NY Times: Josh Norman’s Defense Uncovers Odell Beckham Jr.’s Dark Side

the joke was "all" people (adults) often act like children when they don't get their way. dumbass. :D

I wasn't trying to spoil your fun.

Wanted to post that before but I'm saying Des' remark better describes a certain generation and background. I know Clark was explosive but mainly towards his own sideline lol and about getting the call, not ****ing about being shutdown.

Was there something else he did that I missed? I took my eyes off the tv for a few minutes until he was standing on the Giants bench pumping up the crowd. Is that what the vulgar thing was?

Vulgar has a much broader meaning than its use as euphemism for profane or pornographic or lewd.

I think this low, undignified, lacking in decorum or restraint sense is what he meant.

Only because we adults are boring. Boring in our use of language (describing any immature behavior as childish) and boring in our tantrums. Adults are said to act like children when they complain, sulk, and become obstinate. Children are like that when they have to eat salad on a Tuesday. That's the beginning not the defining aspect of their emotional outpouring.

What Odell did was much closer to a toddler's glorious eruption of displeasure. He started screaming, emoting wildly, and even hit the other kids to show how mad he was. Watching his tirade I thought "a bit of string cheese and a nap would settle him right down."

He's certainly not the only adult that goes full blown toddler, but he belongs to that particular smaller more entertaining group.

I see it as egotistical hype and believing he is above the rules of the game. He needs to be reeled in.

I think he needs to get blasted. Unfortunately this league no longer allows for natural checks and balances. All these offensive players dance so much and show up defenders now because they know they are virtually untouchable. Makes me sick.

Toast or not. He's still only getting 1 game max when he should be out for 1/4 of a season at least for showing the entire world that he still wears pampers and that his parents never broke out the leather belt on his punkass.  This dude needs some Adrian Peterson treatment IMO.

NFL got what they wanted out of that match up (ratings).  There wasn't a chance in hell Coughlin would bench Beckham.  Despite what fans and casual observers think, WINNING (and talent) in the NFL, trumps just about everything.  This is why guys like Greg Hardy, Aldon Smith, and Junior Gallette are still employed and the main reason why Beckham finished the game out.  NFL can have all the PSAs, say all the things you want to hear off the field, but at the end of the day, these owners, GMs, coaches, etc. will do everything the can to get W's.

Despite the smiley at the end, I find it ironic that you use dumbass...

Now you can explain why you found it "ironic", since you felt the need to comment.

(fyi---nick and I have had all sorts of fun, support, argument, and jabs over ten years or so---the "dumbass" was a friendly one)

holy **** this topic seems to be way more sensitive than i would have dreamed

O'Dell just made himself a target. Players will be targeting him mentally and physically for the rest of his career. They found a huge chink in his armor. Additionally he took a cheap shot not looked at kindly among other players (by what I've read/heard). They will all be trying to make him their ****.

He made himself a target long before this Panther game. He got some vines and videos that are, shall we say, a tad curious. Thats what all these players are responding to. They seen 'em, they talk, they know the deal.

WHOA!

Same **** that happens all the time. NFL wants to look like they give a **** about domestic violence, player safety, etc. But suspensions get overturned or reduced nearly 100% of the time. They do this all the time. They don't care. Regardless of what a player does, if he can play football they want him to play.
