  1. Absolute trash from Snyder there. A PR piece to primarily point out hes "setting a new culture and standard" so dont blame him for past stuff. Notice there is not one single word of apology in it, not a single word to the victims. He doesnt care about them and anything that happened because he knew all of it, he only cares that he got caught.
  2. You would be wise to not share your opinion anymore. But I know you arent wise. So to rehash, a guy gets NDA's against women so they cant talk about the rampant sexual harassment they endured...but he didnt know. Almost all of the top execs in his company sexually harassed women for almost 2 decades...but he didnt know. He immediately fired the execs in question, without hesitation, the moment a reporter came to ask questions about them, rather than spending a couple of weeks getting investigating his trusted execs he had no reason to believe were doing things like that...because he didnt know. He sailed to the middle of nowhere on his yacht when he found out, instead of being horrified and coming to angrily storm in his buildings front doors and talk to the media about what went on, how they were punished, and how that would never happen again....because he didnt know. Let me be blunt, at this point, anyone who cares to defend Dan Snyder, or to say that hes getting more hate than he deserves is as guilty as the rest of them. You are one of the reasons abuse continues.
  3. At this point the rumors have gotten so absurd, so over the top, that it would be Snyders best interest to get the story released asap. Theres no way it can be worse than whats been put out, and if its not put out everyone will assume the worst.
  4. I dont mean that hes legally required to sell. I mean that the fanbase will collapse from its already low level, to unseen levels for an american sports franchise, in the matter of just months. He will "have" to sell because his only other choice will be to lose at least 1-2 billion dollars if he doesnt, in lost revenue and lost franchise value.
  5. True, for years Ive been watching the refs seem to be corrupt, and go out of their way to make obscene calls against the Redskins, even after clear instant replay. For years Ive railed against those corrupt refs as it seemed to blatant. If he did attempt to bribe them and their punishment was to stick it to him with bad calls, it might actually add up.
  6. The thing is, it doesnt matter anymore if this story comes out, Dan has to sell. The only way he doesnt is if the story does come out and it turns out to be not as bad as expected. This franchise has run fans out for years. Then, to rebrand a 90 year old franchise will drive away another large portion of the fanbase, for at least a while. A rebrand is difficult enough, but to then throw in a massive scandal at the same time will kill it. You can survive one or the other, but no one will show up next season with both. The only way for the franchise to survive after this is to sell, and stopping the stories release wont help in the least.
  7. Im guessing the Washington Post is experienced enough to know the Redskins were going to hire a lawyer and try to quiet it down once they got wind. If they didnt, they are some of the dumbest idiots in the world. So no, I dont think this will effect the release, this is just the Redskins scrambling to react and was always going to happen.
  8. But...but...you could do a cartoon that is crazy, over the top, absurd, ridiculous, unbelievable, and those would JUST be the factual parts. You wouldnt even need to create the script, it would already be done.
  9. Yeah this has a 0.1% chance. If it were this the reports of no fines or draft punishments likely wouldnt make sense.
  10. In these difficult but hopeful times, I want to take the moment to say that reading through this thread...I may loathe many of you, but I love all of you(except 1)😆. The material here is gold, and the next 48 hours will be the mixture of terror and fun I would only want to experience on this site. I know we all, tomorrow, across the globe, are unified in our refreshing of twitter and eagerly awaiting that moment of sheer terror-bliss.......the moment when we all have instant clarity that...Dan Snyder has to sell the team.
  11. Sounds like a guy who knows how to get things done, and how to win in even the most difficult circumstances. Wouldnt be a good fit here.
  12. What if..... Hear me out....What if.... Jeff Bezos already tried to buy the team? Dan Snyder rebuffed him, and though Bezos has been trying for years, Snyder refuses to budge, despite running the franchise into the ground. Bezos then puts his money to work, and puts a word in the area of his newspaper to dig into all of the possible sources, and put out a massive hit piece that will get the NFL to force a sale...which Bezos will win and pay less than full price due to the damaged reputation. Snyder got wind of it a couple of months ago, and knowing there was enough dirt, desperately tried to stave it off by looking into getting in the NFLs good graces by starting a name change. When he got wind the article was coming this week, he pushed up his timeline for the name change, which is why it was announced so suddenly, and why he was rushing to get it out by Monday. What if...
  13. Well in all fairness, they make it seem theres more coming thats really sad and disappointing, and firing two guys who have been bad scouts for a long time seems to me a good thing. It....literally.....does.
  14. I think its definitely Kyle Smith or Jack Del Rio getting fired for stuff unrelated to football.
  15. Great, the fired Panther migration to DC continues. Its super concerning to me to just copy a team that didnt even make the playoffs in most of their seasons. I guess we trade one cronyism for another...
  16. If you think a billionaire is just going to throw any money figure out because its an NFL team and doesnt care, then I just dont think you understand how they operate. Why wouldnt they just pay 5 billion? Stuff that earns you an extra $5k on a house earns you an extra $50 million with a franchise.
  17. If you own the Detroit Lions, absolutely. But how many potential owners wouldnt even touch the team because of the name and the backlash that will come from being named the new owners, even if you change the name in a few months. You know, if the team announces a name change, they dont actually HAVE to name it before the new ownership comes in, and any name they did chose can be changed by the new ownership before the first season under the new name. But anyone who sells anything of great value knows, you get more money for it when you lay the groundwork then if you havent. To use your flawed house analogy, do you sell the house with holes in the wall without fixing it, because the next buyer would prefer to chose their paint color, or do you patch and paint the walls to get the most money for it? You dont sell a house with 3 hideous pink bathrooms and a cesspool in back because you think the new owners would like to chose the next upgrades, you reno the house to something your smart designer knows your target buyer will want, and then you sell at max money.
  18. Crazy idea, what if selling the team is why Snyder hired Rivera? At the end of last season he gets fed up with the disaster of a franchise, with Bruce Allen, and with low attendance and how much the fans hate him. He decides maybe its time to sell. But Option A is you sell the team with the current leadership of either dead rubber(Allen/Gruden) or nobody, a stadium that cant get built due to the name, a horrible past few seasons, and a name/political pressure that will keep many buyers away. Sure, maybe you sell, but you dont get nearly as much as you think you should. Option B is what he went with, you secretly have a plan to change the name just for the new owners to give them a fresh slate, removing stadium objections, and put in a respected stable guy to be the face of the franchise and its head coach, meaning you can sell the franchise as turn-key, the solid pieces all in place and just needing a new ownership to step in and learn for a couple of years. Most on here said a while back they wouldnt support a name change in most circumstances, but they would to get Snyder out of ownership. What if thats finally the case? I doubt it, but I enjoyed the thought and I hope you do to.
  19. Virginia only reports once per day, before 10am. You'll also notice its because over 800 of the cases are from the closed down Northern Virginia area after Virginia revamped its testing.
  20. Watching the Alabama game he definitely doesnt look like a 2nd round talent. What he looks like is a guy who is very strong, appears to handle any bullrushes well, but really struggled with speed and quickness. The quick guys beat him pretty well and he looked slow to recover on a lot of moves, I think thats what they will need to fix for him to have success in the NFL.
  21. Hear me out, what if the Redskins ACTUALLY meant to draft AGG in the third round? Its been a long day on the phones, coming down to the last couple minutes to get their pick off for their guy, Antonio Gandy-Golden. Kyle goes and grabs the sheet and says yep, we are drafting WR Antonio G. Sure enough, the pick goes in, and with some horror he sees on the screen its WR Antonio Gibson.
  22. I think the biggest thing that concerns me is that the last time we had a guy like this, super athletic, said to be just a player, but no one was quite sure his position, it was Sua Cravens. Granted, him being a head case was a part of that, but he still never fit anywhere. Besides the annoyance of drafting yet another RB when we just drafted Love, and Guice, and already had AP and McCissok on the roster, hes going to have to prove to be a special weapon in short order, or start to show he can be a really good WR before most people are okay with the pick.
