESPN seem to be so literally appalled that Bradford wants out.  Like it just seems off like ESPN has some issue with it.

I would think that Bradford should be ****ing praised for wanting to get out of there and not caring about his cushy contract, he's a player who age wise is in his prime and has a 100% certainty to be playing second fiddle to a QB coming in this year.  I'm sure he's going to be willing to take at least a small paycut to make a trade work.

I know Bradford sucks but I don't see how it's so despicable that a guy who clearly is part of a new regime wants out because it's so obviously apparent he's not a part of the long term plans.  He's essentially doing them a favor since they'd get at least a mid round pick or player and it's probably what the Eagles expected after the trade anyway.  I just think the whole judgement of the player's ability is being taken too far in relation to the fact of the matter that he's still a "fringe->mediocre with potential" starting QB in the league.  Being a low level starter is still a valuable asset in the league considering how poor QB play is overall right now.

to me Bradford isn't being a pro because he got a good enough contract to STFU and work.

I don't know if anyone remembers the tonyhomo.com blog back in the day. I was young then so maybe I'd think it was stupid if I read it now but goddamn if that thing didn't make me lmao everyday. It was a Tony romoSUCKS hate blog from Drew Bledsoe (who romoSUCKS replaced.) He just talked **** and conspired against him constantly. I think it got to "live blogging" from the sidelines and celebrating every romoSUCKS INT.

But yeah, just thinking about it because of that picture.

Fifth time seeing it and it still makes me laugh.

Seriously, if they did a remake of the shining they might have to sign Bradford just for his ability to make that face.

All work and no play makes Bradford a dull boy.

I remember it. It was a bunch of petulant rambling from Drew. It was pretty funny stuff.

I wonder if there is a 'Spirit of the Draft' violation here?

On Thursday, PFT reported that the Eagles secured a verbal commitment from quarterbacksJared Goff and Carson Wentz that both would accept offsets if the Eagles traded up to No. 2 and made one of them the selection.

Some have suggested that the Eagles violated the rules by engaging in pre-draft discussions with agents representing incoming rookies, pointing out that only the team that holds the first overall pick may negotiate terms before the draft.

The NFL declined comment on the situation.
