  1. Taylor just injected some life into the team in those last 40 seconds. Only 3 points, but important to attitude coming out next half.
  2. Our Oline isnt good enough for Fitzpatrick to be QB, but TH is good enough at escaping for this OLine.
  3. What the hell was that cheap ass hit by Bosa? I dont think ive seen someone hit that late in years
  4. The issue we have right now isnt the QB, its the Oline and LB/DB tackling.
  5. Uh, chargers player just throw a punch there and not get flagged?
  6. That missed face mask is so bad, it literally makes it look like the Refs were paid off. Good to see they are in midseason form. The back judge has a completely unobstructed view of the obvious and any ref on the field can see the defender is nowhere near him and yet somehow pulls him back with one long arm to his head.
  7. Does anyone really think that naming Tanya as the one in charge changed anything? Like she was at odds with her husband, and not in bed with him(both figuratively and literally)? If Dan views it as hes under attack and its been hard on him(who cares about the real victims), then of course Tanya also views that. Everything they have done for the past couple of years has been for PR purposes and popular opinion, not because they actually want to do any of it. Its always been that way, it didnt suddenly change. The illusion that any actual change has happened will last right up until the point the team starts to struggle or goes so well they think its time to step in again.
  8. I think this game comes down to how well our offense plays. Chargers offense has the potential to really test our D, but it'll be about whether our O is a liability or actually generates offense and scores, and keeps the D fresh.
  9. I see Apke already has the "Oh yeah I must be good on special teams?" cover story working well.
  10. Ah, I see the "it doesnt mean anything its just preseason" crowd is out again in full force. Not to be a downer, but those are the lies we have literally told ourselves for decades. Losing in preseason isnt an issue. Getting destroyed may mean something else...We are not nearly as good as the Ravens. Of course that doesnt mean we wont make the playoffs, and it doesnt mean we dont have good starters, but our depth is really poor based on that and depth is important in the NFL. Allen was terrible, and that game solidified that he doesnt have a future in the NFL.
  11. You can learn a ton from preseason, historically. Its just where you choose to look. Win-loss records in preseason arent that helpful overall because of the amount of time starters play. But when you start to look at win-loss where starters play half of the game or more, its a great indicator of which will be the better team, and whoever is leading after the starters exit a game tends to be much better during the regular season.
  12. I feel like there needs to be a PSA for fans to not be dumbasses, and not act like they know anything about the players who are on the list. Because they dont. Being on that list may or may not have anything to do with having a vaccination or for being positive, or not. It can also mean you are vaccinated but were in close contact with someone. So purely leave the conversation to whos available, unavailable, and whos coming back when, because we all know they didnt text you to let you know what their situation was.
  13. So, if an outbreak happens between the vaccinated players then its not a forfeit? I cant think of anything less important today then what some 25 year old millionaire football players are doing medically.
  14. The NFL in its attempts to placate Snyder have actually ended up enabling him, in ways they are not going to like.
  15. An absolute joke, the NFL thinks that fans are both stupid enough and self-centered enough to believe there isnt a report, that its about keeping things confidential, and that Dan Snyder would be willing to take a $10 million fine because someone made a phone call. Legally they cant fine Snyder based on a phone call without a report, unless hes just willing to pay it voluntarily to wipe this under the rug, which should tell you just how damming any report would have been. We all know he wouldnt hesitate to use brutal legal force in a heartbeat, much less for a made up fine based on an oral report from someone not doing an official investigation(according to the NFLs own words). Sadly, when I say "the NFL thinks that fans are both stupid enough and self-centered enough", they are right.
  16. But also to be fair, Terry's ability didnt drop from 2019 to last year. In fact, he was 4th among receivers(those with more than 600-700 yards) in YAC per reception. That means the rest of the receivers ahead of him in total yards just had to catch a ball and get tackled, while he had to catch a ball and still generate more yards to get where he was, with bad QB play. Hes a top 5 receiver in the NFL, and Ive never understood why people will still continue to stick with PFF after they gave Aaron Rodgers a negative grade for a 300+ yard 5 TD 0 INT game.
  17. I certainly am not one to get sentimental about players who arent core to the team and expendable with good replacements, but I hope they know what they are doing with this. I remember the last time we had a solid core(WR) and then thought it was fine to do a little overhaul to save some money. Often times some success leads to over-arrogance, and instead of keeping a good core together(which in this case would give Fitz and the receivers a chance to build an offense) people think you can just throw in new players who have "potential" and just repeat that success. We desperately need to see the offense succeed this year and make a big step up, and Im not sure downgrading the line is the way to do that. If Cosmi comes in and plays great immediately, it looks like a good move, but the odds there are low and it puts us one injury away from a worse situation that gets Fitz killed every drop back.
  18. Clearly they drafted him for the practice squad, as at best hes now fighting for the #6 spot.
  19. This definitely changes the depth chart, and if 1 or 2 of Samuel, Brown and Humphries can pan out the WR core will be vastly improved. Basically as it looks now it would be McLaurin, Samuel, Brown, Humphries, AGG as the fifth, and if they keep a 6th the Simms brothers battle it out with Harmon. Clearly Ron wasnt happy with the WR core, because he added 3 WR's to take up slots #2-4 and bump the #2 back to 5th or further.
  20. So from the sounds of it, insanely athletic, but some poor mechanics. Basically not ready yet, but really high ceiling, you're counting on being able to coach him up.
  21. There is literally nothing more relevant to the Washington Football Team, and to its success, than Dan Snyder.
  22. I understand some people want to upgrade the LB core, but in reality, I think this defense is the same as it was last season talent wise. That means its still a top 5 defense with the potential to only get better with another full year under JDR. Any defensive spots are a luxury because the defensive front covers the poor LB and FS play behind them. On offense, the OLine was much improved, and with Gibson the running game was as well. That means the real positions we needed to improve on were QB and WR. I feel that while we didnt go crazy addressing them, we brought in some good players that should vastly improved a woeful offense. Whether Turner can take advantage of that is anyones guess, but I feel like it at least closed all of the major holes on offense. I dont view TE1 as a major hole due to Logan Thomas play. I think to be great we need another TE, but its not like when you have none at a position of 1. All of that to say I think that outside of adding a good LBer this free agency has filled all of our big holes on the roster. That has set up the team to just enter the draft looking for BPA and filling roster holes. There isnt a player/position we "need' in the draft in order to make the playoffs. Instead, every pick is then an opportunity to improve the team greatly for years to come. I think they will target, ILB, OT, FS, and TE early, but they have the freedom to grab a great WR, QB, or whoever should they become available.
