MartinC
Our countries fighting it out in Lake Champlain again, is my thought. Not going to happen - our armed forces have only got a couple of Spitfires and a converted ferry left ...
boobiemiles
We could use him now. Tired of seeing Merriweather and some safety to be named later starting on Sunday.
illone
Hingsight being 20/20 and all... Patrick Willis would have been the correct pick there....
KuNiT21
Laron is amazing. He is dedicated, driven, and extremely hard working......in the weight room. Dude offers nothing at SS except missed tackles and 5 games played per season. I think he'll get picked up but his career is going to start to dwindle, id be surprised if he's still in the league 2 years from now.

gortiz
he was the absolute perfect compliment to Sean. Even physically ... you had the ball hawking, tall, mean hitting free safety with great hands And the squat, brickhouse, strong safety that could play in the box and support the run Christ even the Area 51 nickname came from heaven. Dan T.
One factor is that the game changed, very quickly. His forte was the big, intimidating hit on receivers. The NFL in the last 3 years has effectively removed that from the game.
gortiz
Except his run support was downright awful. oh whatever ... how does a guy last this long in the NFL if he's awful at the only thing he's good at? we know he can't cover. If he can't run support, then what? Why has he landed on three differnet teams and has been in the nfl the better part of 6-7 years? His looks? nope his muscles? don't think so. god knows its not his personality ...

But when they realize he's awful they cut him and he goes to the next team.
Bishop Hammer
LaRon Landry was actually a good pick in my opinion. We wern't picking Adrian Peterson we had Clinton Portis already, who was still in his prime... We wern't picking Revis we had Carlos and Shawn Springs already.... We wern't picking Willis we had London Fletcher already... The one position we needed was SS and to be fair, Sean Taylor was having his best year as a redskin in 2007 WITH Landry before his unfortunate and ill-timely demise. Exactly, hindsight is always 20/20. Theres no way of knowing who will be a stud, average, or a bust. Was needed a safety. All the those players listed played a position we had solid to good talent already in house. He could've been better but he wasn't as bad as he was made out to be. Laron was mediocre here with flashe of brilliance.
Leonard Washington
He was much better as a rookie. I think putting on all that mass David Boston'd him.

Laron was mediocre here with flashe of brilliance. Yes, there are ways. The biggest one is good judgement. Good judgement allows you to determine which qualities are more important than others. Good judgement chooses substance over flash, while flash is the temptation and lure that bad execs just cant resist. Landry was all flash. He was appealing because he hit hard, not becuase he ever showed much in the way of good fundamentals. Not only was he poor in coverage, he was a poor tackler, disguised by being able to lay out good hits. To say theres no way of knowing who will be a stud, average, or a bust is to ignore the reality that teams like the Patriots and Seahawks prove that wrong every year. They know. We dont. Alaskins
LOL, CBS sports did an interesting time lapse comparison of photos from Landry's years in the NFL: http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-football/25134520/look-laron-landy-still-has-ridiculously-large-biceps%20-%20%20-%20%20-?ftag=YHR6f8d662
veteranskinsfan
I am surprised Landry lasted as long as he did with the Colts. In hindsight, not picking Patrick Willis was a huge mistake. Even though Willis will not be playing this year, he helped the 49ers get much better.
