  1. Stunning if its true they have decided not to extend Payne. How in the world do you let Settle and Ionnidis go, and then decide you dont want to keep Payne. Horrific management from Ron if thats true, taking your position of strength and losing 3 of the top 4 players and probably 65-70% of your snaps.
  2. lol that makes no sense despite how much you may want it to be true. Nothing about Twitter's policies have changed, so why would there be more bot accounts today than a week ago? Second, one of Musks stated top 3-4 goals is to remove all bots from the platform, so them signing up before the purge makes even less sense. Third, its clearly just a lot of people coming back to the platform, because if you hadnt noticed a ton of conservative people left Twitter in the past few years due to their policies and the perception that it was a heavy handed liberal platform. It only makes sense they would now be looking to come back. The reality is once account authentication happens you will really see Twitter and its userbase as it is.
  3. Ah, yes, they decided to investigate him because they want to clear him. I'm not sure if you've noticed, but the only way to keep Synder looking clean in the first place is to not look. The man has so much dirt that everytime someone looks for one thing, they find another. He's been desperate to keep them from digging into smaller things because he knows about the bigger things. I'm not saying they will do any more than just bow to what the people want(investigate), but there's a 2% chance you open a Snyder investigation because you plan to clear him.
  4. Some of you seem to think that because the Commanders released a big email saying Friedman was lying then it must be true. Based on the teams response it seems hes telling a lot of truth. The reality is, none of the parties involved in this are good guys. I highly doubt a guy who decided to work for Dan Snyder for 24 years can be construed as a good guy. The only way you can survive more than 5 years or so in that organization is to be a part of the sleaze of it, to embrace it. Theres no mistaking the reality that in this case, as with many, both sides arent good guys you should probably hitch your wagon to. That said, the response from the Commanders doesnt put them in a good light, and seems like a load of lies again. First, just about the entirety of their "evidence" is the words of two employees heavily involved in activity that might get them in major legal trouble if what Friedman said was shown to be true. They have a very biased vested interest in making sure nothing goes forward no matter if its the truth or not. One of these has been directly named by Friedman, and as the head legal counsel was the one who both took care of the 2009 Snider sexual harassment hush money, and sued Beth Wilkerson to not allow her to release the report if you recall. He said it would show him in a bad light were it to be released, and later had to withdraw his suit because it had no merit. You dont think he and the other guy would say anything to avoid things coming out? Second, the Commanders want us to believe that, despite what the women who worked under Friedman say, he was horrible abusive and engaged in all kinds of racism, sexual harassment etc, of his employees, and that the ticket scheme was actually his idea which they found out in 2009. This seems like an obvious load of utter garbage. First off, their whole defense is "No, he was horrible and abusive, dont trust him, but we did deciding to hire him for 24 years and keeping him employed despite all these things we knew". Then, Snyder found out he took his bosses stamp, signed his name on all kinds of broker ticket sale documents without permission behind their back, signed them up for all kinds of deals they had to scramble and pay to get out of, that made Snider SO mad he employed him for 15 more years. WTF. What an absolute lie. Theres a -15,426% chance Snider wouldnt have fired him on the spot were any of that true. No, instead it sounds like Snider told them to do this, there was big fan backlash, and then rather than admit it was his idea he was like "Oh sorry, totally didnt know about that, it was an employee who did that horrible thing but we took care of it(dont worry we wont do anything Jason)." Lastly, as VOR was so loudly stating last week, if Friedman doesnt sue for defamation then what the team says must be true. Well, at this point, what Friedman has said is such a big deal to the team they released a massive letter calling him a pathological liar among other things. But the most lawsuit happy fellow in all the land wont sue him for defamation for some reason. Makes you think.
  5. Ah, so more of the coincidentally timed diversity drops from the team. I guess there must be much more fire to the Friedman stuff than we thought.
  6. To be honest, Im just not sure considering your position there can be a discussion without heavy bias and thats probably for the best. I dont want to reveal too much for those that havent connected the dots but there is major skin in the game, regardless of which side is telling the most truth(and my opinion is always the truth is almost always in the middle) so I dont want to step on family toes if it can be avoided. Back to the discussion at hand, its very interesting that the commanders letter's description of his interaction with this subordinates and those of the women who were sexually harassed within the organization are literally opposite eachother and can in no way be reconciled.
  7. They literally said 3 months later they were switching it from being recorded as non-Redskins revenue, to Redskins revenue. That means they originally recorded it wrongly and left it that way for months. Changing it later just means you realize you might get caught and you are fixing the wrong, not that you didnt do it wrong in the first place.
  8. They denied wrongdoing, thats a surprise. I dont think these matters are nearly enough to get Snyder in trouble and it seems clear the NFL already knew and has so far swept everything under the rug. Though do note they didnt deny that he was told to juice the accounts and its clear the email he provided was 100% true, their refutation is merely that 3 months later they decided to do the right thing, and changed it from the fraudulent way they had recorded it.
  9. lol like anyone believes anything they say. Russia has had nukes in range of the baltics already, and will put them there whether or not Sweden and Finland join. They are going to start to discover that yes, lying and breaking treaties, and doing crazy stuff means no other countries believes you any more or believes your promise-threats.
  10. So looking at this, heres a half-baked theory that seems to be more realistic every day now that we are starting to learn the timing of these things. First, its been strange to everyone how the NFL continues to have Snyders back and seems to be trying to sweep things under the rug, considering the perceived damage hes doing to the brand and blatantly obvious horrible stuff. The first theory was owners were just reluctant to set precedent, but I think thats been blown out of the water by how far its gone. The second theory was that Snyder has some dirt on the league, and so he can blackmail them into leaving him there. While I think there is truth to the fact he knows the NFLs dirty laundry, its gotten so bad now that almost anything he released wouldnt be big enough for it to be worth him staying as owner. Almost anything. See, the release of this new information on Snyder seems to show he ordered money to be stolen from ticket holders by sleazy practices, but also that he fraudulently re-oriented ticket sales so as to not pay as much to the other owners. Supposedly this started in 2012, and ended in 2017-2018. On the face of it it seems the owners should be incensed with it, but there are no indications they are. In fact, it seems this information comes from items already discovered in the Beth Wilkerson investigation that the NFL saw, and then ordered buried and to not be released. Why in the world would the NFL owners willing bury information that shows Snyder stole from them? What if they agreed to it in 2012. What if thats why it was never discovered in NFL audits(because they knew it was there). In 2012, the NFL hit the team with a salary cap penalty for not agreeing to collude with the rest of the NFL, in what appeared to be a blatantly illegal act by the NFL that the NFLPA stupidly left unpunished for the sake of some greed. Now its possible that Snyder could have just then decided to screw over the other owners by keeping extra millions as payback. But that also involves cooking the books for years, hiding it really well, and managing audits from his main revenue source who could force him out if discovered. Or maybe the NFL agreed to it. They needed to punish the franchise and hurt its ability to be competitive, seemingly nullifying the cap "bonus" they received during the prior year to even it out. At the time it seemed so strange that Mr Litigation all of the sudden dropped the issue and didnt sue the league in what seemed an easy to win case. Perhaps in payment for his silence they basically agreed "Look, the team will be punished so its not competitive and the balance is restored, but we dont want you talking to anyone, so how about instead we let you skim revenue to X Millions in extra profit. In other words, the NFL and Snyder agreed to make the franchise worse and punish the team and fans, while making Snyder richer. They colluded on the scheme, and Snyder sold out the fans. Thats why the NFL covered it up when Wilkerson discovered it, thats why audits never "discovered it", and it would reveal the depths of the illegal collusion, thats why they wont remove Snyder and just keep hoping it goes away. They arent against him because they are in bed with him much more than people realize. TLDR: No one seems to understand why the NFL is backing Snyder still. In 2012 the NFL hit the team with cap penalties, which is coincidentally when the skimming started happening. What if the reason the NFL never discovered it in audits, saw it in the Wilkerson report and still buried it, and wont go after Snyder is they agreed to it as compensation for punishing the teams ability to compete for several years, collude against the players, and selling out fans. Anyway, this is the only way I have fun with this team.
  11. Interesting note on Slye as it will undoubtedly come up, how much of the kickers perceived success is really just how well the offense is doing? Hopkins did better last season after leaving here, and the reason his FG% was lower in previous years could seemingly be tied to something few appear to pay attention to:Distance. Not as easy to quote as just a percentage. 75% of Slye's attempts last season were under 40 yards. Only 28% of Hopkins kicks last season were under 40 yards. In Hopkins two most accurate seasons(close to 90%), over half of his kicks were from under 40. In the last two seasons its been much harder under Rivera, instead being 26% and 28% under 40. At the Charges last season Hopkins hit 90% and 50% of his attempts were under 40. Outside of the wonder, Tucker, the top 5 FG kickers in accuracy last season all had over 50% of attempts under 40 yards. That probably means if you want a "good kicker" just get closer to the goal line. But as fans, we just see a miss or hit and dont take into account whether they are from 38 or 48.
  12. Absolutely. I dont think anyone is going to raise an objection to the daughter of a butcher like Lavrov being sanctioned, considered her relationship with him. US Citizenship is not just a series of rights, but a responsibility, and that she has failed at. His family doesnt get to reap the rewards while he kills hundreds of thousands, same as with any of Putin's higher ups.
  13. Okay, since you seem to have lost it a bit here, Ill go back and respond to some of that. I wasnt going to waste time with the absolute nonsense of someone who apparently went heavy on the ironic name but.... Whaa???? So saying "You said he lied, but he told the truth and you lied" is questioning her clients validity? Thats insane. Ah yes, Neil from Rockville. What high profile clients does Neil from Rockville, your expert witness, have? Looking him up, for his 1700 followers his claim to fame is hes an "Emailer, Jingler, Tweeter" and goes on 980 sometimes. Literally no one cares, and no one but you ever thought they would. Ah yes, the experienced lawyer who carefully put out a statement and has been one of the few to successfully crack Snyders empire doesnt understand what to do quite like the guy on the internet who went with the ironic user name. How? What a crazy insane take. So....... Lisa Banks is a rookie who doesnt know what shes doing, but also shes apparently the most powerful person in the world, and the only one who can defeat Dan, holding and wielding more power and influence than every other attorney, attorney generals, congress, Roger Goodell, and the NFL? Amazing! And lets not forget the #1 thing you seem to have forgotten here. The Commanders have no idea what Friedman said. Not a clue. It was private. Without knowing a word of what he said, they said he committed perjury, in what looked like a blatantly desperate move. In other words, they said he committed defamation, damaging the reputation of Snyder and the Commanders. Why havent they sued him for defamation? Oh wow didnt think that far did you. So if he doesnt sue them for defamation hes now discredited, but if they dont sue him for defamation they are brilliant. Please change your name.
  14. Who cares? I mean that seriously, not in a childish way. You seem to think this was a big mess up, but failed to lay out at any point in time what Lisa Banks actually gave up or lost? And what in the world was brilliant from the Commanders? What did they get out of it except more people disliking them for the way they treat witnesses and former employees? I dont think anyone, including Lisa Banks and Friedman, cared about any non-existent defamation suit. I think it was just PR blustering by both sides trying to keep their clients looking good. I think Friedman comes off looking better than the Commanders after the 2nd statement they put out seemed remarkably petty, inviting someone to a suit that both sides know would be meaningless. The Commanders came out with a statement no one would put a name to, making a bold yet vague claim of perjury on a long-time employee. His attorney wasnt just going to ignore that, and instead hit back using the same level of force they did, AKA, vaguely legal words intended for PR. I mean I could tweet at the team and say "Bring a defamation suit against me, you wont!" and nobody would think I was brilliant for making some weird reference to a never-will-be-existent defamation suit just because I know they wouldnt. Because why.
  15. This is a great thread where I think someone is finally drawing close to the truth. At this point Id put good money on: The minority owners found out that Dan had likely cooked the books. They were pissed. But this was also the time a number of the scandals were coming out, and they figured it would be better to sell and get a quick sale at full price before the franchise got devalued or things dragged out in court for an ugly sale in a few years. So once they knew, they figured out that the one thing Snyder couldnt afford was a full independent review of his books. So they put together a Notice of Intent with high terms, a price they knew Snyder didnt want to pay but that he had to. Legally, if he didnt match exactly the NOI they had the right to then sell to anyone. His right of first refusal only applies if its the full amount and full price they intend to get. This pissed off Snyder, but he knew he was in trouble. He then attempted to say their NOI was insufficient and instead he would buy only part of the shares(didnt have the money for all of it as we saw later) and at a different price of course. He then desperately claimed he had right of first refusal and could just buy what he wanted for how much he claimed their NOI was insufficient. The minority owners quickly filed with the courts and the courts sided with them obviously. This then left Snyder with two possibilities: let them sell on the open market and have his accounts audited, or buy on their terms. He couldnt get a normal loan secured on the franchise(which should have been easy) because they would review the books. So he convinced the NFL who thought they had already reviewed them so they wouldnt snoop, to lend him the money, and he bought them out. Now, the NFL is about to find out his financials arent true, hes been skimming money or whatever, and he lied to them to procure the loan. The minority owners know. This may likely come down to one of them deciding to share. The truth of it may not be just that Snyder doesnt want to sell(though I think its true, hes nothing without the team), but that Snyder COULDNT sell. Any sale would require a review of his books to determine the true value of the team, and that would reveal the discrepancies and the fraud that occurred. Once he cooked the books he painted himself into a corner, and the combination of the fall of the fanbase, the pandemic, and the last of his cash going to purchase the minority shares put him in a position in 2 years he never thought he would be in. The Commanders reveal and rollout looked like a sad low-budget affair. That may have actually been exactly what it was. Its also why he cant afford to maintain FedEx, and he cant afford a new stadium without the government paying for it all. Its why the Sean Taylor reveal looked like a sad low-budget affair in front of toilets. TLDR: Years ago the minority owners found out he had done something with the books. They used their legal right to provide a Notice of Intent to sell at their terms, to force him to buy them out as otherwise an outsider could examine his books. He had to borrow from the NFL to do what he couldnt afford, and now the NFL may find out he lied to them to procure that loan, among other things.
  16. Thats not what you said, but the misdirection is very Snyderesque. From Merriam-Webster "Definition of more power to someone, US, informal —used to say that one approves of what someone is doing and hopes it will be successful If he wants to write a book, more power to him!
  17. Wow. No, I dont think if assaulting people, destroying lives, lying, cheating and trying to drag his sexually harassed former employees through the dirt gets him the Lombardi, then more power to him.
  18. So...........who is Washington Commanders Team Spokesperson? Is that just Dan Snyder? I guess at this point nobody, including apparently whoever is literally paid to be the spokesperson, wants their name associated with anything said by the team.
  19. The guy was there for 24 years, and some of you are like "Whoa, now hes claiming he saw TWO separate times where Dan Snyder did bad things??? Got an axe to grind this guy, he sounds crazy!"
  20. So, to clarify, you think Bezos would make a 4 billion dollar purchase without being heavily involved in it, and simply tell someone to figure out a way to get it because he really doesnt care? Just because you were a gopher for a previous boss doesnt mean you understand how 4 billion dollar transactions work.
  21. I think some of you are going to be very surprised at how NFL teams dont value this years QBs like you do, and how few go early.
  22. The team was 7-10 and was not good last year. MLB, S, CB, G, WR2 are all glaring holes right now. Adding one player doesnt all of the sudden give a team, that hasnt had a winning season in over 5 years, a well built roster without holes.
