Would you want HBO Hard Knocks to feature us this year?

I kind of think the opposite, I think showcasing the pure dysfunction of this franchise at what will likely be a breaking point, with record low attendance and a coach and GM about to be fired may just be the perfect shot to cement it as a national laughinstock. Instead, if Im the Redskins I tell them "next year", because its a great story line and shows the franchise in a better light be cause A. Either Gruden and Allen are fired, and its all about a new regime, a new beginning, new coach, GM etc with a lot of young talent, or B. Gruden and Allen made the playoffs, fans are starting to come back, and its dramatic to see if they can build on it.

    The Bruce Allen/GM Thread

Its amazing how all of the credit Bruce gets for turning his decade long disaster around, is for signing a guy who will never play a down for the Redskins.

Reuben Foster carted off on 2nd snap of OTA's

The problem with bringing in a guy like Foster, regardless of what hes done, isnt that he might not pan out. Because his history says hes a pretty big risk compared to your average player. The problem is ONLY bringing in Foster and thinking that solves it. In the NFL, if you have a position with only 1 good player, you likely will have a position with 0 good players by midway through the season.
  5. Yeah, I dont see the point in playing him this year. The Oline we know is injury prone and because of that suspect. Haskins is a 1 year college starter. Case Keenum has proven himself capable of being an average player at the position. Sure, maybe if Haskins had been a 4 year starter in college you could justify throwing him in in year 1, but he wasnt. Hes as inexperienced as a 1st round QB can be, so a year on the bench, learning, watching, and practicing will be more valuable than for your average rookie QB.

    The Bruce Allen/GM Thread

Umm........... We literally have had a decade to see thats true. At some point you have to believe your eyes, and your ears, and what everyone who is actually close to the situation is saying.
  7. It would be nice if Mason Foster would act like a gangster, and threaten an opposing running back for once.

    Starting QB 2019???

So basically, Alex Smith is cut. He might be IR'd for a year, but if he doesnt retire, hes cut. Haskins and Keenum are a lock, and Gruden already hates to keep 3 QBs, meaning even McCoy is likely on the bubble with the troubles hes having recovering. For this year, the worst thing we can do is start Haskins. Keenum is more than qualified to be a stop gap for a year, and the big knock on Haskins is his poor upper body mechanics and throwing motion. The last thing we want to do is spend a year reinforcing that because we thew him in too early, instead of taking the opportunity to really coach it out of him, improve those mechanics, and set him up for great success next year. I know everyone wants to play with their shiny new toy immediately, but as long as you refuse to have patience, you continue to make sure you wont have long term success. Patience for 1-2 years leads to long term success, it just requires someone with the character to withstand the whiny fans who will demand everything now.

    2019 Comprehensive Draft Thread

Nothing is a bigger red flag than a WR that prefers not to catch with his hands. That should be your natural instinct, if its not, thats a serious problem. So....after a decade of seeing the results of Bruce Allen. Of seeing him drive half the fanbase away, to historic lows, you think that A. because its a good draft on paper it will be a good draft in 2 years, and B. Its Bruce Allen who did it despite NEVER being able to do that before, rather than someone else in the building? Ill be honest, that doesnt seem too rational to me.

    The Bruce Allen/GM Thread

Every year Bruce Allen wins the offseason. The problem is every year his team looks good on paper, and is terrible on the football field. And only one of those counts. And for anyone that really thinks we have turned the corner in recent drafts with Kyle Smith leading it, theres nothing you can hope for more than Bruce Allen being fired. Because we all know Bruce wont tolerate competition, so he will run Smith out if hes allowed to stay.

    2019 Comprehensive Draft Thread

With two more guards off the board, that makes 23 offensive linemen drafted so far, with us having taken 0. That means at best we are targeting the 24th best linemen available now, clearly not something we think is important.

    2019 NFL Draft discussion thread

If there are only 2 players taken at a position, per the rules of math, it means the worst case scenario is the 3rd best players is available. And possibly the best, or 2nd best.

I think both will be part of a great combo at getting hit behind the line, because theres no one to block for them.

    2019 NFL Draft discussion thread

Well, thats the must Redskiny pick. Instead of a G to block for our RB, we took yet another RB with a major leg injury, so now we have 4 RBs with histories of major leg injuries. Considering the one thing we DONT need at the position for this year is another injured RB, when we already have a strong position with Peterson, Guice, and Thompson, are they basically saying theres not a single OG left in the draft who might be good enough to start? Because it seems like thats what they must be saying. And if thats the case, they screwed up by waiting too long.

Dont watch his game tape against Oklahoma before doing that, otherwise you might have a few reservations...

    2019 NFL Draft discussion thread

The Redskins are going to take Michael Jordan, arent they... Good to see us grabbing for a WR after a WR run, instead of going for a G. Since then, no team has wanted a WR, and 3 G's have gone off the board.

    2019 NFL Draft discussion thread

I might suggest if theres already been a run on WRs, that means A. A better guard than would have been is available, B. We will be reaching for a WR, as the better ones are now taken, and C. The teams that need a WR have now all taken one, meaning the best of the rest will sit longer and be available later. I think its never best to chase where everyone else has already been.

At this point, one of the top 3 Guards in the draft is still available, which should be good for us. Hopefully its where we go in the 3rd round.

    2019 Comprehensive Draft Thread

We have to take a LG in the 3rd round. We cant keep pretending that the QB can protect himself, or that Flowers is anything but a turnstile thats been uprooted from its mounts. I get people might want a safety, but we have dumped so many top 4 round picks into safety in recent years at some point we have to stop doing it(and stop cutting the only good ones we get).

    The Bruce Allen/GM Thread

Thats because it would be really foolish to do that before they have played a down in the NFL. Kind of because of that Tom Brady fellow and that Ryan Leaf fellow. You may have heard of them?

I love the talent of Sweat. I hate the fact that it had to be based on our medical staff, who are clearly beyond incompetent, saying he will be fine and healthy.

    Starting QB 2019???

How bad is our training staff? Not only do we suffer massive injuries every season, but both our QBs have now had 2nd surgeries due to not healing well enough.
  24. Good to hear, hes been so good when healthy, probably our best linemen.

    Starting QB 2019???

You literally get Rosen so he can sit behind Keenum. The whole issue he had was he wasnt ready to be thrown into that, and in a bad situation. Instead, you can sit him for a year, let him learn and recover from the shell-shock in Arizona. Otherwise you basically set him up for more of the same failure behind an OLine that got its top 2 starting QBs legs taken off. Draft 2 offensive linemen, improve the line, then let him come out next year.
