  1. Yeah, with Elon he has a 0% interest in owning a sports team. Hes busy focused on what he sees as the few core concerns to the human race, and his business obsession with making money is purely to fund a mars mission, Anything that doesnt push towards that hes not interested in wasting any time and resources on.
  2. Honestly, Im not sure how anyone can look at the Rams and see us just a QB away from that. Look at Donald. Look at their CBs. Their D in general. Look at their WR core. The Rams were 10-6 in a tough division and 4 straight winning seasons before they got their QB. Rivera hasnt built a shadow of that team, and he cant win in a horrid division. If you want a QB just to get you to the playoffs for an early exit, sure. But a QB is not going to transform us to a contender, its just going to take us from a bad team to a team that can probably make the playoffs.
  3. No no no, you arent understanding how to do it properly, stats, long term trends(3-4 year), variables and teamates are not important, making decisions purely based on the outcome of one playoff game and saying "See? This is the easy formula and the only one that succeeds" is the only way
  4. This superbowl proved definitively, dont draft a QB, instead trade for a vet from another team, or otherwise you cant win the superbowl. I mean that seems the proper interpretation for this forum.
  5. Basically, the billionaires are too scared to take Dan out, so its up to the regular joes like us to do it. Its the only way he gets outed and probably only happens after the sponsors all quit.
  6. Im preeeetty sure if you go to plant a cadaver in his back yard you'll find one already there half way through digging. Knowing this Dan fellow I highly doubt we know the top 10 worst things hes ever done, and the things we know are pretty bad.
  7. We can revisit in a couple of years. Id love to believe theres a top QB just sitting there waiting for us but I definitely dont see that and it seems like few of the pundits do either. Id say Howell is most likely to be a big bust, followed by Willis, though at least in Willis case hes raw and has some potential to just crazy over-develop with a couple years of tough times in the NFL.
  8. Howell looks very poor to me, hence why I said he looks poor. His game tape looks very bad, and he does not look like he will translate well to the NFL. Howell will not be rushing in the NFL with any real success, because like a few former Florida Gator QBs before him, being a bowling ball runner works in college but the guys in the NFL are bigger and faster. "I may or may not agree but that’s your opinion and we all have some" Im not sure whos opinion you thought I was giving if not my own... I do not think it worth it to go into a very large dissertation on every thought on a QB to make a separate point, if that is what you are looking for thats great, but just not everyone is interested. On the analytics side, Ill just suggest you try and name a few QBs that regardless of players leaving had such a big drop in production over 2 years and made it in the NFL. Having looked at this in the past, I know seeing that is pretty much telling you a QB will be a bust, if they werent able to go through the adversity of college(still nothing like the NFL) and improve on their game measurably. As for Ridder, he probably has the most upside of the others, but he really only looked good for his last season with a weak schedule, and doesnt look like an NFL ready QB. Hes more of a "hope he develops at a faster rate than he has been" type of guy, and while thats true of all NFL prospects(where their work ethic and intangibles will have a big impact on ultimate success), its extra true of him.
  9. Theres going to be a lot of fools gold chasing in this draft. I think Pickett is the easy prospect, and after that a lot of not very good QBs people are going to take just based off of athelticism. Honestly, I think Carson Strong is the best pocket passer in the draft, and shows the best pocket presence and decision making. Of course hes a statue, the big knock against him, so it may take the right team with a good OL drafting him, but the other guy whos a statue in Tom Brady is the best QB in NFL history. Mobility is nice, but very overrated. In fact, almost all of the top QBs we think of in modern times havent been mobile, Brady, Brees, Manning, Rodgers(probably the most mobile), Roethlisberger, Favre, Kurt Warner. Willis cant read or throw, Pickett has historically small hands, Howell looks very poor and just regressed last season which is almost always a horrid sign, and Ridder didnt improve in his first 3 years and in fact regressed.
  10. LOL, hired his own investigator to release "public" findings. Literally havent been down this road before... He thinks people are dumb enough to believe it, when really its going to be either "We didnt find conclusive evidence" or "Findings will not be made public to protect witnesses".
  11. No, because Dan likes to give bad coaches as many years as possible. Marty got canned fast, but Gruden was allowed 6 years of losing. Rivera will have gone 0-3 on winning seasons, so Snyder will keep him for a couple more to prolong the misery. If its a bad decision, Snyder will make it.
  12. Absolute sleazeball stuff. Created a legal limbo to hide the documents and investigation. If they have gone to this effort, seeing the absolutely backlash and hatred they are getting right now, how bad must that report be for them to willingly suffer this? Theres a nuclear bomb, maybe multiple, in that report and they are petrified of it getting released, to the point of risking almost everything. This is why I have a major problem with anyone at this point continuing to put any money in Dan Snyders pocket. Theres a point you have to stand up and have a conscience, and put fellow humans above the desires of your billionaire. That point was long ago, but some are still continuing to prop him up with BS such as "I can divorce the destruction of everything good and abuse of women, and lies, cheating, etc from helping Dan Snyder be richer".
  13. Basically, I think my NFL facebook status changed to "Available". Not ready to jump into something and it has to feel right of course.
  14. I think its literally THE reason he changed the name, because nothing means more to him than money, and nothing gets him that more than a big shiny subsidized stadium complex.
  15. The biggest concern abotu this is that Ron Rivera really does get to take a big swing for a QB. Because, as his 3 winning seasons in 12 now(I think) show, hes a below average coach, and now they might let him trade the future for a vet QB for a team thats just not good enough under Ron. I dont mind trading 3 first for a top QB. But thats when the rest of the team can be built and coached well enough, and I just dont have faith thats Ron. Instead, if we let him go really aggressive for a top guy, you could end up being not only without your 1st this year, but your 2023 1st and 2024 1st which this team will likely need badly.
  16. Sadly I think you are right, I think he has the ability to convince them that even if they dont make the playoffs that "they are close". He did survive doing a lot of that in Carolina, all based on mostly one good season until they finally cut ties.
  17. Fine, you guys go for Jimmy G because you think a team is only 1 player, and Ill sign Aaron Rodgers. Enjoy. Amazing the convoluted ways people will attempt to twist stats and individual games to their bizarre cause.
  18. The hit rate on day 2 picks is actually much better considering the slot than 1st rounders that arent #1 overall. Look at last years top 10 QBs by rating, you have 4 QBs #1 overall, you have 5 QBs that were taken 2nd or 3rd day. The only QB that was taken in the 1st round but not first overall was Aaron Rodgers. Basically, if you dont have the #1 overall pick, the only reason to draft a QB in the 1st is if you want a middle of the road starter(10-20), because you can get some top 10 NFL qbs in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th rounds.
  19. I certainly think you have to get one this year, the plan last year was to have the vet in Fitz and see if TH could claim the job. The problem with drafting a QB now is hes not going to be ready to lead you to the playoffs in his rookie year. Thats way too much pressure unless your D is lights out, which ours wasnt. You still need to bring in a good vet, an upgrade on Fitz even if you draft a guy. Honestly, after looking at the available QBs, I would sign a FA or a cheap trade for a good vet QB, and then draft a QB in the 2nd round depending on whos available. I dont think theres going to be someone at #11 whos worth it, but if Willis doesnt fall to the 2nd, I actually would be very okay with taking Carson Strong on the 2nd day. His main knock is hes not mobile ala Brady, but he is the most Brady-esque QB in the draft, with a good arm and by far the best pocket presence and ability to progress through reads. Plus, like all good college QBs that have success in the NFL he showed big progress each year he started and seemingly didnt plateau. I think thats likely how Ron looks at it. He needs someone ready to come in and start day 1, but he knows he likely needs to try and find a franchise QB in the draft. But he doesnt like the options this draft and is only considering taking one in the 2nd or 3rd round.
  20. The real discussion about taking a QB in the first isn't whether the draft class is strong enough, or if you have to to make the position a priority, it's whether the player you take is any good. If he's not, it's a disaster to waste your #11 pick because you need a "position". Pickett I think will be a flop, physically the hand issue and other issues will end up keeping him from achieving anything. Howell is a disaster waiting to happen, a slow bowling ball that won't translate well. Willis is probably the best bet but that's saying something, great arm, great physical talent, and hard to rate because he was behind a horrid ok ne. But his decision making raises red flags, hes a big injury risk as he runs like RG3, and unlike other running QB once pressure shows up he just bolts and doesn't look down field. A very big flag. He's got the best chance of success of all of them, but there are still major red flags. Ron CANT afford to draft a player at this spot that doesn't make an immediate impact. Our drafts have been crap since Ron was here except for the #1 picks, so he has to hit on an impact player.
  21. I fully expect them to get a vet and draft one in a later round. Ron's prior comments seem to make it clear that he wants someone who can make an impact immediately, and that he doesn't think rookies can do that
  22. Unlike some of you, I have no interest in rooting for a serial sexual assaulter. Throw that in right after the name change and basically confirms that Ron is full of lies, that Dan Snyder is full of lies(I mean we know that) after saying the culture was changing, and I think I and many fans can just leave in peace. If this had come out about some guy that wasnt any good at any sports you would be saying "How has he not been thrown in jail yet?".
  23. So I just listened to his reasons in the interview and, gotta say, it doesnt make any sense. He reasons that he doesnt want to be distracted but wants one on one time with them and thats why hes not going, and that they did that in the 2011 draft. But it doesnt make sense for two reasons. First, you could do both, get the time in at the senior bowl, START a relationship with them, and then bring them into Ashburn and have an even more open conversation because its not the first time you met them. Plus you get eyes on the players in person and can look for specific things. Second, the 2011 draft by Carolina was trash. If that was the approach they took for the 2011 draft it seems it was a disaster and they shouldnt do that again. The only player they got out of that draft that did anything was Cam Newton, who they took #1 overall. Even then, Cam didnt have the career everyone hoped for, while the next picks were players like Von Miller, Patrick Peterson, Julio Jones, JJ Watt etc. They had one player outside of Cam with over 5 AV, while our draft that year had Ryan Kerrigan and 4 others over 12 AV. Jarvis Jenkins was better than the entire rest of their draft class, and the likes of Leonard Hankerson, Roy Helu and Aldrick Robinson were way better than their picks.
  24. If its a family illness, fine, I get that. If its not, trusting the future of the franchise to Scott Turners eyes seems like an impending disaster. He will then be the one scouting QBs, and the main set of eyes to determine who we go after. So far theres no indication he should be an OC, much less chose the most important player on the team.
  25. Mostly his playcalling. By year two McVey was destroying the league. Turner meanwhile is calling for the 37th blown up screen pass of the game and then 3 yard routes for everyone on 4th and 5. We were one of only 10 teams to not score more than 20 per game, and way too many plays had to be improvised due to just not being there. He was bad at Carolina, hes been bad here, I said when he was hired that based on his poor track record they have to be predicting he will improve and ride out his early day failures. But right now, its not looking pretty as he just hasnt improved at all.
