  1. Yeah, Doctson will be the key, but Richardson will be close behind. Theres a lot of potential, sure, but potential and reality are two different things. The likes of Crowder, Harris, Sims can be very effective 3-4-5 guys, but a lot will be set up by both Doctson and Richardson. Personally, it starts with Richardson in my opinion, but Doctson has to capitalize for it to be a good year for the receiving core. Richardson can take the top off of defenses, when he starts doing that, coordinators have to adjust, that means more safeties rotating over to his side, following him deep, and sitting deeper at the snap. That in the end means Doctson will often see 1v1 on the outside deep, and will also have more space underneath to catch the ball. Richardson will open up space for him, but from that point Doctson has to make the catches. I'm very hopeful considered Smith also is supposedly a great QB for the likes of Doctson and Richardson, but we shall see...
  2. As our receiving core is, I think we know what to expect from just about everyone but Doctson. He will probably be the key this season. In reality, he will probably be option #3 or 4 most of the time with Reed, Thompson, and Crowder/Richardson, but if he plays like a #1 this season the passing offense will be really good. It will be interesting to watch, because Richardson was who we needed last year, a fast guy to keep the safetys deep, so the young receiver in Doctson could find more space underneath. Because of this he will get more 1 v 1s both underneath and deep than he did last season, so then it will be up to him to improve on last year. We've seen what he can do at his best, now we need him to come down with more of the 50/50 balls and tough, but not too tough catches.
  3. To me, Richardson was the one we really needed. A good receiving core is not just 4 good players that are all well rounded athlethes, because to get that you have to pay a fortune. So the question is, how do you build a good receiving core for less? Simple, you get a balance of guys who are good at different things, but not good at other things. You get a big possession type guy to win the jump balls(Doctsons type), but who maybe lacks some speed. You get a great underneath guy whos shifty in traffic, but not very big(Crowders type), but in order to open up the space for the two of them, you get the speedster that takes the top off and keeps the safeties honest, but again lacks the hands, jumping ability, or size of others(Richardsons type). With all of them its much harder for defenses, without 1 of them its much easier to handle. Take a 3 WR set with Reed and Thompson, Richardson means either teams will have to try and cover him 1 on 1 with a corner(meaning open deep balls), or drop a safety deep to double him. If the D plays 2 safeties back it opens up our running game. If they keep them back, and drop 7, that leaves 2 corners, 2 LBers and a safety to cover Doctson, Crowder, Reed and Thompson. The other safety will then likely be responsible for deep on his side, meaning unless Doctson goes deep, both him and Crowder will get single coverage on shorter routes, and Reed and Thompson will both be single covered by LBers. It also likely helps Doctsons progression, as now hes not THE receiving threat, meaning it takes some of the pressure off of him and gives him some easier coverage, because teams would rather give up 15 yards than 80.
  4. PALOFFS IS NOT NOW. PALOFFS IS NOT FOR ANOTHER 7 WEEKS.
  5. Shanny ended Shanny's career, he did, after all hire Jim Haslett and try to keep him on staff for 7892 Billion seasons. Once he became Redskin famous, cheated on his first wife and ditched her, then married the cheerleader he cheated on her with, then cheated on HER later with someone else. I've defended Griffins play fairly often over the years, but theres no way Im going to root for a guy whos such a jerk hes willing to destroy his kids family before the kid even turns 1.
  6. I dont think it was just rumors. Its so sad to see it go this way, and much like Cooley, Ive lost all respect for him that remained. I can tell you this, this has been in the works for some time. My wife is very good friends with a woman who spent a decent amount of time at functions with the team, and RG3 was always overly friendly. But then he started texting her at odd times(this was a few years ago) and asking her if she wanted to come over and hang out and what not with just him, and she found that pretty weird, and of course kept turning him down. But he did it enough times it clearly seemed to cross way beyond friendly boundaries. At the time I just stuck my fingers in my ears and chalked it up to hopefully just his super friendly personality and just being bored, but clearly that wasnt the case.
  7. On the plus side, the starting D played very well. Also, the passing game clicked well. The running game is still a concern, but if thats the case, thats better than both the D and run game being concerned. Im hoping to see that D continue to hold up, if so that will be our biggest key this year.
  8. I find it interesting how when reducing seats in the stadium they decided to leave obstructed view seats, and instead remove other seats.
  9. Decided to have some fun with it: Your Picks: Round 1 Pick 8 (ATL): Vic Beasley, OLB, Clemson (A+) Round 1 Pick 17 (S.D.): Ereck Flowers, OT, Miami (Fla.) (A-) Round 1 Pick 31 (N.O.): Landon Collins, SS, Alabama (A+) Round 2 Pick 6: Malcom Brown, DT, Texas (A-) Round 2 Pick 10 (ATL): Phillip Dorsett, WR, Miami (Fla.) (A) Round 2 Pick 16 (S.D.): Denzel Perryman, ILB/OLB, Miami (Fla.) (C+) Round 3 Pick 5: Alex Carter, CB, Stanford © Round 3 Pick 9 (ATL): Garrett Grayson, QB, Colorado State (B-) Round 4 Pick 6: Gerod Holliman, FS, Louisville (D+) Round 5 Pick 5: Nick O'Leary, TE, Florida State (A) Round 6 Pick 6: Jeremiah Poutasi, OT/OG, Utah (D+) Round 7 Pick 5: John Crockett, RB, North Dakota State (D)
  10. I drafted for the Cowboys. I wanted to see what a realistic representation of their draft might be, and what the future might hold for them. "Your score is: -299 (GRADE: ) Your Picks: Round 1 Pick 27: Taylor Heinicke, QB, Old Dominion (F) Round 2 Pick 13 (MINN): Sean Mannion, QB, Oregon State (F) Round 2 Pick 14 (S.F.): Spencer Roth, P, Baylor (F) Round 5 Pick 27: Ty Long, K, UAB (F) Round 7 Pick 19: Will Oliver, K, Colorado (F) Round 7 Pick 26: Jerry Lovelocke, QB, Prairie View A&M (F) Your Future Picks: Traded Away" So all in all I think it went pretty well. The picks are pretty self explanatory, but ill explain anyway. The Cowboys tried to trade up again and again to be rebuffed by other teams, so they settled for the very top of their board at pick 27, who they were pleased was still available. Unfortunately, they then realized their board was upside down. Wanting to shore up the QB position, they traded up in the 2nd to grab more camp fodder for Romo. They followed that up with a much needed punter before anyone else could snag him, getting a good old Texas boy! In the 5th they realized Ty Long was still available, and was mostly likely the son of Howie Long they had heard about. After drafting him, and being informed the K stood for kicker, they decided he wasnt all that great, so he needed competition, and Will Oliver fit the bill. Finally they rounded it out with the obvious chose of Lovelocke, because they love Lovelocke. Good draft, Romo's replacement is hopefully in there somewhere, and the special teams are set for at least until pre-season cuts start.
  11. Man, if drafts were like the draft simulator, and you could find trade downs so easily, we would be set!
  12. I wish Redskins fans would be more demanding, because Im tired of watching bad football :-(. Im glad Redskins fans arent more demanding, because really demanding people are jerks.
  13. Did madden seriously give Romo a 95 rating? Holy... May the Cowboys be relegated to NFLE next season. Yes, I know.
  14. One of my personal favs... two actually
