Cercei magically manages to stay on the throne while killing everybody else? You're right. There's no good way to end this journey that's going to appeal to most folks. I agree with all of your points. I'm an avid reader, and love the books, but he has no incentive to finish the story. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't finish it at all. This ugly 350 pound trollish looking dude now has "**** You" money and can go to every Comic Con in the tournament and have an orgy with three Khaleesi cos-players. Only Jon Snow is proclaimed King of the North. The rest of the world is pretty much ruled by women.
